Fact that they need at least two dogs or three seems to be the magic number for goats and sheep herd
Started in 1988 and I still raise them 😊

I have a 2 year old pit bull terrier and 4 chicks in the brooder right now. Is the terrier going to be able to be a guardian dog with training? I’ve heard they have too much of a prey drive. I am new to both chickens and dogs. Help! Thank you.

Even herding dogs have too much prey drive.
LGDs have hundreds of generations of selective breeding to refine them into a dog who will bond with livestock and protect them.
