As a Luton fan, it's strange that so many pundits have us in the top six or even top two. I would be stunned if we even make top half. I think we will find it even more difficult to adjust coming down into the championship rather than coming up into it, and so will be thrilled with survival.
I'm excited for Tim Walter. He's coming to Hull with a good background. You don't work in the Bayern youth and second team setup if you're a donkey. And you also don't manage clubs the size of Hamburg and Stuttgart unless you have something about you
I'm a Chelsea fan but I've been following the championship recently and I think that the flops will be Sunderland, Watford and Blackburn and teams that are gonna do well is Leeds, Pompey and Middlesbrough
As a Sunderland fan i can see us being relagation favorites unless something drastic happens with the way the club is being run.striker situation for 2 seasons .sacking of tony mowbray.speakman having far too much say and god knows when we will ever appoint a coach.
Don't fancy us, chairman's trying to influence picking the team that never goes well. Greaves goes, Philogene will follow then it's 10 or 11 players we need not 8. Not great is it?
As a Sunderland fan i never been so sure a club would get relegated befoe in my life . The search for a new head cowch as being a joke and with what they have to work with i don't blame anyone that doesn't want to come a sporting director from everything u heard is very difficult to work with aswell as not being able to bring in yours on couching staff abd also no say in transfers in or out it's just so unappealing this job at the moment abd the owners have nobody but themselves to blame.
as i stoke fan i think we’re going to seriously underwhelm again next season. i think a lot of people, mostly stoke fans though to be fair, seem to think that if schumacher is given a full transfer window in the summer to build the squad that we’re suddenly going to click and push right up the table, where as personally im not convinced by schumacher AT ALL, and i don’t see the direction the club is taking as a positive one, seems like every year the club is going through a transition, once again we’ve got a whole new back room staff, and as much of a legend he was as a player i don’t think jon walters should be director of football, he doesn’t know what he’s doing, i don’t see us progressing next season, it’ll be another lower mid table finish, and i think it’s a good possibility that schumacher doesn’t last past january.
@@Minidunkathon93 he’s never done this job before, he’s been hired on pure nostalgic reverence rather than credentials, and the first thing he does in his new job is sack jared dublin who was responsible for bringing in the best players we have at the club currently, all because he clearly wants to move us back into a more domestic focused recruitment model despite the fact that strategy has failed miserably for us so far in the championship. with walters in charge the club has quite clearly been trying to shift the culture back to a more “work hard” mentality, which for 1) is all good saying these things, but the proof is in action, not talk, they’ve been pushing this “play for the badge” shite on a lot of the recent social media promos, but how much of it is genuine and how much of it is just transparent fan service actually remains to be seen. and 2) the “work hard” mantra was successful back in the day, under pulis, which is what the club is trying to remind fans of, they’re milking their nostalgia to get them on board with the changes at the club, but it’s 2024, not 2008, quality is what gets your success in football now, of course you need good leaders, and player who will work hard, but this idea that you can build a squad in the championship in 2024 with players who will all view stoke city as “their” club, as the club they want to build their career at is delusional, the best way to gain success in this league in todays game is to bring in players who do view the club as a stepping stone, it’s just the way it is, but they still need to have the right attitude, you need players with high ambition, players who will work hard for themselves, because they want to reach the highest levels, and in turn, the club will succeed as a byproduct of the individual successes. look at the clubs who have been promoted since we came down, and look at the types of squads they had, besides luton, and maybe sheffield united (the first time), and possibly cardiff, all the other sides go with this route to succeed, the majority aren’t building teams based on solely british players, or even a majority british core and relying on their “passion” and “loyalty” to get them up, they’re bringing in players with genuine quality. we are going to go nowhere with walters in charge trying to recreate the “glory days” signing players like ben gibson and trying to convince the fans that the way forward is by bringing in below average players with league one level technique and skill but who will “graft” and “work ‘aard” and “play for the badge” and all that pandering nonsense, what we need is quality and modern analytical recruitment, it’s the model that has seen clubs like brentford and brighton not only get promoted but thrive in the PL, there are no clubs in the premier league currently who are doing well on the kind of culture and model of squad that walters and steven schumacher want to create, its living in the past and its pure delusion, we’re going to suffer another completely irrelevant season like this and have another hard reset with another new manager and all new back room staff again in a year, year and half’s time, mark my words. i’ll be dead before steven schumacher gets stoke city into a top 6 finish in the championship.
As an ipswich fan I was not looking forward to the championship - but it parted like the Red Sea for us Leeds will obviously flop And as I like Pompey they will finish top six 🚜
Hi Ben It wasn't just Schuey that had an affect on Whitaker, we lost Fin Azaz half way through who was a definite play maker and he set Morgan up for a lot of his goals.:(
Sunderland will struggle, will lose jack clarke, possibly jobe and i dont even know if they have a new manager😂alongside them, Hull, Watford and Sheffield United will be underwhelming
I reckon Sheffield United will struggle, feel for Burnley fans, club stayed loyal to Kompany during difficult prem season and he jumps at first opportunity, if he had stayed would have expected them to bounce straight back hope they get off to a good start. I feel a Luton and Leeds top 2. Hoping we at Ipswich will take Jacob Greaves with us to the premiership, 23 so plenty of years left and his value could sky rocket with development under McKenna.
Many people are writing off The Blades next season simply because of last seasons showing in the Premier League ... yes that was a flop with no denying, but that season is confined to the history books now. A new book with new chapters will open with the final chapter titled - THE BLADES ARE GOING UP. ⚔️

Everyone writing us (Hull) off already, got to love it haha

Pompey to finish in the top two this coming season
