Really liked this film. Had no idea what I was getting into, and it was a wild ride. Disagree on Joaquin's ability to do humour, I thought he was funny. Though, I think I agree about the humour in this film being more strange than funny. The whole thing was surreal, obviously, but while I found it humorous it left me strangely maudlin. I feel like Downy would have brought a completely different energy, I don't think I would have bought his hippy grunge and the vague sense of bewilderment and unease. Michael Shannon on the other hand would have been terrifying as Bigfoot.

I'm sorry, but that is a bad dad joke. Who thinks Godzilla and Mothra eat places? They dont even typically eat people, let alone buildings and parks. They destroy them, sure, but that's not eating, now is it?
So the joke doesn't begin to work, and only evinces a lack of knowledge of the subject matter by the joke teller. Someone's primary knowledge of Godzilla would have to come from Rampage the arcade and NES game to come up with that. I've never heard of this movie before now, and I'm already done with it, if that's the level of creativity and effort in the dialogue.
I know its been a while, but didn't you both write comedy? Where is your integrity as comedians, if that passes muster? Michel especially, I'm disappointed in you.
