All of these women were so gorgeous and a huge inspiration to me as a black woman. And I'm only a 90s baby but I loved watching them growing up. And they're still beautiful to this day. Aging like fine wines. RIP to Florence, Whitney, Phyllis and Vanity 🙌🏾💜

You and I are together on this Phyllis was beautiful inside and out besides she had big feet and she was tall she had demons 1995 she was coming to Baltimore and I made up my mind to go see her but she committed suicide before she could make it here and I spoke as if she could hear me as a Phyllis whatever you were dealing with all you had to do was call me and my heart of hearts that might sound for a fish but she would yet be with us and she could have heard me call well so I never said goodbye and I never really told her just how much she meant to me no I never said goodbye now it's too late she's just a beautiful memory

Considering the '80s and '90s there are just so endless a list of black beautiful women it's extremely hard to pick one and say that that is the top one but if you force me up against the wall and just said you got to pick one Phyllis Hyman inside and out oh 6 ft 2 in of her plus her big feet that's my sweetheart wish she had hung around and gave me time to get to her but she didn't know where I was she didn't know who I was I was making my way to her it just wasn't enough time
The goal posts keeps changing for black women and the black beauty standards. In the 90s, skinny girls received no attention and the "thick, curvy" girls were praised. By the 2000s, women starting getting surgical enhancements and fake hair. Now in 2021, black women are shamed for not being natural. lol Just do you , black women!

My favorite part about this video is recognizing Ms. Matthews' transformation from sinner to saint/evangelist. Her life is a wonderful testimony. Praise God for her!

When a black beauty is on the big screen they always shine! Forest Whitaker directed waiting to exhale. He shot the women with a filter to make their skin pop. Some of the movies from the 60s and 70s make black women look ashy because they are focusing on the white women looking good. Not in waiting to exhale all the women skin tones were gorgeous.

while i agree with this list and definitely agree with number 1......... BUT! Vanity is Mixed race so its kinda null.. yes she is black but she is also Mixed race with White... also the olympic runner i think is mixed as well not 100% sure if i remember her bio correctly ... so its not 100% fair idk.. but yeah vanity is the best looking out of the bunch very Exotic/Unique looking ..... but that is becuase she is mixed race.... if her great grandmother was white ill let it slide but her mother was white etc on another note Vanity was one of a kind really.. even today Mixed black woman usually dont even look like her, hell not even white woman or mixed white with asian or indian etc ... so she was rare for her time and now in 2020. now that i think about it she would have made a amazing CleoPatra in a movie

When a black beauty is on the big screen they always shine! Forest Whitaker directed waiting to exhale. He shot the women with a filter to make their skin pop. Some of the movies from the 60s and 70s make black women look ashy because they are focusing on the white women looking good. Not in waiting to exhale all the women skin tones were gorgeous.
