It's seems like every phone manufacturers promoting the phone repairability practices as much as they can as now in the European zone people are slowly starting the repair practice. It's a good sign for users as well as for repairing engineers and more importantly for companies.
Yea, its a good step forward, something apple needs to do as well instead of going backwards and making parts not replaceable by end users etc.

I really appreciated the video. It would have been even better if you had shown use of a heat gun and then showed the reapplying of adhesive and where you would get the adhesive. So it was 80% helpful and much appreciated.

I unfortunately bought a new a42 with a bad IMEI. I am hoping to swap the mother board out with one ebay with a clean IMEI. My model is A426U and the ebay one is A426U1-DS (dual sim). Do you think the motherboards would be compatible?

I may have missed that in the video but does the phone have an actual 5G antenna to fully support 5G?
This specific model has sub-6 GHz 5G antenna but not mmwave 5G (which in the US only verzion uses and internationally very few carriers).
Hi, accidentally used the sim removal tool on the top hole (by camera area/top edge) of A42. anything to worry, any damage could've done? Thank you.
Hi, no you should be fine, the mic is seated above the hole so it wont be damaged.

Thank you for the video. I watched it because I paid to replace my cracked screen, now I barely get 1 bar of service. (Never a problem before). Could something happened during the screen replacement somehow?
You would need to check and make sure all the cables are connected properly, the motherboard is seated in place and the back housing which has all the antenna flex cables is seated in place and screwed down so they make contact with the contacts on the motherboard to give them signal.

I usually just use a hair dryer but I don't include that process since most people just skip through it :)
Applyng heat to the front side of the phone to remove the battery does not make the screen loose quality later or broken easly???? Good job bro
Hi, thank you. The point is to gradually warm the adhesive and not just apply a lot of heat in one portion on the screen. Heat it up little by little so it gets hot enough so the adhesive becomes easier to pry off.
What screwdriver is required?
I bought that cheap antenna for inside the phone I just watched the video and realized I'll need the adhesive. It says for Samsung galaxy phones
I just feel like they could have added wireless charging easily, just up the price $30. And wish they had of put aluminium boarders.

May i ask what would happen if the the loudspeaker mesh got some how detached? or removed? will it allow dust into the phone? will it damage it?
Dust would get into the speaker but not really the phone. Over time its possible the speaker can sound distorted.

Also, does the speaker area contain rubber gaskets?
@@mattjericovillareal402 for water resistant phones, yes it would have a rubber mesh filter that has a gasket to help for water resistance. Keep in mind water resistance is not water proof. Long exposure or deep water can still cause water to get in. But ya without the filter, water would definitely get in.

Why does my a42 5g have one less camera? The flash is located where the 4th camera is on this one.
Most likely because you have a A42 and not a A42 5G since the A42 has only 3 camera and the A42 5G has 4 camera.
I have the 5g model sm-a426u. I guess there are different models. Thank you for the reply.

What about it? its just held in with adhesive you can pry it off once you disassemble the phone.
My screen doesn't respond to touch. My screen did break on the right bottom corner, do you think that made the screen respond?
yea its most likely the break causing the touch digitizer not to work. Would require replacing the screen assembly.
Also this phone of my loses signal drops calls and more or less sucks the guy at the Verizon store said its not the phone but there service its picking up 3g towers and confusing the phone is there a fix the guy (store manager) said its going to be a few months before they have more 5g tower up and operating.
Not sure, I don't think this phone has all the network band compatibility for verizon. It has some of the bands but not all so that could be the reason you are having issues. One of verizon's main is 13 for LTE and this phone doesn't support band 13. Also for 5G most of the bands are not compatible, only one is and probably that one for verizon doesn't have to much of a signal in your area. i have same phone there is a hole inside the screen which is visible in day light. is it defect or normal?
that is for the in display finger print sensor. Its normal.
My husbands screen won’t unlock or respond to touch and even resetting it doesn’t work. The password screen won’t even appear it just turns on and off. Any clue? Help please.
Can be many things. Bad battery, bad software, water damage etc. If battery, you would have to test a new battery and see if it helps, if not then you need to check for water damage, and lastly you can try doing a manual hard reset (which is a factory reset that erases everything on the phone) to see if that helps.
This would have been the perfect phone if it had a 1080p screen

Where can I get the motherboard to buy?
They don't usually sell the boards as a replacement part, so you would need to fine one someone is selling on ebay or elsewhere from a parted out phone if there is one.
Will the phone withstand rain, as it's not been advertised as water resistant?!
I can't say for sure, but it should withstand some minor splashes since it has some measures in place like rubber gaskets etc.

Where is the wifi. My wifi and hotspot are not working after teardown
check and make sure the back housing is seated and screwed down properly, since the antenna flex cables are on the back housing and they need to be seated properly to touch and make contact with the board.
No 5G antena🤔
No mmWave 5G antenna in this model since this specific model is not intended for mmWave carrier but don't be confused with mmWave 5G antenna vs sub 6GHz 5G etc. Most phones don't use mmWave version of 5G so they don't need that antenna.

It is A42 5G & it even displays it on screen at boot up, I noticed that some parts on the inside look different than A425G tear downs on the internet like yours, & also parts read 2021 yet most I see on the internet read 2020, so I think samsung actually changed a few features/insides in a newer version of A42 5G but didn't announce.
Samsung is so stingy with the pull tab for their battery like always.
lol ya, not sure why they don't just include it. Would make it easier for themselves for repairs as well.
This phone is a trash, and expresive like a51 5g that is a geed phone, why ?
Its not a bad phone, and price isn't bad for a 5G phone. Also it has some decent cooling compared to other phones not to mention a larger battery compared to the A51 5G.
Note 9T or Moto G 5G Plus are better value, but this is the price of using Samsung, who tries being the korean Apple.
