The point of the skit was to define what it's like to not forgive. We all can choose to hold grudges, be angry, cast blame, and/or be resentful towards others. It ultimately binds us up with feelings and emotions that makes it hard to move on with life for the better. In this skit, the actor decides to hold on to the baggage, and letting it bind him up - controlling him - instead of forgiving. The sermon that followed the skit pulled it all together. I performed this skit for the first time several years ago in Toronto (2005) and I did it a few times in Hong Kong and back in Toronto again. Very powerful piece of work and always had a strong impact on the audience! The original playwright's name is Vanessa Whitwell who unfortunately passed away many years ago. She called her skit, "Solitary Confinement". I never met her but she was a beautiful woman and immensely talented! I hope this helps.

All these years I thought I was the only one in this world dealing with this, I thought I was crazy or something. Some of us have just gone through a lot, to the point that we lose our selves and not even realizing that we are also doing our selves a great disservice. All my life I carried on so much baggage from my past that it has taken over my life, I don't even like what I see or who I am. I just want to find peace, I pray, and I pray, and I cry, and cry and no change. There's a sorrow deep down that continues to mess with me when I'm trying to get better and do the right things. I don't know who and how to trust anymore, but I'm never going to give up because I was sent here for a greater purpose that is beyond my understanding, because God doesn't make mistakes. This skit is touching my heart more than these people that made, and uploaded it know.
I've really been strugglin with being bound... I am saved but I'm bound and need to be set free ... everything you said is exactly how I feel, say, and think... thank you sooo much for posting...
This is exactly what I'm struggling with right now. Because of my past, because of the people in my past, I've been struggling with doubt and lack of trust in others, including God and myself. But I'm searching for the answer. I have faith, and I know that that will take me places, and lead me to regain the trust I lost. Praise God on high for leading me to this.

Yeah I been having trouble with that.......I have a loving Boyfriend and he's helped me alot with Christ and Knowing him and such, so it just doesn't seem to register sometimes.

Thank you - glad you liked it. I am very sorry, but the script went missing long ago, which is why I there is no credit to the playwright. You will have to transcribe it. Maybe I should do that someday - you aren't the first to ask for a script. Wow, your idea to do this out in the street is very interesting. I can only imagine what looks you might get from a non-captive audience. Wish you the best.
