Thanks for sharing all this valuable information. I'm totally new to the LMT and noticed that the lower link supports pull out of the axels real easy. I think that would be a good reason to go with some aluminum ones eventually. I'm trying not to dump too much into mine but until I learn to drive better I'll probably be spending some money. I like this truck so much I might just give up on some of my other cars and concentrate on the LMT. It's channels like yours that really help others to learn about the hobby and save us from destroying things.
I freaking love the LMT. I bought the Grave Digger right when they came out and must have watched Trigger Kings review 20 times. Love them so much I then went ahead and bought the Son Uva Digger. LMT is one of the most fun RC trucks available bar none.
Thanks for watching that video, we had a lot of fun doing that review. Crazy it's been two years! Glad you are loving your LMT(s). Hopefully we get some new versions of it this year!
@@TriggerKingRC I at least wish that Jconcepts would come out with a 79 Ford body that fits the wheelbase of the LMT so I can make an original Bigfoot! That would be the best!
The LMT really rekindled my love for RC. It just brings smiles everywhere I go! Including my own! Front axle broke on the third or forth hard landing in one tire etc. Upgraded to some beautiful treal and went ahead and bought the rear as well. Over a year later the rear just broke. So they aren’t THAT weak. The rear treal is going on tomorrow. My front shock shafts did both come out immediately. Replaces with some aluminum Traxxas ends and some straps. And the stock bog hog - just fantastic. Thanks for all the great content.
Great video, I still have 3 Freestyle RC ZEI chassis trucks under construction that have Losi LMT axles under them and I have a brand new LMT Roller that's still in the box. Haven't had a chance yet to actually run a LMT yet, one of these days maybe.
Average Hobbyist here. Just have a love for monster trucks. I bought the LMT V1 one when it came out. I've only run it on 2s because it is so beautifully scale on that battery. And with average use and the mentality that you don't bash it like you would say a Kraton, the stock configuration holds up really well. The main issue I've had is stripping servos, but I've only used what my local hobby shop had stock the day they broke so I may need to upgrade better. The V1 axle did develope a small stress crack but plastic braces were all that were needed. And the only drive train issue I've had was when the set screw backed out of the drive shaft at the rear pinion. I'd say for a box stock solid axle truck it's perfect for the price.
I got an early roller version and my only complaint was wobbly wheels out of the box. I could not figure it out. There was something wrong with the 17mm hexes because converting to 12mm hexes finally fixed it. Besides that minor frustration, I absolutely love the LMT. It looks awesome and 3200kv on 2S feels heavy and realistic to drive.
Interesting to hear that as I've not heard of a hex issue but if you did the swap I'm sure it was something wonky with them. I agree that on 2S they feel quite realistic. I enjoy driving them on 3S moreso though!
I just got a LMT grave digger second hand. Does anyone else have problems it's seems to be the wheel hex inserts making my tires wobbly? Edit. I'm very new to Monster trucks. I've had a few Traxxas , and one old ecx , this my first losi. And first solid axle twin vertical plate chassis
I have a Lmt and have been wanting a custom body for it. I was wondering where you guys get your customs body’s from? Do you build them yourself or does someone else make it for you.
Its one of the most fun (to drive) RCs I have, but also the one that breaks most often. Between the axles snapping, steering links soft plastics and the motor pinion coming loose after a few hard landings, ive gotta fix her every other run. That sucks a lot of the fun out of it. Upgraded axles are way overpriced IMO. Still, I have fun with her. Just got some links off a King Sling in order to extended the wheelbase a bit. Mines running a Castle 1515 motor with Sidewinder 8S ESC & Reef Raw500 servo. Can run up to 6S, but shes got plenty of power on 3S, I dont trust the driveline to hold up to any more power than that.
The axles are what put me off before they stopped selling the roller. There’s no good reason a 700 dollar truck should require 250+ dollar axles out of the box
Great video. lmt is definitely my favorite. nice to see associated coming with a solid axel mt. Just sad it’s 1/12th. they should came out with a 1/10th to compete with losi lmt’s. the old losi/associated rivalry lol.
The lmt handles great but I've been disappointed with mine. Breaks nearly every time I went out with it. Barely lasted longer than smt10 would. Parts are insanely expensive. It's sitting in the garage broken right now cos I don't want to spend £80 every 2 packs.
Weird you are having those issues. We have literally dozens of them that run I. Our series, racing and freestyling. They hooks up well and we rarely see much of anything break on them unless the driver gets a bit crazy in freestyle.
@@TriggerKingRC yeah, I didn't even drive it that hard most of the time. I would normally take 1 2s and 2 3s packs with me and 6/10 times it would break before then end of the 3rd pack. Not even doing anything crazy like you guys do in freestyle!

Thanks, I think the Treal stuff helped from a weight standpoint moreso than durability as those axles are pretty strong in stock form!
Lmt is my choice when it comes to solid axle monster trucks! Absolutely tuff! Yes I did bust the axles but I upgraded to treal axles!
My wife sourced a Losi LMT roller NIB for Xmas, I'm really looking forward to digging into the LMT world.
Let us know how it goes.

To date with the differentials, have you had any wear on the gears? Mine escapes but can't find which one..
Thanks always nice for an update on a great rc
Thank you! 😊
During freestyle what are you using c diff spool?
What weight D/A fluids?
Please do a in depth video on this.

Yes it seems if you run it reasonably and don't treat it like a crazy bash truck, it'll do just fine. Glad yours has been holding up!

Please do a video on how to get the slamtech hard foams in the rims and tires please got some that I can't get mounted please
This is actually the next tech video we are doing! I'll give you a spoiler though- close cell foams are a big pain to mount.

There are numerous JConcepts bodies that fit it, as well a few others. The green truck body in the thumbnail is a JConcepts 89 Ford body.

when is Associated coming out with a MT?
I keep blowing out the steering servo even with the upgraded steering servo savor
What body are you running in n your lmt?
The JConcepts Ford F250 that's made for the wheelbase
I kinda want one, but I'm scared I'll want to throw all my Clods away once I do
Who makes the GMC body on the shelf?
That's the JConcepts Chevy / GMC K10 body part number 0416. It comes with decals to badge in chevy or GM depending on how you want

That is the key words "one day". I have way too many projects going on. Hopefully one of these days I'll get them all done.
