    Thank you for the honest review…this helps with deciding on an e-bike.

    Thank you for the review. It's a rarity on to find honest reviews with no affiliate links on here.
    P.S.
    You must get a pair of Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres. They're bomb-proof, 7 out of 7 puncture protection. You will never regret it.
    I have a family member who's had a pair for over 10 years and no flats, I've had mine, ridden 1100 miles on my e-bike and no flats either.
    Halfords sometimes have them on sale, or if you can find a discount code. I got mine for £24 each but they're typically around £35.
    And get a can of GT85 spray and spray over those rusty bolts. Just make sure you don't spray near your disk rotors.

    Thanks for your review Mike. We recently bought one for my wife who has been out of cycling for some time. The first few short rides have been fun and problem free. Glad to see you made no mention of battery problems (apart from the rattle - which I have heard about from other reviews) I will look forward to an update after another 1000 miles. Keep safe.

      You can put some foam pads at top or bottom of the battery and you are good to go

    Hello. Thank you for a good review after some time of use. Many other reviews seams to got the bike for free and start by unboxing it. I been looking at this bike for a while. Ado air is interesting, but too expensive for me. Also a big loss if it get stolen. I want have the possible to park it outside when I go shopping.
    Anyway, I have been close to order A20+, but now I have just put in an order on 5TH WHEEL Thunder 2 v1. It was 300 EUR less then Ado A20+.
    Anyway, I think you have a good bike. Will see if I get mine 😁

    1,000 miles here too on my Ado 16. It seems to have lost some battery capacity, but nothing to worry about. There is no rust on mine. Still looks brand new. The brakes are already contaminated and need to be replaced, but I clean them every now and then.

    Great review...can you pls explain me the issue with the key under the frame? You need to have it onside during riding? what is its purpose?

    • @MikeHarEV
      @MikeHarEV  2 месяца назад

      The key needs to be left in the frame when riding. When you turn the key on, it engages the contacts of the battery, only then can you power up the bike on the control panel. You can also turn the key one more turn from the off position to unlock the battery from the frame so you can removable it. You can take the key out before folding but make sure to not turn the key fully or the battery will slide out unexpectedly. This happened to me and the battery fell down a few steps. Luckily the battery was fine but I now leave the key in to be safe. But the flip side is the key can be bent by accident :(

    i forgot to tell you that I have just ordered it (for euros 650) and I do not know if I did well. Of course very very good price for a folding ebike

    • @MikeHarEV
      @MikeHarEV  2 месяца назад +2

      That sounds a very good price to me, my bike has now done 1700 miles and going strong.

    You can put zoom xtech brakes..they are really cheap and very good for the price.
    And for tyres schwalbe big Ben plus..

      Thanks for the tip. I didn't know semi hydraulic disc brakes were a thing. They sounds just the job, I'll look into that upgrade for sure. I've got Schwalbe Marathons on my manual bike and they are great. But I've been enjoying a bit more off road grip during the winter on the dirt path section of my commute. I may get something like these Big Bens for the summer.

    Good review, I think the mudguards look a bit of a waste of time helping the rust along. :)

    • @MikeHarEV
      @MikeHarEV  8 месяцев назад +1

      I forgot to mention the mudguards. Not sure if they are adding to the rusting issue, but this is my first ever bike to come with mudguards and they are a revelation. No more water flicking up in your face and no muddy streak up your back on wet commutes :)

    Hi.
    Ado quote on their website that the weight of the bike is 20kg. Is this correct? Is that with the battery?
    Hope you can help

    • @MikeHarEV
      @MikeHarEV  7 месяцев назад +1

      I've not weighed it but 20kg feels about right with the pack in. It's much easier to lift and manoeuvre folded if you take the battery pack out
