They also make an aftermarket dipstick that is really nice it has a magnet on the end that collects all that stuff that wear particles that come off during the break in period.
Doing a little DIY project. I would agree with having a bolt head on the drain plug. It's like they're setting you up for failure with an allen head. I like the key ignition. No button.
Thanks for the video. It helped me a lot as I was going to change oil with Polaris oil kit. But realized the kit was for the Ranger and it has a bigger filter. I can still use the oil but will need to get a wix. That’s for supplying the information and number 👍👏
You are correct amzoil is the greatest oil there is although I wouldn't recommend that you put it in your machine until after you've had at least 500 hours on it This allows your machine to break in properly amsoil is so good that it will technically not let your machine break in like it's supposed to This allows your machine to break in properly amsoil is so good that it will technically not let your machine break in like it's supposed to This was told to me by the dealer I have 4 of these machines and I use amsoil in everything I have Just a suggestion you're obviously going to do what you're going to do I would highly recommend you continue to use polaris oil at least for your 1st 500 hours
Yes that's the sucky part cause that is really great oil the best out there forsure almost too good to be true. That's why they don't recommend that you use it until after your motor has been brok in.
The reason they use an allen head drain plug is so a regular 14 mm bolt head does not get sheared off if you should happen to seriously high center the machine on a rock.
Has anyone had problems with the rear brake on this model. Mine is pretty much nonexistent. Apply all I can and barely slows the bike. Any suggestions ? It’s been this way since new but the dealer is so far away I never took it back
It’s always nice to be able to get good tid bits from someone that does the job. Thanks.
👍
That was funny when he said it's a little difficult with one hand I have two lol, good job, good video, I copied you and now my oil is changed👍
Glad it helped you! Most days I could use a third hand lol!

I'll have to look into that, how much?

I like the key too!
With new crush washer best to recheck for tightness as just a little nudge won't be enough otherwise 👍
Great work Cody! I need to service mine again before trapping season starts. 😊🇺🇸🔥👍👍
Minus the oil plug fiasco it is ultra easy
Thank you, very informative. When draining oil I loosen or remove dipstick to let it breath, it drains faster. Safe Riding.
Yup that works too

I think the wix is probably better quality anyways 😊
@@After5Outdoors I agree ☝️
Polaris makes different kits, you just need to make sure you get the one for the sportsman.
Great job filming in those tight spots buddy!!
Not to bad with the phone I'll be using it more
Some
Good tips. Nice machine
I really like it so far. Couple minor things but overall it's good
Nice job! Appreciate the details.
Thank you!!

Interesting. Man I hate to drop the oil already. Especially at the price it is

Excellent video thanks for the step by step I’ma try to change mine soon just hit the 25 hr
Glad it helped
Nice work, Cody.
👍
The guys that get paid big bucks to design stuff like that oil drain plug aren't the same guys that have to perform routine maintenance.
I know that's right. I couldn't believe it stripped out, I barely put pressure on it.. and $16 is ridiculous

Great video about to change oil on one. Your right about them crappy drain plug
Right on
Beautiful bike man. Reminds me I need to get my oil changed
So far it's been good!
It claims it's a 6mm allen but mine is actually a T40 torques. Didn't have any issues
Nice
Now that I know how to change the oil, I'll have to buy a machine.
Lol...
Man, nice I'm picking up my 2023 450 ESP Sportsman tomorrow !

I haven't experienced any issues with mine
There’s a recall on the brake problem on that year. A wiring harness rubs against a brake line that can cause a no brake situation.
@mikerichards4352 so far no issues on mine
Man. the oil will drain faster if you remove the dipstick cap !
Find a Welder and weld a Nut on the end of your old drain plug then keep it for a spare.
Yes sir, I've got it in the tool box lol. My dad's an old time saver!!
They want $100 for a new Manuel for my side by side. Wowza
Yikes!!! Ya might be able to print one online.?
