I dont get why Jay feels the need to talk up the E-Gear transmission. Its horrendous that Lamborghini refuses to at least put a decent dual clutch gear box in their car if not a good old fashioned manual.

Well... to some people these cars are what their dreams are made of, It's what drives them to be successful and great. Jay has been a car guy before he was famous and I think it's awesome he gets to fully enjoys his passion for automobiles. Also, before you spout off some ignorant comments you should look into Jay's philanthropic efforts.
i've always wondered, is a lambo more brutish to drive than a ferrari? raging bull and prancing horse are two very different beasts, do the cars show that? when you shift down and hit it in a gallardo it seems to punch you in the back of the head where as a ferrari seems to build immense acceleration more like a turbo. is this the real life case?

I know i am going to get flack over this but shifting that fast you lose what happens between the shifts. The feel of the clutch slip and the feel of how much rpm you allow to reach the clutch at any given time. I know that sound anal, but that is kind of the point of having a stick.
Considering you're talking about the man that gave up millions of dollars in his salary in order to allow people in his production team for his show to keep their jobs and be able to provide for their families. Do some research before you trash one of the coolest guys on earth.
I mean they could make an attempt to be somewhat classy. The collar is obnoxious and the logo is obnoxious, pick one. No need for both. It is like "hey, in case you were not sure I was a douche by my giant logo on my shirt, I made sure you knew by my popped up collar!"
Yes they are insured but there are special rates depending on how many miles you drive that vehicle. So the lower annual miles he drives on one car the lower the rate. Atleast that is what I think is right.
Jay, I know you're a Lamborghini guy, but I would really like to see you review some Ferrari's as well. I respect your opinion and it would be nice to hear your opinion on some of their cars as well.
By the way, that is an M5, you would think you would know that since you probably spend a lot of time in the back of them "auditioning for parts" with producers. Not much of a car guy, are you?

You still wouldn't be able to insure a car like that. That why I have no want for super cars (unless I was insanely rich) since they are expensive, break a lot, can't drive it anywhere you want (since you don't want to park you over 100,000 dollar car just anywhere), and expensive as shit to insure.
I'm quite sure he will because its a limited production model. And being he's such a Lambo fan, I cant imagine him not buying one with Balboni in the name of the car.
The logo is fine, the Lamborghini club president frequently visits with a similar shirt and looks fine. You are 100% right on that collar, totally unnecessary.

Actually, that's a pretty slow gear shift. That's around 0.3 seconds post shift, the best racing drivers could do it in 0.3 seconds as well including using the clutch!
I always remember an article about a Porsche test driver who could change gear manually in 0.25 seconds which is just about as fast as you could probably do it in theory.
Today the Audi V10 can do it in 0.09 seconds. that's 100th below 0.1 seconds.

These Jay vids are all pretty sweet. And in rfrnce to high end supercars like this Lambo, some cat was driving one and was backing into a parking space in front of me, so his engine was next to mine; a 2.0 l DOHC VTEC Honda Civic SI. You can literally FEEL the power from an engine like this when it gets above idle. I do want to go to a track some time and rent a car like this just to experience it.

No way! It's the stripe which makes the whole Balboni special edition.
The 5.2liter V-10 from the Gallardo is also used in the Audi R8 when you order the V-10 option. Audi rates their version at 550 hp, probably due to different exhaust piping or something like that.

I enjoy that the used Gallardos have come down to reasonable price levels. It is actually realistic to drive one of those daily as well.
i originally loved this car alot because i thought it was only manual i think they shouldnt have made any automatic versions

I was close to realizing that fantasy in 2010 when I could have ordered a Countach replica (utilizing a Lexus engine) but because the Porsche dealer was just down the road from my presbytery, I opted for a used 911.
