I am so happy that I found your channel. I was jumping back and forth between a couple other you-tubers but one is a dermatologist who seems to have something bad to say about almost every product out there and very few good things to say about anything and the other is a skin care enthusiast who is great but always suggests really expensive and high end skincare. You are so informative and I really enjoy your videos!

Hey Penny. Me again. Had to let you know this. I am still peeling from the TCA peel I did a week ago. The Hada Labo Perfect Gel I ordered came in so I thought I would see what it did with my molting skin. I put it on damp clean skin, then used Squalane from The Ordinary on top of it. When I got up the next morning, my skin was sooooo soft and moisturized! This stuff is magic and I can’t thank you enough for recommending it!

Great video! Do you prefer the JJ Labs over the Dearskin Tranexamic serum? Would you use either of these serums before Osmosis vitamin A & Catalyst AC-11 or after? How would you work the Hado Labo gel in when using the Iunik beta glucan power moisture serum? Wow no makeup, your skin is amazing! Love the idea of being able to do a peel at home. Looking forward to that video. Thx.

    • @PENNSMITHSKINCARE
      @PENNSMITHSKINCARE  4 года назад +5

It’s a toss up with the Dearskin and the JJ Labs. I love them both. I do like that the JJ Labs is made to order and does have more of a cocktail of good pigment fighting ingredients.
I would use the pigment inhibitor first then the osmosis as you normally do. Also, I would use the Iunik as you have been but add the Hada Labo after if you need more hydration. The Iunik would work in place of the Hada Labo in this routine also if it enough hydration for you. That is a big favorite of mine as well!!
Thank you for your kind words Debbie 💜

I would love this too!! You have said I believe not to use vitaminC and Copper in the same routine.....use one in morning and the other at night!! Also if we use a serum that has a combination of peptides with vitamin C can we use a copper peptide with it??? So many serums, peptides, lotions and potions and so little time!!! 🤣🤣🤣. I would also love to know more about TCA peels! I’ve never had or done one......after what you said we get a new face.......I would love to have a new face!!! Tee Hee🤪🤪. Hugs❤️

I adore La Roche Posay's Pigmentclar and JJ Labs's Brightener serum, fantastic products and effective! Thank you for mentioning that you 'don't need to peel your face off'. I think many folks believe the misconception that 'more is better', but when it comes to peels, gentle, slow, and steady wins the race. Great list!

I can't get eyeshadow ON my crepey eyelids! They look crepey, and just have to pat pat pat in the color never know where its going to be placed! Best thing I've found are the Julep (at Target) shadow sticks. But only a few do they have! They help me get at least a couple of somewhat decent strokes for mobile lid and HA HA "creases that are so deeply hidden from over hanging lids!!! And as much as I love playing with my palettes, one color eye looks come out almost as good as the shadow sticks. And they are so beautiful, too.

Excellent! I see how each product is targeted for a different purpose with ingredients that together provide an entire anti-aging regimen. Retinol and acids can be drying to already drying aged skin. So hydrators and occlusives are necessary to prevent water loss and support barrier function that's compromised by the retinoids. It's actually all scientific, but can seem so complicated requiring different but specific types of products. You broke it down so well. Love the information in the lists in the description box! Thank you Penny

Many thanks for this video and the links for different countries (I'm from Scotland). I find glycolic toners a bit harsh on my sensitive/eczema prone/using tretinoin face, so I use a lactic acid toner - DHC Soothing lotion. It's not super budget but it is gentle enough to use every 2nd day in the morning on very sensitive skin. I have used glycolic toners but found that they sting, even if only left on for a couple of minutes. I have used many of your previously mentioned budget finds ie Iunik beta glucan serum and sukoyaka suhada lotion (both fab on very sensitive skin). I would like to suggest the moisturisers from Pyunkang Yul for those on a budget - fragrance free, gentle and affordable (the essence is also fab). Benton (fundamental essence)and Klairs (midnight youth activating serum) both have a fairly budget friendly EGF serum which might be of interest. I'm currently using a fair bit of K beauty and enjoying exploring that market. Much of it is budget friendly with good ingredients at an affordable price. I use prescription tretinoin but have found many of the other anti aging ingredients I want (no added fragrance) within the K beauty realm. Best wishes.

Hi Penny! I'm kinda new to your channel and have been viewing every chance I get. My daughter in law would like a anti aging regime for her very sensitive skin. So that is what I plan on getting her for Christmas. She is 44 and the only thing she puts on her face is the Clinique yellow moisture lotion and in the summer the jergens sunless face lotion. She says everything else stings. Oh, and she doesn't like anything oily. My skin is much tougher than hers & I'm at a loss of what to get her that can help with wrinkles and that is also budget friendly for her sensitive skin. Any recommendations would be greatly helpful & appreciated!

YES, Why didn't I find you twenty years ago! Now in early 60's. Thanks to AnneP, I am now an avid Subscriber to both of you! She Kills me!!! I now go around the house talking like her and calling myself "Mama"!!!! If you knew me you would understand just HOW bizarre this is for me! I watch her just to listen to that Dry, Quick humor of hers! She just Cracks me up. Seriously, either I'm talking out loud or inside my head saying things she has said, or Would say! YOU are a gift from God. I DO have my Estheticians in my Dermatology group to answer these questions for me, but honestly I don't believe they would know 1/1000 of what you know! Keep it up and you are Healing my Soul in this troubled time. I'm naturally watching whicheer videos come up first, so they are all out of order, but love that you don't waste air time just with gibberish. But you are too fast for me now, so I have my Amazon up and stop and replay you over and over and then order by your links below. Some things are OUT since you do such a great job selling the items! And I never trust Amazon's list of # 1 preferred products! They are ridiculous. I TRUST what you are telling us. And I'm only buying the products You suggest. Then I read many comments, and if I feel it's not that important for me like pigmentation, I have no issues there, I dont order. I'm being very smart about it. And boy did you come at the right time today, as I have been worrying myself silly over serums and acids. Early on upon finding Anne, she taught me about toners, serums, etc. but all with the Acids we need. I got this down, but haven't made that first purchase yet. But this video was perfect for me. Since I"m just starting out with acids, better to go with less expensive products, I figure. Especially the ones you say are Dupes. But I would love to get my hands on Charlotte Tilbury's pads that come with lots of the main acids all in one, but Anne sold those OUT!!! So I may wait on that but purchase these least expensive ones to try to get my glow back in my face. I still don't understand how over the counter Vit A products can do the same thing as my Tretinoin, which used to do no ill effects on me, but now peel my face with almost true burns. I am still waiting for a month long burn to go away. Don't know if it ever will! I need to cal my Derm group about this when they reopen if it's still there. It was BAD news. Thanks again, and you must be so crazy busy, especially with an outside job. Don't know how you gals do this! Please stay safe. Don't go OUT!!!

Nice video on skin care. It makes me wish I was born in these times. I am 64 & never realized how much I needed to know growing up..lol I am seeing a esthetician and we are microneedling right now. She also put me on the Circadia by Dr. Pugliese products. Do you know about these? Also, what do you think of fiberblasting. I might just have it done to lift the sides of face up & out. This will help reduce so many lines I have there. I was always told I looked younger looking growing up, but now I am all wrinkled due to sun-damage, age, and other things. I never really did much of a face routine growing up either. Should I add any of these products you mention to my products to help hydration, wrinkles and so fourth. Thank You.

For those of you concerned with using only cruelty free products La Roche-Posay is not cruelty free. They sell their products in China and all skin care products must be animal tested in order to sell them there. If someone else has information to the contrary please let us know. That is what I found as of late last year. I also asked JJ Labs what the pH of their skin brightening and anti agin serum was and they replied that it’s 4.0-4.5. Doesn’t that mean that the L ascorbic acid is of no value to the skin? Great video with lots of skin care information. Thanks!

    Hi Penny
    I’m really loving your channel
Thank you so much for all this great information!
I’ve purchased the following products you’ve suggested and now am wondering how to use them.
Could you tell me which for a.m, p.m and what order?
I’m 54 with dry skin. Concerns are pigment, fine lines, sagging, & pores
    -Tranex Dear serum
    -Pro Skin Care, Copper peptide
    -I’unic, Beta Glucen serum
    -Cos De Baha, Galactomyces serum
    -The Ordinary, Lactic acid 5%
-The Ordinary, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10%
    and on back order
-Cos De Baha, Snail serum 83%
    -Cos De Baha, Hyaluronic Acid
    -Cos De Baha, Niacinamide 10%
    -Cos De Baha, Niacinamide Toner
Also purchased the MISSHA Time Revolution to mix into my foundation face makeup.
I use .05 retin a every 3 days and am still “adjusting”. Ugh, hate the dry patches but love The Ordinary AHA 30% Peeling solution and am awaiting the arrival of the Claritins wash you recommended.
This is a lot, I know!
Please... what gets used in the morning?...at night? And what order
    🌈Mahalo!!!

I'm using retinol, vitamin C, collagen, snail, ( I know uggg), hyaluronic acid serum, and avontani eye serum. I used to bleach my skin with tretinoin gel 0.1%, and melalite forte 30g not for acne I thought I was looking better with less wrinkles =wrong!! I wasn't using my serums so all dry and peeling!! I obviously don't have smarts like you, but I have to get your cream in time. I'm going to be ordering microneedling and rolling thank you for your beautiful soul and outside beauty ❤❤

Hey Penny. I have recently found your videos and I love them. You are fantastic! When you talk about good products that you like (I love how passionate you are) are you talking about the good anti aging products alone or are you talking about less or no nasties & bulking ingredients too? I’m starting to care more about nasties but it’s hard to work out which ingredients they are.
2nd query: I have been trying to find a body product that not only soothes (Sticks down) dry dehydrated skin but Actually helps towards fixing the skin on the body. Fingers crossed you see my message, would be fab to get your expert opinion. Many thanks, Emma from the UK 😊

I only do a om routine . I turn 44 in a few days and look in my late 20s early 30s from what ppl tell me. I also only wash wvey other day. I found that if I did every day 2x a day I broke out more. With that being said. I do, do masks ones amonth. Scubs ones a week and use higher end wash and lotion. Tje last few weeks I have found you and been binge watching you. I ought a dr pen to do my version bb glow and to microdermabrasion which I have upgraded from the roller. You suggest so many amazing looking products w links. Thank you. I have been putting a lost together of items I want to try. I also need to mention. I look younger then my 33 year sister. She has wayyyyy more wrinkles then I do. Maybe I'm doing something right lol. With all that being said. What would you recomend for a nightly one routine? Ps I do sunscreen during warmer months. I'm up and out the door is 15 mins In the am. Aslo help w hooded eyes?. Thank you so much. Sorry for such a long post.
