Notice how often Cerundolo hits the ball down the line. He deceives with his body language, imitating a cross court shot, then fires it down the line. He definitely mastered that in practice
Rublev is the type who would give you the best on a good day and the worst on a bad day. Still one of my favorite players though, I'll always watch him if he's on. Cerundolo's just been on an amazing run recently, not your average opponent.

Cerundolo is just gaining confidence and his game just keeps improving all around, and he can also play on hard courts and has the size and weapons .....could he go all the way to the top 10 ? for sure he will finish top 20 this year if healthy.
As an Argentinian and also tennis fan, i've been watching how Cerundolo has been playing lately and his gameplay is increasing a lot, not quite time before he reached his first title and showed his big conditions for facing Rafa on Wimbledon as well. Impressive run from him 👏👏 🎾 🇦🇷
Rublev needs to part ways with Fernando Vicente; he needs a new coach who can work with him in other aspects of his game, rather than just baseline shots. He has a Del Potro-like forehand, and a solid backhand, unlike Berrettini, for instance. If he had a "multidimensional" game, he'd definitely be somewhat similar to Alcaraz. He's definitely one of the world's best right now, regardless of these last matches
@@nn-fo3mk While I don't think he'll ever be as good as Nalbandian or Del Potro (both had N° 1 type talent), Cerundolo is just starting to play according to his potential. He recently made improvements in his mental aspects, which used to keep him down until recently
Just been to one of his games (the final in Bådstad) and I wouldn’t call him “calm”. But the way he’s using the entire court with precision, is impressive. Mentally he might need to improve when facing the top 5 guys and not necessarily dominating the match.
Cerundolo is becoming one of my favorite players. Hi forehand is one of the best in the games. He hits what I would say a Heavy ball on the forehand side. There is a difference between pace and heavy ball. A heavy ball has so much energy it can knock your racquet out of you hands. This man will be top 5 one day.
We all know that it is useful to put top spin on the ball on a clay court because it creates higher bounce. But Rublev's weapon - his forehand is maybe 80% of flat but only 20% top spin, so the forehand speed is f**king fast, but in this video, we see that Cerundolo often hit the ball to Rublev's forehand side, that's bold from him, and if you are bold enough on the tour, you can play many good matches and jump into the top 15!
Si logra ser consistente va a ser un referente argentino de elite, tiene un tennis buenisimo, aún le falta mejorar su servicio pero tiempo al tiempo, sos dinamita pura Cerundolo. 👏

Unfortunately, today was a sad day at the office for Andrey Rublev😔 After showing some promising shots and leading 3-0 in the 1st set, a wrong call made by the chair umpire at 0-30 affected Andrey's mood and energy enourmosly. Drowning in frustration after that point, he couldn't find back his rythm or at least a bit of hope to cling on. The rest of the match showed us a disappointed Andrey who couldn't find within himself a reason to continue the fight as the sadness took over him. Andrey, I know you are not in the best mood right now and you think that the outcome of the match could have been different and you are right, but never forget that every loss, even though it is painful at the moment, is a lesson that takes you one step closer to finding new ways to improve in order to be the best version of yourself. Now take some rest and don't think about this match too much. Don't forget that we will stand by your side and support you no matter what happens! Looking forward to watch you play in Washington!🤗
I just have a feeling in the upcoming months Francisco is going to improve that backhand even more solid than it is now, and then if so, players are going to feel like they are playing a modern Argentine version of Andre Agassi, in my opinion, in terms of his hitting style (no one hits on the rise and had the timing like Agassi did), but I see some similarities with Cerundolo, he is a shotmaker. Continue on and upwards Cerundolo, he is becoming one of my favorite players to watch play on a tennis court, whether he wins or loses, just because of the way he plays, its exciting to me.
I have never seen Cerundolo play. I very much like what I saw. He does not run around his forehand, a plus. Backhand it's a weapon, technically perfect. I'll wait and see. Many had knocked at the door before.....
Big3 are from different planet, if we ignore them almost all top 250 players are playing in similar level, it won't be easy even for world no 1 Medvedev to beat any outside top50 player
Cerundolo has clearly improved recently, while Rublev keeps playing the exact same, predictable, way for years now. I'm very surprised the russian has not trying something else.
Rublev is no slouch on clay as he won in Hamburg before, so to come back from 0-3 down in the first set and win against the world number 8 is impressive.
Cerundolo found the way to keep Rublev running side to side....that is a smart game. Congrats Francisco! Just do not do " la gran argentina " , which is these new argentinian players they played well for couple of years and as soon as they have some money they get distracted with social life.......
He did - he had some great ones.. But TennisTV is often biased with its highlights - they've completely erased Rublev from this match😕 Cerundolo was really great but the match wasn't nearly as one-sided as the highlights show..
