I was waiting for this video 😃. The new pricing is going to force everyone to pick some back markers… initially, at least. I can’t wait to get going again!
Looking to revolve around Ferrari RB constructors and get Max and RB drivers with Alpine drivers + Alex for growth. Hope they do well and gain equity early on.
Welcome back Tom! These prices have definitely added spice and it is going to be more fun having an array of builds to go over. Which I'm sure we all have been doing all day. Bit disappointed that Oscar is so pricey. i don't see him as any sensible owner's asset. On the other hand all winter I've been thinking about how well he might do VS Lando. One other thing: a question for you. it looks like in the Global league you can have 3 teams instead of one. Have I got that wrong? this year it may behoove us to concentrate on 2 teams or even 3 running and not just use them as testing grounds?
Yeah, Oscar could be a couple million less but I can also kinda see why they rate him that highly, especially as Norris is 23m. Yeah I think you can have all 3 teams in global but only 1 eligible for prizes... I'll build 3x optimal builds to cover all bases!
Driver prices change. So basically, if you buy a driver and they do really well, their price will increase. So when you go to sell them for another driver, you've effectively increased your budget because the driver is now worth more, and you can use that increased value to buy other drivers. It will make more sense when you start playing :)
I don't think they'll change the prices now the game has launched. If testing does generate some surprises, I'd like to see some adjustments but just don't think they will.
Two things I picked up in the 2024 rules release: - Points for top 3 fastest pitstops. Does that elevate any teams traditionally great on pitstops? McLaren? Does Ferrari take a hit if we don't trust their pitwall? - Pricing looks to be based on performance NOT ownership. "Prices for the drivers and constructors will be updated after each race. Prices can increase or decrease depending on their performance and will remain fixed until the next Grand Prix." I don't really love the second. If a driver does well, you also get the benefit of a salary increase. Would much rather prices fluctuate given where managers are selecting, creating more opportunities for ownership leverage
The pitstops points were from last year too. Certainly boosts McLaren's appeal but they are quite pricey. Ferrari were good at fast pit stops last year and cheaper then McLaren so could be better value this season. I also quite like the price freeze post race as it means I can switch off a bit before the next deadline! F1 Fantasy occupies too much of my brain space 😄
@@potpanmanF1 I don't mind a price freeze. But I do think it should be linked to ownership over performance. Otherwise, a team double benefits from both the higher scoring but also a salary increase. Opens up less opportunities for fading what the general public are doing
@@Lostkiwi431 yeah, I understand.it makes it harder for people who get the wrong team (especially in the first couple of weeks) and it benefits those that already benefit from the points in the first place. Makes teams like alpine and VCARB more attractive as potential budget boosters
For me I will be mixing RB and FER as much as possible. Leclerc will be wanting to prove himself as no. 1 driver before Hamilton joins. Ferrari have been more radical with their design. RB might tail off in the year if the Horner controversy carries on.
League code btw: P7DXEJD3V01
Will you create a battle mode league?
Geez that rank 84 manager showing up early and ready for work this year. Let's get it. Now the season's really started.
Lol 🤣
Great to hear from you Tom!
Finally something to look forward to!
Thanks!
Good to have you back mate - another exciting season ahead!

Yeah, I wish we could afford some better options but hey, so in the same boat.
Welcome back brother!!!!

Can you clarify what you mean by grow the budget? does your budget increase throughout the season on top of the 100m?

TOM! The GOAT! From Mr.F1
Hey Mr F1!
Great content! Thanks. Let the games begin 😊
Thanks 😊 Bring on the testing!
Is it worth getting a build in before testing? Will they update pricing after testing?

Do the constructors tend to bring in more or less points than individual drivers generally speaking?
Constructors definitely more points
