Your room is very similar to how my room started out years ago. I'm glad there are other creators out here focusing on smaller rooms & older equipment. Keep up the good work and you gained a sub to watch your room progress.
I think you have a great setup. The screen is fabulous. The positioning of your speakers could be a little better. I would imagine the in-walls ain't gonna be a problem providing the listening habits is all about the movies! However, if you love your music just as much as your movies personally, I wouldn't risk the stifling of the sound stage. In my experience, the boundary interference of nearby walls stifles the stereo sound stage. I suppose it's all about listening habits.
thank you for your compliments on the room...you are right about the sound stage... in my previous house i had them the speakers same distance between each other but the room was bigger 12x14 vs 11.3x11.0...the walls were farther away from the speakers and i could tell there was more of an open sounding soundstage...what i have to do now is hang some absortion and diffusion panels on the walls to help that out...i cant wait to hear the in wall speakers
I'm not quite sure how many subwoofers you got, whether it's 1 2 or 4. Having the couch off the back wall is just as good as them all! As you're probably aware, corners are most prevalent. However, low frequencies also left stack up near rear walls. Room EQ may help, but it can't fix what's Unfixable. And to think all I'm referring to is a less ear fatiguing bass, let alone a fully enveloping surround sound experience! IDK if it was intentional, but having the couch off the back wall is King. Very cool 👍🏻
Clap your hands a few times and see if you get a couple of echoes or not. It’s a pity that your stairs are there and the cupboard isn’t bigger (longer), so that you could put your projector in there too. If you’re going for a acoustic, transparent screen, put all 3 speakers behind it, not just the centre and I wouldn’t recommend a short throw projector either. Also if you don’t like to have all the walls black, you could also get some black cloth on a track, so that you can pull along when you need it or finished with. But that’s up to you. Do all your research first, ok.
thank you for all your suggestions....its appreciated...question....why would you not recommend a short throw projector?...i was looking at the Benq x500i for my next projector and that is a short throw...wanted to get eventually a bigger screen but in the 2.35 aspect ratio and was doing all calculations and only thing that could do that is a short throw projector
@@juleocan Well the saying goes, the old ways are the best ways. You just never know that something might have to change and you wish to stay with long throw projectors. Short throws haven’t been out for long. Everything has disadvantages yes, but it’s up to you.
I painted my ceiling tiles black, they still have some white specs from the indentations, but it looks good & made a huge difference with reflection. Also wrapped the track with 2" black masking tape.
@@juleocanI would completely remove them (tiles), as they could be a fire hazard??? That’s as long as they’re not hiding pipes and cables, etc, etc. Also put the rear surrounds on the stands, because having the right rear surround speaker fixed to the door frame, can be a hazard too, as it can be in the way, if there is a fire, etc, etc and you need to leave the room quickly. Think about that.
