I built this in a cave, and at first i was a bit confused on why I couldn't plant seeds, but turns out it's because the seeds require a certain light level. So if you're having this issue just place some torches/glowstone around
hey liam so in the part that your gonna put 2 blocks at the back and put red torch and redtorch at top when i put red torch at top it lights and dispensers activate😢?
So I've noticed a lot of people commenting to just remove the bottom redstone torch if they're having trouble. I got confused myself and couldn't understand why my dispensers would let the water out, but not back in. I rewatched that whole redstone bit a few times. Realized my torches were wrong. If you don't place the bottom one first, the top one will stay active and will only let the water out. The bottom torch needs to be placed before the top one. Once I redid those, worked perfectly :) hope this helps
set all of the repeaters to 4 ticks. get rid of the bottom redstone torch and add another redstone dust up into the top torch and replace the button with a switch, and it should work, but you gotta use the lever 2 times to get water to go out and back into the dispensers. worked perfect for me after the fix.
I tried like the video and it didn't work. I tried twice and still failed. then i see this comment and it worked like magic. thanks ps. you still can use the button just change the red dust trick

for anyone having trouble with dispensers not dispensing water...remove the lower redstone torch and place a redstone on the staircase block...hope it will work!
I think you should clarify in the title, that this farm is *NOT* auto. auto means it can be left on and it will sustain itself and keep running by itself, this requires manual replanting, and then activation.
That would be more efficient with only 1 hopper. Put the hopper into the chest, and put water at the opposite end to wash the crops to the hopper. I did it this way on several old worlds. CUrrently looking to automate with a villager, so I'll keep looking. Great no-villager design though. If you have an item with an enchantment, you can greatly increase your crop yield.
It's been a year, but the tutorial still holds up! Good stuff and props to you for keeping it short yet understandable with all the items listed for that farm.
Here’s a tip if you’re playing the world that’s not peaceful mode you might want to put glass above it so that zombies and creepers don’t explode your build
That awkward moment when it would be easier to just harvest your crops manually than to gather all the materials to build this entire set-up. Especially when you have to plant the seeds manually either way. Still cool that you can make something like this though.
Lol yeah. I’m really far in my Minecraft world, so I already had all the materials. I think this farm is better if your already far off and are just too lazy to farm everything yourself. I like it because planting the seeds isn’t that bad (in my opinion lol)

In the place ''instead of droppers and Redstone'' you can write dispensers because dropper will drop the water bucket out instead of just flowing it out

little tip for those without much resources: you actually only need 2 repeaters. craft a lever and mess around with repeater placements and you will find only 2 are needed
For anyone struggling with connecting the hopper funnel into the chest, you need to place the hopper on the block of the chest itself, not the floor block next to it
This is a helpful tutorial, I’ve used this, because my friends and I are going into different biomes and making a large city, but it seems my friends, are struggling, and with more people joining us it’s like a community, I’ve called our country Detrous, and now we’re providing everyone with wheat in return for resources.
Alternatively, you can build a farm completely obstructed by natural light and instead lit by redstone lamps. When it's ready to harvest, turn off the lights and replant.
if u dont want to do the redstone stuff then u can u just use 3 levers and place them behind the dispensers it take more time when ur harvesting but its way easier
Or just use pistons to hold back some water source blocks, and place the button next to the devices. You really only need 1 hopper since you can just place more water to make the drops flow into the hopper.
That is great , just made it , awesome , thanks , we had to make sure our Redstone repeaters were turned the right way , at first we had them backwards , but after we fixed them , worked perfect , thanks again

too early in the game for villagers but but too late in the game for feeding off random animals. Thanks for that in between auto harvester! I recommend actually using carrots instead of wheat for food so you can make golden carrots with gold nuggets! You can also do baked potatoes!
Golden carrots and baked potatoes is just a waste of resources you don’t need, wheat is better because you can lure 2 cows and use wheat to make them make a kid and once there is enough cows you can kill them because steak or any type of meat that’s cooked is better than those
@@mkeefe4248 hmm that is better earlier on for sure. I just like golden carrots since you get so much gold when mining netherite and baked potatoes for xp.
@Mkeefe you can also use a lead to lure those baby cows into an auto farm for cows.. so then you'd have all the wheat you could need for infinite steaks and villager trades, plus you can then use the seeds for composters
@@mkeefe4248 not entirely true, there is a hidden bar called the saturation bar, saturation is how long you have to go before eating again, golden carrots give more saturation (steak gives 12.8, golden carrots give 14.4), most people prefer golden carrots over steak because of that, steak does give 1 more hunger bar than golden carrots but you don't have to eat for longer if you eat golden carrots
I really don't understand this. 1. On mine the water can't reach far enough with 7 blocks of dirt to fall into the next batch 2. As soon as I place the redstone torch below the piston it just fires and water won't stop pouring out. Button used or not.
I had the same problem, but finally got it working correctly. Do everything he did in the video exactly, but before turning button on, make sure both redstone repeaters levers are cranked all the way. Then it should work like a dream
For anyone who tries this and it doesn't work, try making sure the repeaters are facing the right direction. Also make sure the two redstone torches are in the right place.
Awesome walkthrough man you got yourself another sub! I ended up expanding and making it 5 layers and made it 13 wide instead of 7 and just water logged a slab in the center of each layer so all the soil stayed moist. (Bedrock 1.19 Nintendo Switch)

2. As soon as I place the redstone torch below the piston it just fires and water won't stop pouring out. Button used or not.
same issue
I had the same problem, but finally got it working correctly. Do everything he did in the video exactly, but before turning button on, make sure both redstone repeaters levers are cranked all the way. Then it should work like a dream
@@atl_jason Thanks
LOVE the editing skilles it really makes it easy to understand
this isnt automatic, wheres the villager that plants the crops
This is actually a helpful tutorial, I like this because he was formal.
Do u know what the redstone repeaters do
keep the signal going, so it doesn't stop working
Does anyone have a good way to replant the seeds without breaking the farmland? would really need it thanks
For anyone who tries this and it doesn't work, try making sure the repeaters are facing the right direction. Also make sure the two redstone torches are in the right place.
Whcih direction ?
Awesome walkthrough man you got yourself another sub! I ended up expanding and making it 5 layers and made it 13 wide instead of 7 and just water logged a slab in the center of each layer so all the soil stayed moist. (Bedrock 1.19 Nintendo Switch)
Hey could you help me? I'm strugling with the redstone part, what do I need to do if I expand the farm?

Question, if you also put bonemeal in with the dispensers, would it make the plants grow faster? Or would it just waste it?
