    Really enjoyed this video, of my backyard. Downham Market is my nearest station. You showed routes I’d never seen, by the Ouse for instance. Regarding punctures, I’m always getting punctures in my car, it’s the flint stones that are the culprit.
    Look forward to more videos.

      Hiya, oh nice to know that you were able to see a new route. I did enjoy that route tbh. It’s nice and paved and takes you all the way to King’s Lynn along the river. And I’d never seen the Ouse before so that was great. I learned my lesson re the tyres not being pumped up enough on the Brompton. I think that combined with the flint was a recipe for lots of punctures!

    On your trip to Denmark, carry two inner tubes, plenty of patches, and a foldable tire. 👍

      Yes def. Can you get foldable ones for Bromptons? That’s great. Going to Denmark in April.

    Great adventure in a beautiful part (and flat) of the world. I'd recommend marathon plus tyres for puncture resistance. I'm told they are slightly heavier but given you're already lugging camping stuff anyway...
    Loved your positive attitude as I think I'd have been swearing away. Just getting the brompton on a train with the camping stuff can try my patience 😀

      Nice chilled Brompton cycling around there! lol well the punctures were really annoying but I just kept thinking "I'm going to learn a lesson from this!"

    Great video. Have you seen Susannah Thorntons Brompton videos? She has been bike packing for years. Her hubby lives in Sweden and she has often taken her Brompton from Harwich across. Her kit is spot on and her tips on wild camping would be of great use to you. Best of luck.

      Oh yes I love Susannah’s videos. I can’t remember which one I saw first, but I found it soon after getting my Brompton last October. I was looking for videos for maintenance and how to put the back rack onand things like that. I just got it to cut my commute to work. Then I discovered Susannah’s channel and it changed everything lol

    Hi, love your videos! This was a trial run for you and has taught you a couple of things!! May I further suggest that you change your tyres to Marathon Plus tyres and have ‘Slime’ fitted. It’s easy to add Slime yourself and would have sealed that puncture, albeit with a slight loss of air pressure. I used to have punctures too, until I fitted Marathons and Slime. Looking forward to your next trip, Good Luck !!

      @@maureenarnold-hc4sg thanks for watching and for the tip. I will look into those tyres! I currently have the continental contact urban ones. I have a service later in the month and will ask re the slime. The good thing is I am now more confident with getting the back wheel on and off.

    Continental urban tyres are a consideration too - my tyre of choice after 12 years of Brompton riding 😊

    • @darinjgraham
      @darinjgraham  2 месяца назад

      Actually those are the ones I have! I think I figured it out though - the issue was that they weren't inflated enough! But my dilemma now is the front tyre has a tear from that puncture. I think I'm going to upgrade the wheels to the marathon plus ones soon tbh.

    • @darinjgraham
      @darinjgraham  7 дней назад

      Hello, I got that online from Vincita. It’s the vincita nash bag. They do a bigger one as well for bromptons. This one is just the regular one. I actually sold it on and I now have the Brompton roller bag instead.

    I have a Brompton. You have to keep the tyre pressure to minimum 90 psi- almost impossible to achieve with the hand pump - if you don’t you will get punctures - buy an electric pump - they are small and u can charge them up - also I would change your tyres and inners but the tyre pressure is key

    • @darinjgraham
      @darinjgraham  2 месяца назад +1

      This is something I didn't even think of so thank you for this tip. It makes sense especially with the added weight of the gear. The slash in my tyre from the puncture is over 2mm so I think the tyre needs replacing as well. Anyway, Brommie is going for a full service next week so will hopefully be back in shape soon!

      @@darinjgrahamGreat videos, Norfolk is a really good place to visit by bike.
      Re a pump there are compact ones you stand on and will reach high pressures - they are aimed more at road bikes. Worth a think about as an alternative to an electric pump. Paul

      @@pault1289 Thank you, I am shopping around atm for a better pump and will bare that in mind. Someone gave me the Brompton pump that fits on the bike for Christmas last year but I am still not quite sure what it is actually for? I've never actually used it! I suppose good for emergencies! Norfolk was lovely and so easy to cycle around in and I will be going back soon for sure. It has been so nice exploring parts of the UK I have never seen on my Brompton.

    I'm hesitating between ordering one or cobbling one together from pvc pipe...

      I saw that one but went for the London Craftwork one on Amazon. It took a while to arrive but it has been really handy. It’s lived on the handlebars ever since. It does squeak a lot but I don’t mind it.

  • @davebaker4620

    Puncture wise no need to turn the bike upside down- just keep it upright and fold the rear wheel
    Both front and rear wheels can be removed for repair and much more stable than upside down
    Least that’s the way I do it - rock on 😊
