Also, my LMT has a tighter turning radius than my SMT10 to the point that it's pretty squirrely so it definitely doesn't need 4WS. However... 4WS is scale and fun so a video on how to potentially incorporate that would be great. Keep it up Kevin!
Nice video, thanks for the tips. You brought me around 95' to the ESP Clod Chassis. Later i read your review about the Juggernaut in 99. Smiled always about your nik name Hinge Boy. Btw i'm from Germany and here is it difficult to get a Losi LMT. But still on it to get a roller .
Awesome video, with lots of great info!! There is one thing I'd like to add, and I hope it helps someone out there.. I'm running the same JConcepts Tribute wheels, along with the JConcepts Aluminum 25mm wheel adapters. When I went to mount up the wheels nothing I had worked, I tried both the MIP and Protek 8mm nut Drivers. I also tried looking for a thin/walled 8mm socket at my local Hardware and Auto Parts store with no luck. After digging around online, I eventually found a part that worked. I went with a Traxxas 8mm Speed Bit 1/4 inch nut Driver/Glow Plug Wrench [Part number 8719-80] . This fit the JConcepts Aluminum adapters using UnFlanged wheel locknuts, I did grind a tiny bit off the outside edge of the bit to make things go a little more smoothly, but it works great!! Another great thing is, the bit's relatively inexpensive, around 12 bucks.
There's no other info. I mess with the setup of my vehicles and learn from them. I rotated the diff and changed the motor rotation because it made no sense that the motor had to be run in reverse. I tried it and found that my truck with the stock power system tracked straight after that.
I’m a heavy basher with the LMT and never had a problem with the drivetrain. Tbh if you managed to break the drivetrain you are driving the truck wrong.
@@traxxasrc10 Who said anything about breaking parts? You have totally misunderstood. Did you even watch and listen to the video? Changing the center diff orientation changes the torque twist.
@@tylerseabook9423 no I clearly did but again if you manage to have problems with drivetrain at all, you are driving it wrong. That’s user error. Sorry for the news flash buddy
Thanks for all the great tips. I know you as a solid axle guy so I can't really give you any advice on future videos outside of that. I also run a brushed SMT10 with the RH designs SWB kit so I'll any advice on that. I would definitely like to see you do a LMT video catered to backyard bashers who are solid axle fans but not really worried about racing or freestyle as it pertains specifically to competition but reasonable scale realism. I'm going to try your lowering shock towers for bashing, but I know printed parts have limited durability so I we'll see how she goes!
That is nice dude, I have the grave digger my favorite but I have added a lot of weight Treal axles housings front and back rear steering, little problem with the rear steer now it’s not staying straight It was before straight now slightly off
That’s not a bad idea but I’ve learned a lot about since then and will be doing a series of videos explaining parts of the truck, how they work and so on.
Get a 550 motor (because that's what the truck is designed around) and stick with a name brand like Spektrum, Tekin, Team Orion and so on. When it comes to KV, you can get one with the highest rating and tone it down if need be. If you get a motor that's too slow, you can't speed it up. I run a 4300Kv motor in my LMT and I'm happy with it's speed and power. The LMT RTR has a 3150Kv motor and I'm also happy with that. The Kv you pick is personal preference in the end. Ask that same question in a Facebook group (for example) and you'll get a million different answers.
BUMPER , SHOCK STRAPS , SERVO and SAVER , TAPE THE PINS ON THE STEERING THINGYS . Thats all folks. (oh and DON'T reverse the polarity of your motor . . . . or remove grease . . . . . .or add weight . . .)
GREAT info here.
I came here to say I 100% agree with your viewpoint on grease on the gears.
One of the best Videos for the Lmt ever! Keep it up.

I been think about getting a lmt. Glad you made this video!
This is what I came here for. I've got a Tekin rx8, Axial 3150 550, and 3s. it's a blast.

Great video, tons of information. Keep them coming! Now i have to go tear my truck apart and try some of these things.
@14:24 “If you don’t believe me, try it.”
I did, and it was awful. 0 deg rear toe is the way to go regardless of surface.
I really like that diff mod to keep truck from tracking crooked under hard acceleration any more detailed info on that by any chance!

Can you do a short video on LMT shock angles? Maybe examples of when you change the mounting angle on the axle housing
I have that already. Suspension settings.
Thanks for the tips with my smt10 the other day at the shop the 15 weight oil worked perfect
Great video Kev
As a mild basher I really recommend flipping the center diff.

Enjoyed watching your video. What is the monster truck behind you on the right corner of the screen? with the black wheels
It's the pre production LMT that I used to get the settings, oils and so on dialed in.

Saw you on rc driver and just subbed … I have the lmt and gonna due the 180 turn on center diff… but how do you change engine rotation???
You can change the rotation of the motor through the speed control or swap any two of the three wires on the motor.
@@kevsbench01 yes of course and thank you 👍👍👍
Great video Kevin. Where do you find those brass weights for the rear axle?
A link is now in the description. Totally forgot to add it.
Can you do a video about the wheel hubs for the Tribute wheels? With all the mods.
I have a bunch of LMT vids planned.
great video very informative
Where can one purchase the rest of the parts for your servo mount? Do you think it would holdup well to freestyle? tia
The part I make for the servo mount is not for sale.
Cool video. Can somebody help me. What motor do you recommend for the LMT? they tell me 2400kv 2850kv others tell me 3150kv and 3200kv . Thanks

Any time frame for when upper shock mounts should be available?
I just tweaked the dimensions a bit and had new ones printed to try out. They should arrive soon and if good I'll make them available again.
@@kevsbench01 ok great! I'll keep checking
@@MatoonPlatoon I received an email today that the parts are done and on the way. So they may be available in about 5 days.
I don't understand the center diff idea.🤔 isn't the motor in normal rotation already?
When are we going to see you in CT. again?
Not sure.

Total “race ready” weight?
The weight without a battery and receiver is 9lbs 2oz
Copperhead 10 has to 2
I have no idea what that means.
