Noodler's Flex Nib Whisper - ASMR

- I've had some request to do another whisper video so when my new Noodler's Ahab flex fountain pen, and Noodler's 54th Massachusetts ink arrived, I figured I could whisper a little about these items while showing them to you and giving them a whirl.
This video is intended as a relaxation video and not a pen/ink review so please, if you are a pen enthusiast that stumbles across this video, please keep in mind the video's nature before commenting.
I made this video using my latest microphone setup so let me know what you think. One thing that is obvious is the audio has so much more volume now. Headphones or ear-buds will probably continue to render the best audio quality.
One final note: this video ends with me showing you a page that I copied from a Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poetry book. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow died more than 100 years ago and virtually all of his works are now public domain.

I was in 7th grade when I first watched this video. Now I’m 23, an accountant, have a wife and child, house, and still come to this channel and this video specifically.
I remember watching this when I was just in elementary school, at the time (around the beginning of 6th grade, late 2012 for me). This was one of the best go to videos I went to, when I was just starting to learn about ASMR. This video is now going to be seven years old, and older as these comments (including this one) ages with it proudly.
Seven years later, and I'm now out of high school (I graduated in June, 2019, and got my diploma). My gosh, time flies by fast when you're having lots of fun, as well as sleeping in with some ASMR.
Great videos and I love your sense of humor. You must be a strange man to live with. Thanks for all time and effort in making outstanding videos.

I have so many video ideas. I feel like I could create videos for years and still barely scratch the surface. However, there is one video that keeps surfacing front and center in my mind and I might give it a go before year's end but don't hold your breath lol:)

I genuinely appreciate the concern. I'm happy to report that all is well:) I was just commenting on how much ink you get for the money. A consequence of liking fountain pens is the desire for different inks as well. Unless you write a tremendous amount, you will never empty the various bottles of ink acquired.
It's nice to know people care. In hindsight, I should have added the word "someday" when I said what I said int he video.

Interesting looking pen indeed. It's not a fountain pen although Parker wants it to look like one (poser pen?). Someone said the refills were ridiculously high priced. I suggest you buy it and send it to me along with an ample supply of refills so that I can test it in a video.

I lose about ten to fifteen pens a year. I wonder if I would manage to keep one as nice as this one. Beautiful pen. The color really does look like the sea in certain light. Nice relaxing half hour.

No, not really. The Noodler's flex pens are more for tinkerers I think because sometimes the pens need tweaked to write well. A beginner needs a pen that writes dependably right out of the box and thus would be better off with a Lamy Safari ($30 with converter) or a Pilot Metropolitan ($15). Thanks for commenting:)

For everyday writing, I prefer the Lamy. The Noodlers Ahab is more for goofing around with, but I would think it could be an everyday too. Thanks for watching:)

Ink will feather and bleed through with cheap paper. Always try to use fountain pen friendly paper. I like the French-made paper Clairfountain as well as a few others. As for the pen; I'll leave the piston filler in it because I don't need the extra ink capacity (might if I were drawing with it), plus the pocket of air between barrel and filler keeps the heat of your hand from pressurizing the ink chamber, thus avoiding possible drooling at the nib. Both. For subject that I do not enough about, I have to do a little bit of research before making the video. Once recording, sometimes I relay information that I've known for years, other times I pass on to you from my own memory what I found during my casual research, while still at other times I work from notes taken from sources such as Wiki or my own library of books. I bought my first fountain pen because of your videos. I purchased the noodlers Shan flex nib piston fill pen. Also noodlers luxury blue ink. So far I love them. Although the pen is a bit messy.

Honestly noodlers ink is a steal for what you're getting. It's like walking into a bank and the teller handing you a bag of cash.

Funny how when I was younger I always thought my spin-around jump-shot would be my signature move. I don't know whether to laugh or cry lol....
Unfortunately the Hall isn't open on game days but I plan on going back just for that. I've been to the NFL Hall in Canton and that was absolutely amazing.
