Thanks for the tour of your collection. Also thanks for all your hard work entertaining the people of the world.
Thanks so much Peter for giving us an insight into your garden and your ukulele collection, I enjoyed it so much.
Hope to see you soon again in Germany. Keep healthy and in good mood..
These uke players are obviously real characters with huge personality's. We need more of these videos showing their off stage yarns and passions. Perhaps no more showering but it does show that they have wide ranges of hard casenesses. Lucky he isn't playing the bagpipes. They are the only instrument that gets better the further away they get.
Loved that! After many years of many different jobs including being a Branch Manager for Plumb Center, I took redundancy from Wolseley 11 years ago and started working as a self employed gardener 10 years ago (a job I still do). I took up playing (very much an over statement) the Ukulele aged 59 two years ago so I guess there's hope for me yet! 😊
What a delightful modest gentleman and quality no quantity is obviously his mantra!
The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain’s lockdown posts are helping me survive the pandemic. Thank you for so generously sharing your talents, humor and kindness.
You make it all sound so simple. I can only imagine how much fun it must be to whip a little uke out your bag and lift a room with all that spirit and delight. Cheers.
I love the way this vid started with the scaled model of George in your garden although without his uke lol.
I'm really glad you all are sharing yourselves with all this videos! Really cool to know a bit more about you all. I hope you continue to do this after this weirdness is over with. Thank you!
I dont often do gardening but when I do I always wear my tuxedo!!! Thank you UOGB for all the postings during this lockdown! ❤❤❤
GORGEOUS sound from that steel-strung electric!
Thanks for showing us your ukes Peter...stay safe...
I loved the tennis racket cover!!!! I mean LOVED IT! Thanks for a wonderfully entertaining interview.
I discovered you guys about 6 or 7 years ago when my Mother n Law sent me your video of GOOD BAD AND THE UGLY. I started looking all over to find more songs. It also got me to playing the Uke as well. I can't wait til yall start touring again and come to the Phoenix area. Keep going strong.
Great video, lovely seeing the individual members getting a chance to chat, play, be daft. Clearly lovely people, the lot of you!
Love this Peter - thanks so much. My luthier husband was watching closely, LOL
Really enjoyed seeing your ukes, something magical about seeing other peoples collections, its the same with records, nothing better than having a rummage through someone elses 👍Excellent
Thank you for showing us your ukes. I'm an absolute beginner and over 2 months now have 3 ukuleles to match the number of chords I've mastered. Stay safe and keep well.
Only two!, your just not trying, as my friend Jo says you can never have too many Uke's, and I happen to agree with her!, seriously though, keep practising, I love my Ukulele, even though I'm very new to it and not very good, I only took up the instrument in June last year, playing with a local group, we are all of varying abilities, very musical, most of us play or try to play more than one instrument, we have very similar tastes in music and opinions on life, we have a bloody good laugh every week, keep stretching ourselves musically and are always supportive, there is no negativity in our group, and like George, Pete Jonty and all the other wonderful members of the Uke's we never take ourselves too seriously, I sing quite well, I am really a tenor and have sung in two choirs, but I have quite a good range and I can sing falsetto, and do when we do Tiny Tim's version of Tiptoe through the Tulips, I love these little cameo pieces by all the individual Uke's members and their terrific virtual concerts, check out their take on Kraftwerk 's The Model, it's brilliant, one day when the storm clouds roll away again I want to see them live, but this is the next best thing!, maybe we will run in to each other at one of their concerts sometime, I am really missing playing with my mates at present, I am still working as my firm are considered essential, most of my Ukeing friends are self isolating due to age and general health though
This was very informative and funny, thank you ,for sharing your collection.
Ver nice Pete you have an amazing display of ukulele's i remembered Tiny Tim he was sure a fascinating guy and especially George Formby his house wasn't far from my parent's house that was before i was born but down the track mum use to stroll me in my pram past George Formby's derelict house near Wigan i believe, I'm now situated in Australia now and i very much enjoy you guys 😀your all extremely talented it's a pleasure to listen you all😍💖😉
Thankyou what fun, so glad you share your collection with us, thankyou again and play on. Byebye
😁 Great! We enjoyed every minute of it!
Thanks for this bonus video, all helping to keep us entertained during lockdown. I don't know if you chaps know how much of an inspiration you are!
Uhh
Thanks, Peter! Great collection of ukes in the garden! I really enjoyed that!
Thank you for sharing with us! I look forward to seeing you if/when you come back to the U.S. actually I'm excited!!
Great collection Peter.
A gorgeous collection, thank you Peter! 💜
Thanks very much Peter, jolly interesting collection you have.
Thank you Peter
Wow love your different ukuleles they are amazing sounds love them! and thank you for sharing them with everyone Peter
Peter, just a fantastic story thankyou..see you in Liverpool at the Philharmonic in November 2022..👍
Best wishes to you and the guys ...from
Clive from Southport Merseyside...
Peer Howlett makes wonderful videos of making ukes as well. Thanks for this great video!
This was really fun and funny! Thanks. I'd have a safer lockdown if I would give up the gardening - helping my brother in his yard here in Hawaii, I stepped in a hole and fell onto the lava rock. My knee and shin do not look pretty, but I'll survive. :-P And if I keep eating like I've been, I'll look like the Buddha at the beginning of this clip. Thanks again - I love these videos!!
That monty don impression at the start is bang on
Love it Peter, always suspected that Jonty was a secret Rock Soloist!, you have a lovely collection of Uke's, I am also intrigued that you favour the soprano, I always struggle with the instrument, much prefer my concert size Tanglewood, and I have much smaller hands than yours for Chording
Thoroughly enjoyed watching that Peter. Thank you for sharing.
Hello Peter, thank you for the entertaining videos. Could you possibly upload some more footage from the nightclub, it had me in tears :-)
Any chance of a Heavy Formby album?
You GUYS are soooooo Awesome!!!
Thank you so much! They are amazing!
Sorry about having neighbors like that, what a drag. Just the other day MY inconsiderate neighbors came banging on my door at 2:30 in the morning! Can you Believe it?? Luckily I was already awake, since I was practicing on my drums at the time. Lovely ukulele collection Peter, I must try some of your alternate tunings sometime. Stay safe! Cheers!
Hilarious!
Love it!!!
I really enjoyed this! Thank you Peter!
Thank you for sharing 🦋
Love this 😷
That's so cool, thanks for sharing 😀
It’s nice to see that the members of the UOGB are actually Normal people behind their pop star status. I enjoyed the video very much and look forward to more of the same. Many thanks😷
I had a hunch they were all very funny people as well as good entertainers.
Nice collection. At the start, I thought you were going to pull your ukulele's out of the soil in your garden and say that you grew them in your spare time. :)
Erwin S - would be so good 😊
I loved this, thank you for sharing!!!!!
Good of you to show use your ukes love the orcestra and you are a top man, I'm a guitar man myself fingers to big to play uke I've tried belive me lol.
Awesome..enjoyed
Love the jacket... and the playing. Cheers.
Thank you. very enjoyable.
That was delightful, thank you! Perhaps next time we could have a tour of your garden?
Like Oliver Wendell Douglas of Green Acres we see Peter in his tree stumping tuxedo.
Fun clip.
The tennis racket case is genius !!! 😂
Very interesting.... thanks for the video...
Thanks 👍 stay safe
Hi Peter!!!
Nice collection. I have a couple sopranos but I don’t enjoy playing them. I prefer my concert or the tenors. I have a solid body uke much like yours. I like to plug 🔌 my ones with pickups in & fiddle around with the amp settings. Jonty was getting some great Claptonesque sounds out of that little solid body. I tend to carry a uke around the house & bust out some chords. I got very nice cases for my uke but I bought them in the last 5+ years. I like playing uses & I don’t care who thinks they’re nerdy. Be safe. 👍☮️🌞🦠😷🎼
Peter, wath a good Name😉❤👍
I'll have to drag my mother-in-law's 80s tennis bags out for cases! Height of fashion, you know....
Great little overview of your collection. Did I spot a VOX amp hiding behind you? Shades of the Beatles! My first amp was a VOX in 1965. Being from Michigan, I was quite in demand - but sadly just for my amp!
Thanks for sharing that Peter - perhaps I will keep my Beltona. What's with the red jacket, any story behind it?
Nice video.
Sir apart from ur talent and passion for ukelele..One thing is for sure sir that when u were young you were very handsome and cute and could become a romantic Hollywood hero .....now u have become a graceful person 🙂....u have a perfect camera face ...God bless u...
Just found out about y’all recently!! ❤
😍
❤
Do folks look at you strangely as you're walking by all dressed up with bow tie carrying an old tennis case? LOL
radical
Thanks Peter, enjoyed the tour, but think you had some nerve to call Tiny Tim weird. HaHa
Great - thanks. I still don't get the alternate tuning thing (which I think Hester does too?). Are there any advantages to not using GCEA? Does it makes chords easier?
Is someone attempting 'Les trois gymnopodies' on uke in the background? Sounds like a great idea!
Ukelele and gardening I thought you were going to play "tip toe through the tulips?
But that was a good story about tiny tim rip
People's attitudes to the ukulele have certainly changed! It is the people's choice
Tiny Tim died in Des Moines, Iowa
Like some kind of Monty Python sketch.. 😁🎶
Does your steel-string uke have a truss rod to support the neck?
Nao.domino o inglês, entao, nao sei o.que dizem, mas amo o que tocam. Por que nao tocam.uma música brasileira? Mas que nao seja Garota de Ipanema
Gee. You live next to Muggels
Ukuleles with amp plugs?! Wherever would you get one?
All but one of my ukuleles are acoustic/electric. Have to be able to play through an amp when performing with my friends on electric guitars.
Any good music shop these days, I have an electro acoustic Uke, it's a lovely Tanglewood, I have it's brother too which is acoustic only, I think looking at them they came from the same tree!, these things were uncommon once, but that was before George and Kitty bless her memory, had their wonderful idea, and the rest as they say is history, they have probably done more to popularize the instrument than any other group of musicians anywhere, and that is not an overstatement...
Hello 👋 are you Shaft ??
Thinking about what you said about Tiny Tim borrowing your resonator ukulele... Did he need to reverse the string order of your ukulele because he plays the ukulele left-handed? 😀
So British, wearing a suit while gardening.
A Gentleman should be properly attired at all times!
Tiny Tim---Comes over to do a ukulele tour and forgets to bring it with him_____? Speaks well for his Darwin level.
Hahaha! You should get a Maccaferri to play under the shower, Peter!
These guys take formal wear way too seriously!! 🙃🙃
