I played wow vanilla and laughed my head off when I heard it. Wish I could have been there myself. World pvp is for griefing and the soy faced crybabies that play now more than demonstrate how weak we have become. It's a world of warcraft. No scouts running security has consequences and we are a nation of crybabies autisticly screaming I'm a victim non stop.
The crashing of the funeral caused what was essentially a huge battle between horde and alliance at Winterspring, I think that was the best way to send off the person, imagine dying in real life then an infamous enormous battle breaks out at your deathbed. Awesome.
There have been many funerals in game with many different guilds, but this one is the one that's remembered the most. What happened here is one that has gone down in WoW's history. With the guild members death that person left a legacy with this incident occurring. Because this event will never be forgotten Fayejin will never be forgotten, and a legacy regarding this person will stay with the game forever, and I personally think that's really cool no matter what happened.
This incident, and someone jumping the rope to assassinate Lord British in Ultima Online have to be the two most infamous PvP events in gaming history.
Mox ಠ ᴥ ಠ I'd want someone to crash my E-funeral too. Grimmsaw (my cousin) could lead this is if I die before he does... Maybe if perplexity plays on live he could too. I want some really good pvpers to lead my E-funeral crash

AllTimePvP nothing is as good as the original but maybe it could be epic.
@vaulty The reason the memorial was in Winterspring was because Fayejin's character was still in game it was the character in white down by the lake. apparently Fayejin was fishing when the stroke happened. so the character was still in game. (happened before AFK timers were a thing). They also werent wearing transmogs, that wasnt a thing, they were literally wearing dress robes, white quality cosmetic items from shops and tailors.
Me and my best mate at that time attended this. Back when i would play this game time to time when i visited my friend (He had a PC,i didn't, he always let me use his account when i stayed over his) and at first it was really amazing to see everyone attend, until we see what looked like 100 people running towards our group being a pvp area are the first strike happened things just went chaotic.. It turned into a slaughter.
Frodo T-bagginz WoW is a game. These people were doing a memorial for an ACTUAL death "you fuck." But your username says it all. Wannabe banger who thinks he's "bad" but would get his shit pushed in by any decent member of the human race.
Frodo T-bagginz yeah so? they have no morals attacking someone’s funeral regardless of in game or in real life. Let’s say your loved one dies and during the funeral some assholes visited and started disrespecting your loved one making a fool out of the situation. You wouldn’t feel good right? Same thing just that this is in a game. Have some fucking humanity people like you are giving gamers a bad reputation
True Gamer not i friend, horde has class too from my experiences especially in classic pvp. Now those assholes who crashed that funeral are the worst wow has to offer and i will say alot of alliance players today are just as aggressive if not worse causing alliance players with class and skill to leave for horde. It seems immature players are attracted to our faction which pisses me off greatly. I myself and my gf are going horde about 85% of our play time due to it. On behalf of us whom play alliance and have a moral code - we apologize; if we could we would round these people up and put them on an exile island server.
Look at this whight Knight in shining armor you know im a nice person thats why i play games some time and can act like a total asshole without consequences ok some people i don't Know and don't give a damn about don't like me but hey thats life.
Well, that took a dark turn. Kirk here, while claiming to be a moral puritan, wants to "round these people up". Hmmm.....if only there were real world instances of groups claiming moral superiority and rounding up those they disliked for moronic reasons........ You cannot attempt to hold the moral high ground and then call people names like a toddler. You also cannot claim these people (I was one of them) are the "worst WoW has to offer". THE HUMANITY!!!! PEOPLE PVPING ON A PVP SERVER IN A CONTESTED ZONE!!!! MONSTERS!!!!! You wanna virtue signal about what a good person you are by holding a fake funeral for a player? Do that shit in a zone we can't reach you in. The absolute fucking narcissism to think that people are going to stop playing the game how they want so you can sit around and pull your pud about what a good person you are for remembering someone who died...... The guy who died was a good guy. He was also an AVID PvPer. Do you think he would have wanted us to all sit around and sing Kumby-fucking-yah while holding hands? Or do you think a more appropriate honoring of his legacy would be to get the fuck to it and kill one another? I know that if I had died back then, I wouldn't have wanted some twat in my guild to attempt the world's first virtua-virtue signal. I'd want everyone to meet somewhere and fight that shit out. Honor me with your blood and laughter, not your tears and empty gesturing. But you are right.....the Alliance are full of fucking 12 year olds who have this white knight fantasy yet act like....well, fucking 12 year olds. Kirk seems like he'd fit right in......
Honestly if I was the player who died I would be deeply honored by the memorial and find amusement in the raid as well as how much the ordeal blew up. This is text book classic WoW.
@@thevlaka let's be honest. Nobody would even know about nor care about the person who died (apart from. The guild members) Would be another forgotten statistic. Here, they live on forever in the history of WoW as the centre of one of the most iconic game events
The guy who died was a pvp lover. The fact there was a pvp event at the funeral is just great. even if not, then dont hold a funeral at winterspring and go public with it. its a pvp server. people in general are not respectful in video games because there are no negative sides to being bad. what did you expect. this is not a problem in my opinion, its expected to happen
Theres was a similar situation in a game i played before, Called Tantra online. It was a local one nantion server. The game divides the player into three nation. One of the most respected player died of car accident. And the guild decides to hold a memorial. They got pked by their rival guild at the memorial. The resulting event was that whole guild got on the pk on sight list of every guild on the server. Even their own nation fellow guild pk them on sight. In just three days they disband and the hild leader was blacklisted from any guild. He retires shortly after.
vanilla pvp was the best wow pvp and i blame flying mounts for ruining it, it made the world so much smaller less travel distance and you could just avoid most player encounters. I miss having to log my main out wherever i was leveling my alts incase i got camped.
Its not about contested zones, or PvP, its not about game rules, its about being a decent human being, its shitting on someone's memory, a bunch of supporting people gathered to pay their respects to a fellow player, making it public was an invitation to the whole WoW community, HORDE and alliance alike, and the roles may have bin reversed, but I'm glad that in this shameful show of humanity, the HORDE players were the ones with the care and respect. And that Alliance guild, they are a bunch of pieces of shit. The lowest humanity has to offer, no respect or regard for the dead. And that's enough for me. Lok'Tar Ogar.
TooManyWallPapers It is a game, no one is saying any different, but in that game, a group of people gathered around to pay their respects to a real person, a real human being, a friend, to honor his memory, the fact that it was in a game has nothing to do with it, they players may have, must have been from all parts of the U.S and Canada, maybe they didn't have a chance to go to the funeral and say a proper goodbye to some one they considered a friend, they were even kind enough to share the information, so if any one wanted to do the same could come and share in their loss. They should have bin left alone. To mourn in peace.
You are acting like they went on a mass shooting at some high school and eat the still beating hearts of the kids, really it's kinda like dark jokes, yea its fucked up and it prob did hurt someone's feels, but nothing (of importance) was lost form making a joke.
I get that it's just a game, but they were legitimately mourning a real person and friend in the environment that their friend loved. I wouldn't have done it.
@@GooBanana @GooBanana you do realize this is a worldwide mmorpg. I'm guessing you live in fantasy land where everyone can take vacation and go anywhere they want anytime they want, and everyone lives like it's a movie. These folks were doing what they could. You're either ignorant or an idiot, your choice.
THAT IS SO WRONG! I'm on the Alliance side, and I would just go out of pure respect. I know how it feels to lose a best friend. My best friend, who was 17, a year older than me, that went to my school, passed away. I know how it feels. That was wrong for them to attack! I wish I could've gone there out of pure respect, with no harm done. I'm proud to wear the Alliance crest. No matter Horde or Alliance though, I will go to a funeral in game. It hurts to lose a friend.
Well they should kept it private not spreading the new on WWO you have to be dumb and it is like saying hello enemy guild we will not wearing our best gears come to pvp. If it was so personal they should have kept this with guild and nothing would have happen it is provokation to advertise such an event.
I was playing World of Warcraft the day it happened I remember hearing about it through chat Channel. As a PVP player it felt so good to hear about this because someone who was a PVP player was being honored by PVPers the way that a PVP player who would expect their day to go in battle. This man and his life have become lore. Such is his glory for braving the PVPs golden years.
Hobu123 and if anything... If this never happened we would of forgotten her, but these guys crashing it legendary.... Also her favourite aspect of the game was pvp.
That's a dumb reason. If we didn't do it someone else would have, but did you get attacked by someone else? What? No it was just you oh well then looks like nobody else would have. Personally I kinda expect honour and respect for a fallen gamer regardless of the place but yeah I can see how they should have probably expected an attack of they're announcing it publicly
Hey buddy how did said dead person log in? You realize someone else logging in on that account is against the ToS right? It's a video game. I'd rather something like this be done in a game rather than IRL. That being said maybe keep it close and not public, however on the flipside...now she's e-famous.
This was extremely disrespectful. Granted I would have held it into a city where it would not be so easy for the Alliance to attack. I wonder how many people from that time still play WoW. I stopped playing about 8 years ago (last played in November 2010 and I had about three main characters that were 80.
Imagine if the alliance guild had gathered their troops and appeared at the wedding, yet instead of butchering the horde they would have gathered to pay their respects. That sort of a gesture cross faction would certainly have been powerful and infuse hope in humanity, however it would probably never reach the mainstream media. Sort of sad that the beautiful stories never get passed on.
Sebruz back in the day on our realm there was tons of open PvP, which, however, included low level killing, or ganking people for hours -which often enough lead to huge battles, but at some point people got bored of it, so the biggest guilds met on a TeamSpeak and discussed how to at least lower the low level killing, and how to be able to farm somewhat in peace. They ended up in an agreement, where on day X Horde and Alliance got got to farm specific types of herbs, and ore, and the next day the roles were reversed, while also agreeing, that low levels will be left alone, as long as they stayed within the rules. It still somewhat amazes me, what kind of interaction goes on between players of different factions. Of course at some point the agreement went to shit, and there had to be a new one, but for the time the agreements lasted you could have a nice time doing whatever
I like how, by the way you tell it, the alliance sh*tstain of a guild filled with low lives isn't to blame, but those who tried to do something sweet for a person for whom they cared about. Love it. Just awesome.
You realize shit happens like this on both sides right? Maybe not at this scale though....This was a massive endeavor. That said though...If it was my funeral, or some of my guildies, they and I, would have considered it an honor that the horde took time out of their day just to come raid our funerals. lol
Shaave Beathbox Yeah we got massacred by Alliance players, reason number one why I am Horde. Victor Chong Horde is not family, don't kid yourself. The Horde is a collection of all excluded races on Azeroth in one facton. That's exactly why the whole expansion of WoD happened, Garrosh became tyrannical and disliked by the other races of the Horde. Unless you have similar domestic problems, it would be wildly absurd to even draw that premise at all.
Peter Crawford: Funeral, no. Pizza party, yes. Raid the shit out of fun meetings, not something serious that is representative of a real effort to honor and remember and in this case mourn about a real world incident.
I mean... I feel like as a player at the time, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Hell, I would have preferred if my guildies threw a Winterspring PvP Funeral Extravaganza. Inviting the entire server to come and duke it out to celebrate both my life and favorite game. Then afterward, have the mourning part in Booty Bay. Those goblins would make sure people behave.
I wouldn't have started playing way back in vanilla without this video. I owe this video two full years of my life (game time, not total). I purposely rolled Alliance on Illidan and was even briefly in Serenity Now.
Oh the venilla times brings back so much nostalgia. Loved those random pvp battles that could pop up at any moment. Even a simple copper node could trigger such an event. Now that’s a time long forgotten but the memories lives on
In a game. A funeral - in a GAME (that's already BEYOND messed up). What's next? Battlefield funeral? "I'm sorry but it's inappropiate to play a game in this game right now cause we are holding a funeral." Or let's just go to a real life football match and hold a funeral there.. "Sorry but no football match on this football field today, please leave now." Being a fucked up nerd is no excuse for being insane.
W4tch0ut its a game... if anything the person who died was a gamer, it’s amazing to know that an insane battle occurred over your funeral Jk lol but still it is a game m8
W4tch0ut they never said they couldn't play the game, the alliance guild out leveled the zone by like 20 levels and the only reason they went there was to be ass hats. I have made some of the best friends I'll ever have through playing games and if one of them died you bet your fucking ass that we'd do somthing in game to honor them. We make life long friends on the internet, people get married, people meet up, it happens and if you think what that guild did is justified then I'm sorry but you are a terrible human being.
As far as I’m concerned that’s almost the same as running through a real funeral throwing eggs at the casket. In game or not, they were paying respects to a close friend that passed away. The fact that they not only attacked them but literally KNEW WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY TO PLAN THE RAID is just disgusting. Regardless if it’s a game or not, that is where that person went to be with their friends and that was a major part of their social world. I’ve never played WoW but I was big into another MMO in my youth, if my clan even spoke about doing that I would leave, that’s something a child would do, someone that doesn’t fully understand how bad that is or someone that is just a piece of shit human being(such as the fully grown leader of that clan). That kind of disrespect and shitty thought process doesn’t just disappear when it’s transferred to the real world, that person/peoples are just terrible humans.
Stop comparing apples to oranges. I would do this in a PvP game, but would never do this in real life. These alliance players would never do the same either.
Whether being a contested pvp zone or not. This was just uncalled for. I have played games similar to wow. A lot of open pvp zones, loads of competition for guild zones, materials bla bla. I guarantee, no one would have ever done this in those games. Because they are basic human beings. They are not just going around crashing a meaningless in-game wedding between a guy and another guy who pretends to be a girl. They crashed a funreal. For a real person. A real death. They called out people in the post who knew her and wanted to come to funreal. Now, I dunno about you, but even in games with factions, rivaling guilds or kingdoms...if you are a decent human being you tend to make friends with the enemy. I´m guessing they posted it their because they didn´t want anyone to be left out. Because who knew, maybe she had alliance friends who really would have loved to come. Either way. Their behavior is not justified. Yes its a game. Yes its a pvp zone. YES its contested. But this is funreal. By people who loved her when she was alive. People who actually cared. It just goes to show what garbage human beings they are, as well as people who defend this. No matter it being a game. You should always strive to be a decent human being in situations like this, that are real. Imma bet you 5 kwid this cucumber leader of serenity was just acting out his "cool/badass" online persona he created for himself cause he can´t do shit right in his life, got no friends, no lover and lives with his mum. Him laughing at what he is done is utterly disgusting. It may have been in a video game. But it was still a very real funreal. And he ruined it. Garbage human being.
This was one of the great moments of wow like more dots or Leeroy. My take was: they player that passed away was a pvp'er... what better way to respect and honor his memory than to have a massive battle at his funeral going down in wow history. I think it would have been more disrespectful to NOT have land-marked this moment in a way that it would never be forgotten.
Changed days.Recently on several servers there was a funeral/wake for Reckful who sadly took his own life and was very well known. On just about all those servers there were horde and alliance players standing side by side in places like Stormwind Cathederal, now that is respect is for a fellow player. What this guild did back in the day was imo disrespectful and wrong as it would be if they crashed a real life funeral or wake.
the person loved an area that was contested! they held it in this area to honor him! the guild that attacked honored him by making it what the person loved!
Im also a Hardcore MMORPG player. What the Raiders did was very DISRESPECTFUL. Like what youve said that Fat Ass Guy has NO LIFE and they also Proved that they have no HUMANITY! They decided to attack even though they knew that this was in Honor of their Co-player's death in real life! They should have paused and think that after the "so-called funeral" in game.. they can Resume playing all they want! But that guy wont be playing the gave he trully loved!
The horde guild failed to capitalize on a great event. Pvp server you have to know the attack would come. So you trap them under the guise of a funeral.
Interesting comments on this post from both sides, in my opinion what the alliance did was disrespectful, and they should have either attended and waited, or attacked when it was over, attacking during the remembrance was way low for any gamer. We gamer are supposed to have a code of conduct, (ie no cheating etc) but these guys made me feel awful. now. those of you who say that its just a game, as has been pointed out, yes, but it was to remember someone.. no the game wasn't the person but the thought was.. Just like a grave stone isn't the person but its for the memory, how would you feel if it was a gravestone that was damaged, (same thing, its not the person but the thought and the remembrance). i can see someone pointing out that a gravestone isn't a game, and i agree, but as has been stated before, the gravestone just like the game, is a way to remember someone. so in essence they are the same. absolute disgusting etiquette and activities by this clan.
World of Warcraft is primarily played by males over the age of 18. Yet the amount of people in the comments that are acting like the Alliance guild committed war crimes equal to the Geneva Conventions is astonishing. Yeah, I don't think the raid was the right thing to do, but what do you expect from a community as convoluted as World of Warcraft? They did it on a PvP server, in a PvP zone, and advertised the funeral on the forums. They were foolish and shortsighted to not expect something like that to happen. Blizzard might as well just change the name to Plushy Plushy Fun Times because even when fights do happen in a game about fighting, people still act like little children.
I've never played World of Warcraft. But the way you describe how PVP was back then, that actually sounds pretty cool! The fact that it's unscripted is what gets me hyped about the way it was. The fact that the world is so big in this game, I'm assuming it's big, that you can actually get enough players to dress up for an event like a funeral, and have other players form of strategy and Ambush them without them knowing as if it was real life.
The WoW world is bigger than big. It is continents big. HUGE. I have lost count of the number of zones available in the game, with most zones being really large areas. Back in the early days each server was on it's own and not linked to other servers like they are today. There would be 20-40 thousand people on a server and they formed an extended community. You got to know many people and they would be there day after day, week after week, month after month. In today's cross linked servers you are lucky to see the same person more than once. The WoW world has become much less community oriented. This is probably why the recent Classic servers are so popular.... community.
Idk A funeral? I guess theb there are no moral boundries I wish they did something so disrespectfull in real life But they won't because they would get their asses kicked
Idk Lmao you telling me what outside is hahaha. Ofcourse they held a real funeral but it was a nice guesture for fellow gamers that played with him. If you supoort those basment dwellers for doing what they did by crashing the funeral, you weren't beaten enough by your parrents so I'd love to finish their unfinished lessons
I remember that i play a game called cloudnine a few years ago were one person that just pass away on a car accident was a known player on that game, the friends of this person make her a funeral in game too.i remember that the guild of that person invest alot of money buying items like megaphones and all that to let the whole server know how important was this person to them,i feel touch by those players and i actally went to the funeral too,it was the 1st time i saw how important are the friends you made on online games.
I was a Tauren Warrior (Sader) in the guild with Fayejin. An Orc Warlock (Yanoa) was her boyfriend that posted on the forums about having an in-game funeral for her. Our guild name was Malediction. So glad to be a part of WoW history!
For me it is a matter of respecting the one who has died in reallife. Did Serenity show that proper respect or no? I would have to say no, therefore they get a thumbs down from me.
It was one of the best things done in wow and truly shows the separation between the amazing gaming of 12 yrs ago and this new SJW snowflake play style of today.
Nightdr83 Blizzard would ban people for doing this now. Almost all my characters had to be renamed. Got a 16 day suspension for all them. Was not an issue up until Legion and I had them since Burning Crusade and Wrath. The names weren't medieval enough for the Rp/PvP realm I play on all of a sudden.
None of the gankers cause any problem in the actual real funeral. in the other hand, in an MMO Role Playing Game we decide to play any kind of Role. Some times we choose to play the ROLE of a bad person that ruins funerals. If you can't stand these kind of roles do your funeral in pve realms.
Back in the day I played a game called Jumpgate which was like a multi-player elite in space. When I played the player base was still fairly vibrant and a couple decided to role play their characters wedding in space. As part of a pirate group we mass raided the wedding procession and there was a large cheer on coms when the brides ship exploded. Needless to say we were not to popular on the forums for a while :)
".. were in transmog sets". I love this line. I really do. I just picture very new people scratching their head and thinking to themselves, "What does their transmog have to do with anything?" XD Also, WORCRAFTZ R TEH SRS BZNZ!!!!!robblerobble!
The fuck to you mean "our" defence and "did not know it was a funreal". If you mean you actually were in that guild, then did your sad sack of shit of a leader just say "Aye gather there and lets raid those nakes dudes by the lake"? And ya´ll went like "oh damn count me in"? There was a public post on the forums. Did ya even read it or just follow your leaders whims?
Big Green If wow servers are still on if I bite the dust I'd EXPECT my guys to let mayhem and chaos rain upon our pvp enemies in my honor! Same as we did with a group of guild mates when a guild member suddenly died (it was a work accident, his wife was so kind to inform us). We went to every place we knew he liked to mess around and started fights everywhere and finished with a drunk raid in karazhan, his all-time fav raid, where we told each other stories about him. I'm sure he liked that a lot.
I used to play a game called Seafight where pvp was a big thing. I remember someone in the server loved pvp and after passing away there was a sort of a funeral held for him. Several guilds from different alliances were there because the person was know to many. After the funeral everyone agreed to close out the event by going all out and it was amazing. I guess my point is that there is a way to do things. Even if it's just a game if people are gathered to pay their respects for someone they cared who just passed, it's shameful to take advantage of that.
some corrections. there was less than 40 of us, not 100. I warned them on the forums we would crash it. my opinion is still: you can't join a game for killing other players, call timeout for a lame RP event. red is dead. I believe they were able to finish the video afterwe left.
I've seen stuff like this happen before in numerous games. I've even participated in funerals that were held in-game. There's a point that is being missed here. The argument that it's just a game is only part of the picture as a whole. Sure Serenity Now played within the rules of the game, but that doesn't make their actions any less disrespectful. Just because an action is within the games rules doesn't mean that said action should be taken. While this is just a game and you can claim it's content is not real, what is real are the bonds between players who spent many hours together running dungeons, raids, etc. The members of the guild were trying to do something nice for a friend and Serenity Now decided to take advantage of it. Quite honestly, the guild hosting this funeral should have expected a raid to occur simply by virtue of being in a PVP zone and instructed members to be equipped appropriately. Every game has griefers and unless you can successfully negotiate a special event with the makers of the game, one should expect the worst to happen. As such, shame on the guild for not being prepared, and shame on Serenity Now for being douchebags. On a side note: In EVE Online, tanking the gate guns in safe space, while fully legal within the game's architecture, is a bannable offense. Slightly old info on my part since I haven't played since 2011, so I couldn't say whether or not anything has changed on that front.
You got to love all the cancerous WoW players who think that this was not at all tastless. I mean WoW is a great game and all, but really the lengths these people will go to.
What is with this medieval mindset of respecting ones death? What’s truly tasteless is the fact that they had a funeral on a damn game - on a PVP server and in a contested zone, no less. A game isn’t a place to hold a funeral. I have no pity for any of the «victims».
moon. You are aware that she had a funeral in real life right? This was her friends ,who lived all around the country and world, gathering. She played WoW alot, and guess what? Her toon was created on this server, that means that even if they wanted to, they couldnt take the toon to another server. The zone was her favorite zone. Honestly if you can't see why it was toxic for them to crash the funeral then you're just as toxic.
There is no need for a virtual funeral, sweetie. Even so they could have used their brain for .2 seconds and think that maybe having a «funeral» in a contested zone on a PVP server isn’t the smartest thing in the world. I truly do not care if it was her favorite zone or not - she wont be there to see it. The purpose of funerals is to «ease the pain» of a loved ones death, for those who are still alive. So why in all hell did their dumbasses risk it? (Though I somewhat doubt that she would have cared... if she was alive and COULD care) I see no reason for a virtual funeral. On top of that it wasn’t even a ‘personal’ funeral considering it was advertised for. If I’m not wrong most of the people there didn’t even know who the hell she was, and they don’t really care for her or her passing. Only superficially... to feel good about themselves, most likely.
This was widely condemned when it actually happened, even appearing on Cracked's biggest "phallus" moves in gaming. Seems like now people are more ok with it. I guess 14 years is also enough time for people who were young kids when this happened to now be legal adults. I was like 11 when this happened and there were a lot of "what did you expect on a pvp server?" responses, but most people seemed sympathetic. And considering how much more toxic the internet was in 2005-2006, that's really saying something. 😂
Jiri Pirinen So because your friends want to hold a memorial in a game for you you aren't living life to the fullest? I think you aren't living life to the fullest if you decide to judge someone's location of a get-together instead of how it is spent
as creepy bunny said, what's it matter? playing games is actually fun and can release a ton of stress from a lot of people(stressful jobs, depression) it's a hobby for some people, and let them do whatever the hell they want, don't force them to live 'life' properly and not 'live' in a false reality, as you said. unless these people are running away from responsibilities(actually getting a job and do not require parents to pay for their living expenses) then let them do what makes them happy
What i'm trying to say is, life is stressful, and people who play games wan't to get out of life sometimes, and that's why they play games... is that not better than killing yourself due to tension living everyday life? judging by your comment you're probably an older guy who only looks at the negative impacts of gaming
It's a shame they weren't more respectful, but you gotta admit that would have been epic to participate, and his memory lives on in an epic event in his favorite game.....It's all about perspective ......
a video game is not for a funeral. I think it's more of a joke than a paying of respect that they did this. they shouldve known they were vulnerable and they shouldve seen it coming. it's a video game.
Biscuit - So? It holds a special spot in my heart but I don't want a funeral for myself in this game. That would show how pathetic and miserable my life was
That video is fucking HILARIOUS! People need to stop getting so butthurt over this game. I know people who are complete assholes online, yet they are great people in real life. This funeral was held in a virtual PvP zone on a realm that is designed for PvP, hence the name PvP realm. I would have done the exact same thing as Serenity Now because it is free honor/PvP points. If you want to have a funeral then go to the REAL funeral, not some dumb virtual one. These people go onto a PvP realm and announce an event in a pvp contested zone. Gee, why wouldn't a group of players crash it? I don't like blaming the "victims," but in this case it is the victims fault. They could have done this elsewhere on a non PvP realm if they had to do it in WoW, which was obviously the life of this dead players friends since they had a funeral virtually, or they could have actually gone to the REAL funeral. If this happened today on the PvP realm I play on there would have been 4-5 Alliance pvp guilds attacking the Horde here and camping them. If it was an Alliance funeral then the Horde would have done the exact same thing but with more numbers. Thats how a PvP realm works, you go on the realm to PvP, not RP a funeral. If someone held a funeral for me in WoW and it got raided I would be watching and enjoying every moment, watching my friends/guildies getting killed in the game while I watch from Heaven or Hell.
I remember it, I also remembered that toons transferred off the server from Serenity Now due to the alliance disassociated them so much that in an MMO, nobody wanted to game with you with that guild name on display. It was tasteless for sure.
Who dafuq even have a fcking funeral in a video game!??? Plus the guild asked for it anyways, announcing publicly to everyone, that's such a stupid move that deserved to get raided of course. Criticize me all you want, I just find it as a major food source for trolls that are everywhere and honestly not many people really do give a F- cuz they dunno that individual nor I do.
His friends died in battle...at his funeral!
What a glorious day this must have been!
Right!
They're all drinking on Valhalla now
I played wow vanilla and laughed my head off when I heard it.

Awesome.
personally if my wow funeral was raided I would be laughing my ass off in heaven and accept that that's just wow
Good luck with that imagination.
They made it legendary
What makes you think you're going to heaven :3 jkjkjk
I was thinking it was a basic wow honoring. So I'm good with it.
What gives you even the slightest bit of reason to believe your heaven exists? Good luck!
As a fellow pvper had this been my funeral my only regret would be that I couldn’t participate dropping dank heals from heaven
I'd be honored if my e-funeral got crashed tbh
Shhhh! Don't let the sensitive people see that! Their feels man... their feels.
I'd probably agree. I'd ask Jesus to bring some holy popcorns so I'd see action when I'm dead.
Agreed, at least people can have fun honoring me
Mox ಠ ᴥ ಠ I'd want someone to crash my E-funeral too.
NO THEY SHOULD HAVE HIRED OTHER GUIDES TO GUARD THE FUNERAL LIKE POLICE OFFICERS OMFSG WHY NO ONE THOUGHT OF THIS
Me and my best mate at that time attended this.

Frodo T-bagginz Well that doesn't matter you can still be polite and they were going to show the family
Frodo T-bagginz WoW is a game. These people were doing a memorial for an ACTUAL death "you fuck." But your username says it all. Wannabe banger who thinks he's "bad" but would get his shit pushed in by any decent member of the human race.
lol you people are so butt hurt
If you think matters like this are only divided by real world and video game. You are delusional.
Funny how Alliance players claim Horde players are classless.
True Gamer ähem we dont 1v50
I am Alliance pvp player and I admit both sides have scumbags, honorless acts are not bound to 1 faction, it's players not faction
Honestly if I was the player who died I would be deeply honored by the memorial and find amusement in the raid as well as how much the ordeal blew up. This is text book classic WoW.

I don't think you should be looking to video games for hope in humanity

You realize shit happens like this on both sides right? Maybe not at this scale though....This was a massive endeavor. Horde is family, alliance serve a monarch boy king. That alone is reason why Horde>Alliance

If it had been my funeral, I would have love the fact that it happened. IT WAS HILARIOUS :-)

His guild should have actually been ready to fight

Completely agree!
There was a lot of "honor" given at this Funeral.

This is probably why the recent Classic servers are so popular.... community.
Really people dont understand ... they tried to revived her by making a big sacrifice 🙏🙏🙏🧟♂️🧟♀️👁

Ofcourse they held a real funeral but it was a nice guesture for fellow gamers that played with him.
If you supoort those basment dwellers for doing what they did by crashing the funeral, you weren't beaten enough by your parrents so I'd love to finish their unfinished lessons
That was pretty fucked up.
Dumbest thing ever.
Lmfao... I love this haha... this makes me want to play World of Warcraft
It makes me want to die and hope this happens.
It's a SJW shithole now, don't bother.
Idk he looks like he reeks of body odor and hot pockets
These guys invented Borderlands logic 3 years before Gearbox.
President king jum oon has died thos evening
America:If we didnt do it someone else would
🎇🎆🌇
who the fuck is king jum oon? and why are you comparing apples to oranges?
KenuNation i think you mean king jong OOF
It was one of the best things done in wow and truly shows the separation between the amazing gaming of 12 yrs ago and this new SJW snowflake play style of today.
Nightdr83
Blizzard would ban people for doing this now. Almost all my characters had to be renamed. Got a 16 day suspension for all them. Was not an issue up until Legion and I had them since Burning Crusade and Wrath. The names weren't medieval enough for the Rp/PvP realm I play on all of a sudden.
How horrible
K2 FU ye
Is this sarcasm?
NEEEEERRRRRDS!!!
i know right, these greasy unemployed virgins thought of nothing else than "paying respects" for an another dead virgin on a game!
My thoughts exactly, this showed up randomly and I had to watch it. People are actually crying about it ffs, its a game 😂😂
but its a real person that died how dense are you dumbasses
None of the gankers cause any problem in the actual real funeral. in the other hand, in an MMO Role Playing Game we decide to play any kind of Role. Some times we choose to play the ROLE of a bad person that ruins funerals. If you can't stand these kind of roles do your funeral in pve realms.
RANDY!
I just picture very new people scratching their head and thinking to themselves, "What does their transmog have to do with anything?" XD
Also, WORCRAFTZ R TEH SRS BZNZ!!!!!robblerobble!
In our defence we did not know it was a funeral.
Bulletproof Chiminchanga You're a bit salty imo. We saw a defensless group and attacked it. Anyone would've done it.
Anime girls are more attractive than real ones doesnt really mean anything.
Anime girls are more attractive than real ones that sounds pretty salty
The person who died was a pvper, they prob would have loved it. Today's community of lfr scrubs just don't get it.
why do you think wow is for such pussys now
how many wow players today would of lasted 5 min in pre bc servers ^_-
Big Green If wow servers are still on if I bite the dust I'd EXPECT my guys to let mayhem and chaos rain upon our pvp enemies in my honor!
Even if it's just a game if people are gathered to pay their respects for someone they cared who just passed, it's shameful to take advantage of that.
or you are being so blind to not consider that it was a thing for a lot of people, like her parents, that would have assisted the scene.
some corrections. there was less than 40 of us, not 100. I warned them on the forums we would crash it. my opinion is still: you can't join a game for killing other players, call timeout for a lame RP event. red is dead.
I believe they were able to finish the video afterwe left.
snpagy I mean...I regret nothing either.
Wut
I remember watching the original videos and laughing my ass off.
You got to love all the cancerous WoW players who think that this was not at all tastless. I mean WoW is a great game and all, but really the lengths these people will go to.
Random Nerd right? Evil spawns they have absolutely no respect for a random girl that died. God damn I'm so mad.
(Though I somewhat doubt that she would have cared... if she was alive and COULD care)
I see no reason for a virtual funeral. On top of that it wasn’t even a ‘personal’ funeral considering it was advertised for. If I’m not wrong most of the people there didn’t even know who the hell she was, and they don’t really care for her or her passing. Only superficially... to feel good about themselves, most likely.
Using the word "cancerous" about anything other than cancer is tasteless
Nah nah, this is hilarious
Forever virgins everywhere.
RIP JANTZ
I still remember his name because of this. Happy Flowers never forget
4D trolling
*If I had wow funeral held after my death, I probably didnt live life to the fullest.*
Jiri Pirinen So because your friends want to hold a memorial in a game for you you aren't living life to the fullest? I think you aren't living life to the fullest if you decide to judge someone's location of a get-together instead of how it is spent
tell me, what is your definition of 'living life to the fullest'?
What's it matter? The best way to live life is doing exactly what makes you happy. Who are you to say otherwise?
as creepy bunny said, what's it matter? playing games is actually fun and can release a ton of stress from a lot of people(stressful jobs, depression) it's a hobby for some people, and let them do whatever the hell they want, don't force them to live 'life' properly and not 'live' in a false reality, as you said.
unless these people are running away from responsibilities(actually getting a job and do not require parents to pay for their living expenses) then let them do what makes them happy
What i'm trying to say is, life is stressful, and people who play games wan't to get out of life sometimes, and that's why they play games... is that not better than killing yourself due to tension living everyday life?
judging by your comment you're probably an older guy who only looks at the negative impacts of gaming
They should've put a replica of the dead chick in the game.......as a target dummy
It's a shame they weren't more respectful, but you gotta admit that would have been epic to participate, and his memory lives on in an epic event in his favorite game.....It's all about perspective ......
The player that died was a huge PVP fan and would have really appreciated it in her honour.
a video game is not for a funeral. I think it's more of a joke than a paying of respect that they did this. they shouldve known they were vulnerable and they shouldve seen it coming. it's a video game.
Yea you are correct that a video game isnt for a funeral but the guy who died irl had this game have a special spot in his heart.
Biscuit - So? It holds a special spot in my heart but I don't want a funeral for myself in this game. That would show how pathetic and miserable my life was
Shows what Biscuit knows. It was a chicky dee. Not a dude.
that still doesnt make it right. even if it is a game.
Dante1255 I agree that they should've known that there's digusting shameless people out there
Nice.. And respecteble? What game were you playing? :/
Been hunting down classic wow stories, I can’t wait for classic for new stories to be told
I remember this. Our gm came back from the funeral and there was a officer meeting.
After the meeting we practiced zero tolerance towards alliance.
Wow you guys sound like such badasses!!!
I remember this. I was there just as a bystander and died. Ahhh, good old college days.
“Fellow soldiers we died honoring our mate”
I was on a pvp server back on WoW vanilla and when our guild heard that this had happend we laughed and said we would have done it too.
