- A tilapia breeder suffered losses of about RM50,000 when four tonnes of his red tilapia fish died after oxygen levels dropped to zero at his floating fish farm in Sungai Santap, Kedah on Friday.

saudara kedengaran seperti cepat melatah. Saya ingatkan supaya tak jadi tamak bukan jadi bodoh. 700 ekor ikan dalam sangkar kecil dengan air kotor. Kalau bukan tamak, maknanya kurang waras.

Memanglah ''thermal stratification'' adalah fenomena alam. Tapi jangan lupa ini semua kuasa Allah. Mungkin Allah nak tunjuk sesuatu supaya menjadi pengajaran. Sebab thermal stratification biasanya berlaku di tasik dan di kolam. Ini berlaku di sungai. Macam ribut kilat, kejadian biasa. Tapi bermain bola waktu ribut kilat, mencari bahaya.
Sepatutnya kolam itu dipasangkan sistem "Aerator" supaya air kolam boleh di "oxygenated". Boleh belajar dari pakar akuarium.
Walau apa pun sebab musababnya....En.Halim kena banyak bersabar dan redha.

Not that smart, he thinks his cage like the aquarium in the hyper market where they stuffed a lot of fish in one case/aquarium - with filtration and oxygen. With the water like that and density you just need one hot days with 3 to 5 dead/sick fish to kill the whole cage because of the ammonia and nitrate.
Halim you have to start farming on pods not on river. That way you can farm the tilapia on land and properly manage the water quality
He needs to ensure the pond water is circulated by tapping from a nearby stream, with permission of course. Or else he should install pond aerator to oxygenate the water.
