I NEVER comment on RUclipss. This is a first all around as I have never in all my years of being on the receiving end of flight instruction been able to understand as clearly. The analogies and examples are great mental visuals to give a student a clear understanding of how much (or how little) physical muscle is to be applied. When I’m lucky enough to starting working on my gyro rating, I’d love to hunt this instructor down!
Thanks for you very nice comment. I am sure Alvaro would love for you to track him down once you are ready for training. We would love to have you train with us!
Been watching a lot of excellent gyro videos lately nice to see a well balanced and rigged rotor I cannot believe how many videos of $100 000 + machines with shaking sticks,. Good on you.
@@AirgyroAviation I used to fly a direct drive VW bensen style machine with wooden rotors (wooden rotors are still the nicest flying rotors I've experienced but harder to look after). So I had to track balance and stringline blades to get mine sweet like yours. It surprise s me people put up with less especially when they're paying many thousands for a set mine where a couple of hundred to build. I salute you guys for doing it well.
This is a Trendak Tercel Gyroplane. One thing that helps a lot with stick shake is making sure the rotorblades are aligned (and balanced.) We made a video on how to align your rotorblade. You are right though, I have flown in quite a few and none that I have been in have been this minimal. Thanks for watching!
Spanish Fork, you repeat the name of the airfield to make sure you re talking to the right public or you are listening the right people. thanks for your comment!!
Some of the best videos to truly see the capabilities of a gyroplane, and the ease of flying one. Fantastic instruction! Are you located in the Salt Lake City area? That is a gorgeous side by side machine! Keep the videos coming :)
Landings can be a lot easier. The nice thing is you are going pretty slow by the time you actually touch down, so that is nice. Our new machines should have an even shorter take off distance with the 915iS rotax.
fantastic video....Have you flown the taifun....only a couple of vids online and not much else although its been in production. for a while... They look nicer than the tercel...but maybe dont handle as well ??
I know that Alvaro has flown the Taifun some. It is the nicest looking gyroplane I have seen! I am not sure when they will be in full production. Unfortunately that has been moving a little slower than we were hoping.
Hey thanks for the question, and is far from dumb, is the ballast, to keep the gyro side by side level for easier operation, you can fight without it, but with some ballast make it really easy to fly and explain at the same time =P. thanks again !
Its a side by side seating model. The ballast is replaceing the second person in soloflights. The center of gravity has to be maintaint in proper position of the aircraft .
My question is after landed and stopped how long does it take for the rotor blade to wind down and stop? Are is there a brake to stop it ? Waiting 10 or 20 mins for it to stop turning to get out could feel like an hour
If I sat next you following on the stick I'm sure that I could master it because you sound like a good instructor BUT in this video it's impossible to see what you're doing with the stick.
Commander After talking to you the other day you have be so excited And I can't wait to get down there Talk to you Tuesday or Wednesday See you then Charlie
Bad editing. You should not cut away at approach, it makes it impossible to follow the continuity, e.g. at 13:14 and 13:25. This is a very common editing error, even in expensive Hollywood films.
Thanks for your feedback. It seems to me that it isn't necessarily bad editing, but more of a preference thing. I enjoy watching landings from different camera angles. I have seen many from one angle and I think it adds more dimension to it with multiple angles. At the same time I could see why some would prefer to have the continuity that comes from single camera angle approach. But don't agree with your assessment of it being bad editing. Maybe I could be convinced though, do you know of any editing educational resources or film maker explanations on the proper way to edit an approach? I would be interested to learn more.
I think it is because everything moves faster and seems more interesting when you are close to the ground. And there aren't too many reasons you should be that close to the ground other than doing landings and takeoffs? Some of our educational videos focus on different things though. You should check them out if you haven't already.
So is your car, bus, train motorcycle, or just an ordinary person on a sidewalk or crosswalk! Everything has an element of risk. Be careful because according to statistics, 5,051 people died from choking while eating in 2015! You can illuminate that risk, somewhat, by putting "everything you're planning to eat" in a blender and drink it slowly. Point being, you can't stop the risk until you have no reason to live!!!!!
This guy is detail oriented which makes for a great instructor. I like how he explains the ways to keep the controlled energy for the blades .
Clear, articulate instruction is the mark of a great teacher. Well done.
Thank you for the kind comment! Another video about Maneuvers is coming soon!

Excellent video. Was nice to hear somebody providing clear and concise instruction on the proper operation of the gyro.
Thank you
Alvaro does a good job making things simple and easy to understand. Pretty impressive especially considering English is his second language.
Another excellent video, as usual ! At this rate, I’m going to have to move to Utah, to train with you guys. Wonder if I should tell my wife...
Brilliant video, I learned more here in 5 mins than I have watching hundreds of giro videos
Thanks Ron! That is a huge compliment.
Been watching a lot of excellent gyro videos lately nice to see a well balanced and rigged rotor I cannot believe how many videos of $100 000 + machines with shaking sticks,. Good on you.
We have had a lot of comments about that! It really is hard to find in a gyroplane. It sure does make it more enjoyable to fly though.

Thanks for the nice comment. I think the next one will be about maneuvers.
Nice work... you don’t find many videos on gyroplane flying
Thanks Stan, we are trying to change that!
This is the first video of any gyro that didn't have any massive stick shake...impressive👍Can I ask what model gyro it is?

Fascinating craft!
Isn't Spanish Fork a Left traffic pattern on runway 30?
Speed is the key - same for fixed wing! Landings look way easier than on a plane, such short landing and take of roll distances!

Nice rides, muy buenos vídeos¡¡¡
These things are really amazing! How far can you fly with one of these and what is the normal cruising altitude during a flight?
3.5 hours at 90 mph is pretty much how far and the speed we cruise. You will want to be above 1000 agl when cruising.

Hey Alvaro. What kind of gyro are you using in this video?
I love this guy!
Will you be my teacher?
Any time ! come to Rockledge FL!!
Why was this video removed???
This might be a dumb question but; Why do you have 60lbs in the floorboard?

Glad you love it! Thanks for watching.
Altitude is life insurance.
How comes that you have that flag on your hat?
My question is after landed and stopped how long does it take for the rotor blade to wind down and stop? Are is there a brake to stop it ? Waiting 10 or 20 mins for it to stop turning to get out could feel like an hour
RB3 Baize No waiting. There’s a “rotor brake” that operates like a disk brake on a car.
With the rotor brake it takes 5 to 10 seconds to stop after landing.
Juan Rojas Ok thanks so much I have two Kitfox s. But sure want to learn and look at gyro thanks
