Fabricating driveway posts and testing the ARCCAPTAIN MIG 200 on 110 volt 20 amp outlet

- Tried to use the ARCCAPTAIN MIG 200 on 110 volt to fabricate two posts for my Buddy's driveway but I ended up switching to 220 volt to get it done. You could probably do a great job on 110 volt if you had a 30 amp supply but my 20 amp breakers on my 110 volt supply kick on the high settings required to weld this thick steel.

I love your saying learn to work with what you got so u always will have what you need 😂
Yep
Thanks for watching and commenting
Great work sir! 👨🏾🏭🤙🏿💵💯
Much appreciated
I was laughing out loud at the end there. I love it
👍
You are keeping America 🇺🇸 going.
The added knowledge of the 3/16" wall and sliding. Wonderful.
Another lesson learned thanks for sharing CB 👍💪💪💪
Thanks 👍for commenting!
CB, check to ensure the wire going into the breaker is tight. If they are loose it will cause heat and heat the breaker too causing a premature kick.
Yep...nothing loose though...thanks for watching and commenting
Love it when the bumper is in the yard. The 120 verse the 220 is helpful. Thanks for sharing
You bet
Awesome video man. Something else I like about the Arccaptain welder, and Arccaptain probably won’t advertise this is the Vulcan Welder sold at harbor freight uses the same mig gun so you can get the consumables for it at HF without ordering..
I explain that in several of my videos, I learned of it during the original review I did on the MIG 200 when I compared it to the welders sold at HF.
Hey cb my arccaptain arrived and i think its great. I bought it on aliexpress so I didn't get the option to use your code. But hey arccaptain if your watching, give cb his dues
Thank you
We'll definitely do it.
The buddy dude has to set up a motion camera on the porch to give us all closure on this build!
He said he would
Thanks for posting another great video. Bought time.😅
Thanks for watching!
Your review help me decide to buy the Mig200 instead of the competition. Your first test when you said "if it doesn't burn this rod then we are done with this review" and the results that followed the rest of the videos was the deciding factor. Thank you! Great welder and instructor!
Good to hear
Great review
Thanks
The Arc Captain pamplet says the max 110v draw 40.7 amps. At 220v max draw is 31.1 amps.😊
👍
Received my NBS Welding T-Shirt. Thanks Tina
I've got to get me one!
Thank you for your support
Good job CB, If the ups driver hits that one, out he’ll sure notice. Then again maybe not in today’s world. Have a good weekend
Good stuff.
Thanks!
Gonna need an update on that ups driver 😂
He said he was gonna setup a camera on it...love to get some footage of what happens
I broke down and bought the mig 200, haven't had a chance to use it yet. I'll put it to use tomorrow. Can't wait
You’ll love it, I been rocking mine about a month and it’s solid. Make sure you try and get it on 220volt tho asap that’s when it comes alive
Let me know how it goes
👍

Damnit boy I already told you how it goes this bitch is bad to the bone homie 😂

Just used your discount code on my plasma cutter consumables and it saved me 1.87 😂 presh brother lol.
Right on...thank you
Thanks for the knowledge!
Post look good, Kentucky

Your shop always looks so clean. Any tips?
Many of the shops I worked in growing up were a mess...I hated that...I always said when I get my own place it will be clean and organized.
I work here by myself and I do the housekeeping. I am the Chairman, Founder, CEO, Welder, Fabricator, Maintenance Man, Electrician, Plumber, Mason, Plasterer, Painter, and Janitor....so everything gets done my way.
@@NBSWELDING Love Ya Man! Miss Princess Dianne, she was exceptional.
For us DIYs don't have gas, can you show us what will happen with flux core. Thanks
In one of his review videos he runs flux core 👍

That is the link to the part 2 review and I run flux core in that review...2 different types/sizes of flux core
What type of blade are you using on those dewalt chop saws?
Hercules, Evolution, sometimes Dewalt....these are 14" low rpm DW872 metal cut saws, not high RPM chop saws...high RPM saws use mostly abrasive blades....low RPM saws like mine use steel blades with tungsten carbide teeth
@@NBSWELDING Thank you
Would it help to prevent the breaker kicking if you preheated the steel ?
I don't think so
how big is your shop , looks set up very well
30'×40'

Pennatration was not critical for that application just to hold a light, I'm assuming like a cap like solar light.
Just saying.
If penetration is inadequate the edges of the welds won't wet in causing an area that you can't clean or paint but water can get into...meaning that there will be rust forming in those weld edges and the rain will cause the rust to make brown streaks down the side of the pole
You need to be teaching to young people ! I Aim a machinist by trade in the future there is going to be a shortage of machinist and welders.
Right on
Synergic is pronounced.... Sin er Jick
Loved your channel, now it's just a sales channel 😢 take care, good luck.
I looked through all your other comments in this channel and it was nothing but praise for the good work CB does. He has said that he doesn't have a lot of work right now, so he's trying to make quality content for his subs, while offering a solid product, and teaching multiple lessons at the same time. What you're saying here is that you're upset because he's trying to make a living and every video needs to be what you want to watch. When he has more work, you will get other work videos. Would you stop eating at your favorite restaurant because they were out if your favorite food one time, but they have the nerve to sell other food to other people?
@@gillihansmobilewelding well said. I appreciate you taking the time to respond respectfully. And I hope everyone here reads your comment and have the understanding you do. Thanks again.
I know what kind of videos you like...they take me about 15 hours to make and RUclips pays me about $12 for posting them
I'm trying to save this channel...it's killing me with the time I'm putting into it...just spent $1200 on a phone I didn't otherwise need just to get the better camera to try to improve video quality.
I just need enough to justify some of the time this takes because as for now its simply not sustainable...I'd do better as a greeter at Wal-Mart
@@NBSWELDING Thank you, very much for your time!!! I understand, I really do. I try to comment, like, and, I am subscribed. I watch All of your videos. But, I thought I should share my feelings as I am sure others have some of the same thoughts. If you hang in there, I Will too. Thanks again!!!
I appreciate the time he puts in to show us the potential , and answer some of the questions a person looking for a good welder at a good price wout spending 1000s would ask… appreciate the time u put into these videos CB 👌🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Why don't you just leave the ground to the table, rather than repositioning on the piece every time?
When the arc jumps from the table to the tubing it causes a spike in voltage that could unnecessarily kick the 20 amp breaker...since I was trying to test how hot I could weld without tripping the breaker I wanted to eliminate that condition.
He said all this In the video…. 🤔
Use something that will do some damage to the truck.
Driver gets ironed out when they have to pay out.
He will learn how to drive.
