- Episode two of our trip to London for a spot of Brompton touring. Our final day sees us cycling down to Battersea for a jaunt around Battersea Park before venturing to the repurposed power station. On our way back to the hotel, I suffer a possible near miss at the hands of a cycle jacker and T takes a tumble when a couple of pedestrians fail to notice the cycle lane, before we make our way through London traffic to Euston Train Station.
Great first two videos, super entertaining, hope to see more Brompton adventures! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for commenting. I have a few Brompton vlogs on my other channel, 'Campervan Habitude'. But, I'm trying to dedicate this channel just to my love of these bikes and the adventures we have planned. Hopefully, I will get some more out soon. Thanks again.
You guys love your jeans man. 🥰
😂 I hadn't even noticed that in the vlog before. I can't answer for the others, but I don't wear jeans too often. That said, they are very easy to pack. Cheers for watching.
Great video, It's a pity the potential hijacking tarnished your trip. How are you finding the gear range on the P-Line? Cheers 👍
All part of the experience. Thankfully, I wasn't on my own. You may be able to tell, the three speed P Line doesn't hang around. But, city riding is totally different to the long slog in a more rural setting. I think the range is ideal for me though.
What an eventful ride 😖 Glad everyone was alright and another great video!
Cheers Miles. We all left happy!
I’m hoping to bring my Brompton to London in 2025, riding around a bit before heading over to the Netherlands. How often is that bike jacking threat a thing in London?
Hi, you'll love it. The Brompton is designed for the city and you won't be disappointed. To be honest, I've never had any similar bike jacking experience in any city and certainly don't feel nervous riding around London. That said, you do need to be careful of your surroundings wherever you ride. I'd be surprised if the 'bike jacker' tried to take anything from me in that area. I guess he was following me to see what opportunity became available. Best of luck and enjoy.
❤
HINT………Carry a can of ‘Deep Heat’ spray, for any aches and pains, be very careful NOT TO GET IT IN YOUR EYES
Not a bad idea at all. Cheers.
@@BromptonHabitude-fe1in you get where I’m coming from, don’t you?
Absolutely. I'm guessing it's not for my use! 😆
Brakes - NOT Breaks. Totally different!
Oh yeah. Dooh! 😆
Did not see much of an accident!
No. It was just a tumble.
it's called "Click bait"!
Are you members of the Facebook group London Brompton Club?
Hi, yes, I am. Although I don't really post on FB too much. 👍
Could do without that monotonous background noise - it isn’t needed.
Really nice footage of London. Enjoyed seeing those Bromptons whizzing around like that. Good bikes for people using various kinds of mass transportation systems with a bicycle in tow. Am sure there’ are many other reasons to own a folding bike.
Yes, the carriage within transport, as mentioned, is a clear advantage. However, the design of the bike itself is a huge selling factor too. Due to the long seat post, they can be ridden by adults and children alike, the small wheels allow the bike to travel without effort between vehicles far more effectively that cycles with larger wheels, the design has hardly changed in the last four decades which encourages owners to stick with their bikes instead of upgrading to far newer models. It's also ideal to be able to carry your bike into shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants to allow you peace of mind that your bike won't be stolen. In short, great bikes to own. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Where did you put your bikes while in the power station
Hi, when we entered we were told we could only bring the bikes in if we folded them. So, we folded them and ensured someone was with them at all times. As soon as you enter, you'll find yourself inn a large open area at the top of a flight of stairs and that's were we kept them. The ladies went off together and me and Tone stayed with the bikes most of the time.
Thought he was having your brompton for a minute then 😢
I think he thought he was having my Brompton too. Gotta be careful out there. Thanks for watching. Safe cycling.
It's odd seeing that Covid memorial at the end, considering the hospitals were empty.
