That flight was impressive...this video is fine...talk about commercial pilots having to sit on the tarmac waiting there turn to fly....this pilot is commendable...he is not going to lose his license or airport privileges by going ahead of the tower or whoever is in charge of flights coming in.
I keep watching these videos on these gyrocopters and I see them traveling anywhere from 750 to 1500 feet usually sometimes they might go up to a 2020 200 feet with that bores the hell out of me show my interest in a gyrocopter has been waned sorry guys The Price is Right the safety is perfect everything looks wonderful but if I have to fly around it to thousand feet then I'm going to go back to an Old Piper Cessna taildragger or something like that
Did this thing ever fly? While it was playing I went ahead and got my degree in aeronautical engineering, but when I came back it was still on the tarmac.
una duda, el aspa tiene un limite maximo de revoluciones? tiene algun freno automatico que impide romper el aspa superior? es una aeronave , increible la mas segura del mundo...
Wonder how much nautical miles it can cover on a tank of fuel ? ,, also how much altitude it's capable of handling ? Seams like a real fun Aircraft , especially with the Turbo Engine
Why did you set the altimeter to read 385ft whilst you were on the ground? As you were just flying a circuit the QFE setting should have indicated zero.
I should add that we set the QFE (that is Q code for Field Elevation) on departure as well in case there is a need to return to the airfield for whatever reason only changing to the QNH (atmospheric pressure adjusted to mean sea level) when clear of the airfield or Standard Pressure Setting (1013 mb Europe, 29.92 inches of mercury USA) above the transition altitude when assigned a flight level.
In a 1 to 10, 10 being best … this is a 2- it gets that high because it did finally fly for a minute or so. Sitting on the runway is not interesting to anyone but the guy who made the video.
Lucas Kroeff thanks for explanation, makes sense! It’s seems to me that once the machine moves forward its is this movement that autorotates the blades, and their prop profile provides the lift.
That was fun? All I saw was the back of his head. Boring! Cool Gyrocopter, lousy cameraman. That was fun but could be better. Thank you for the ride. ✌😎👍 Can you drop me off at the Mall. 6:01 we have lift off. 9:51 we have touchdown. Almost 4 minutes of fun. AutoGyro much more fun.
What's the pilot doing looking for a radio station? pilot to control tower, pilot to control tower. all I could get is 95.5 KLOS. What happened to k-earth 101 when you need them. "HELP"😱
I think it was a good video. To the rest of you meatheads if you don't like it turn it off. No one was making you all watch it. If you people can't give a positive feedback or at least a little constructive criticism then just let it be. Does it make you all feel like real men acting like teenage girls?. Sorry fellas I liked the video. I just can't stand jackwagons that can't stop trying to make you inferior to them.
The Gyrocopter gets an A+ the camera man gets a D-. Nothing happens until 7:30 & once it happens it makes the Gyrocopter look like it is going to fall apart with vibrations.
@@Lenklopper This gyroplane is registered in the USA, and "gyroplane" is the legal name for this type here. Love it and not being exposed to cold and weather is a bonus.
Maybe a commentary at the warm up stage of the flight would be helpful.
WARNING:
Takeoff begins at 7:10
Save yourself some time.
Some editing would make this video more popular
No doubt. Nine minutes of sitting on the ground. Wow, that was so awesome...not!

Was this the first time the engine was started and you had to break it in?
I think the Garmin turn indicator needs some calibration. A couple times it looked like the indicator was near 90 degrees... Just saying...
Holy snoozefest...
Do all gyrocopters shake like that? Are the blades balanced?
All rotorcraft have a periodic shake.

Nice shot of the Garmin 695. Did you have to refuel prior to actually flying?
Not sure when the aircraft was last fueled. We didn't refuel prior to taking off.

Interesting philosophy. I can see that being useful. Is this common practice where you are? I've never heard of this practice in the United States.

@David Milton
Please tell me that you don't actually hold a pilots license.
We don't use QFE in the United States. Only QNH or QNE.
Note to self. Next time I upload a video on RUclips I won't waste over 7 minutes of everyone's lives watching a side on view of my nose.

No point in acting like a prick about it....go look at a cartoon somewhere else.
P.S. Do you make a side-by-side sitting gyroplane?
Cavalon is the side by side gyroplane from AutoGyro
Video start at 6:00
So some gyros have the blades motorized (or possibility to transfer power from the engine)
Lucas Kroeff thanks for explanation, makes sense! It’s seems to me that once the machine moves forward its is this movement that autorotates the blades, and their prop profile provides the lift.
Mostly just waiting
You were going far too slow coming into land, you need 65mph coming at 10 feet not 50. You also rounded out far too early, hence the heavy landing.

This is what a lot of flying is like. If you think this is boring, flying isn't for you.
Cost, cost, cost ?
Holy crap!!!Over half the video sitting in the cockpit looking around. Bad case of the nerves!!!
No thanks.
Great shots of sitting doing nothing.
Impatience is normally not a great virtue when waiting to take off in an aircraft.
That would have made a good 6 minute video.
It is a sailplane field. Extra caution is very important.

Not a "Gyrocopter." It's an autogyro or gyroplane. "Gyrocopter" is a registered trade name for the autogyro designs of Igor Bensen.
That trade name has expired long ago so the use of Gyrocopter is acceptable and correct
