I would also add that thinking you need hundreds upon hundreds of wattage is a misconception as well. The amount of power one needs for their home theater is very much dependent on room, speaker sensitivity, and listening level preference. Some, and perhaps even many, probably don’t need much more than what a decent receiver can push. I do have an external amp on my Denon AV receiver, but I don’t think it has made a huge difference. I am still glad I have it though!

Connectors are more Important than cables typically.
Trick: take a 18-12 gauge wire split red & black into equal length twist the reds & black individually together with a cordless drill then pair them.
You will have geometric opposed pair that radiate cleaner Audio , and your own high quality cable, Snake it thru a woven sleeve for better aesthetics.

The low end of Audioquest's line of interconnects work for me - around $40 for an RCA pair running ftom DAC to receiver.

Buying the correct cable is better for speakers. If you buy 100% copper OFC you will be good. Any citified HDMI 2.1 cable will work on your system. I bought Zeskit, monoprice and others and no difference. You can say the more you spend on a speaker it should sound better. If you have good placement and equipment to drive them then they should sound good

Was trying to calculate the true power available for my 3800H when using all 9 amps just last night! 😅 My rough estimate was around 50 watts at 8 Ohms for all channels. My old X1200W has around 112.00 watts 2 channels driven at 8 Ohms, I currently use it to power my rear left & right heights in direct mode. Today I would like to experiment with using the old AVR to power the front left & right instead for more headroom, I don't know.
Just a crazy idea that came to me last night, but a big part of this hobby is experimentation and having fun. I know it's not ideal to use an AVR to power additional speakers but if anyone else out there on a tight budget would like to give it a try it works and the Denon IR can be disabled on the old AVR once setup, so that when you press any button on the new AVR remote it doesn't accidentally change settings on the old AVR.

Those are Chinese lumens measured 3" from the wall...lol
My Integra receiver is rated 9.8 amps at 120v (9.8A X 120V = ~1,176W)...keep in mind A/B amplifiers are around 60-70% efficient which knocks that number down to ~700W of actual total output divided by all channels driven...not bad, but I still run separate (Crown XLS) amps to get real reliable power especially during dynamic peaks with movies and music
I buy most of my cables from Monoprice...very good quality imo and very reasonably priced
    Good video 🙂

To be completely honest with you, the cinema 70s is only rated down to 6 ohms. I’m not saying it won’t play 4 ohms speakers, however, it will go into clipping almost immediately. For example, its 8 ohm rating is 50 watts full range at .08% total harmonic distortion with two channels driven. Sound United has a 70% wattage guarantee up to five channels driven. At 6 ohms, 100 watts 2ch driven, the total harmonic distortion is up to .7% at 1k hz. This is essentially saying running any more than two 6 ohm speakers, the amp will be clipping through the the roof. So at 4 ohms you risk destroying both speakers and amp, even if you’re just running one channel off of it.

You got to up your game and start doing more contents in compare on various pre-amp home theater in the mid entry level with the current Anthem. Maybe something that would beat the Anthem if you plan to upgrade it in the future -- that would excite the audience more I think. Like your previous comparison between the Anthem and the Marantz's if i remember it correctly.
