What a Morning For Boat Launching Off Hastings Beach it's a four-man operation + a mighty bulldozer to launch my ip24 boat called Oscar on Trows down the beach and depending on the state of the tide it can be a long haul down and up the beach. we use a beach a anchor to control the boat from sliding down the beach into the dozer and beach crew It keeps you fit some of my crew would say otherwise LOL. Everyone mucks in getting the boats up and down and the beach crew at the club are great Cheers lads
Oscar is a 24ft Island plastics Built boat made from GRP on the isle of wight These boats are no longer built but are still used commercially very seaworthy boats
was built in 1980 and is 4.5 tons
Top speed of 8 knots with a displacement Hull
Engine is a Nanni 4.200 he 43hp
Since the Harbour wall has been repaired the beach is now very steep so we have to use a beach anchor to hold the boat back when going down the steep incline
The beach staff @ E.H.S.A.A club are great, and we would not be able to launch without the help of these guys and lady plus the dozer
