Tai Lung gets an S in my heart, no doubt in my mind for just 2 of the many things he is apart of in Kung Fu Panda: 1) the gut wrenching moment he has with Shifu when he defeats him, and 2) the prison break. Both of those scenes are what embody the best of Kung Fu Panda as a whole, along with Po finding inner peace, and Po taking out Shen’s ships. Personally, I like Tai Lung more than Shen, but I understand why Shen is placed higher because of the insane dynamic he has with Po
I actually enjoyed Drago as a villain. Maybe a bit more than Grimmel (though the idea of Grimmel being a side of what Hiccup could have potentially been as a villain is terrifying). Drago is huge and intimidating, killed Stoic, can still fight hand to hand with only one arm, and controls the dragons in a way that wasn’t done before. There was also this sense of dread when others talked about him. Both Hiccup’s parents urged him not to go up against Drago, so he had already had this legacy built before Hiccup met him.
What does Schafrillas have against the guy? I ask because I refuse to watch his video that has the gall to say that HTTYD 2 is the weakest in the series.
Idc if he's the main character, megamind should be included in this since he's like, the best supervillain character, because he basically sees it as less of "I want to take over the world!" and more like "Ooh, time for our weekly roleplaying session!"
Just seen "puss in boots last wish" and I can say that I am deeply impressed by the villains in this story 👏. Second would have to be kung-fu panda first two villains. So, I think the list was fair and accurate. 👍
Farquaad is without a doubt, my most favorite DreamWorks villain/character ever. He's been my favorite since I first rewatched Shrek in 2009. He just stole the whole movie for me. I just love John Lithgow's voice acting as well as the animation. I just wish they did more for him though outside of the first movie and the 4D ride. The backstory they gave him from Shrek The Musical could potentially be explored a bit more. He was also amazing in the musical as well. If I had to choose between John Lithgow and Chris Seiber..... It's a tie. They're both great as Lord Farquaad. Since I was 12, I practiced doing Farquaad's voice, which actually inspired me to pursue voice acting as a side career. Idk about you guys, but if Schaffrillas can put Tamatoa on S Tier out of favoritism (which I don't blame him if he actually did), I can put Lord Farquaad up there.
I love Madam Dubois, she's essentially a terminator but French and always turns up at really inconvenient times. I'd put her in A. Rumplestiltskin is also pretty good, he's another cunning character thats thinking 3 steps ahead of everyone else.
I'd put the villain from over the hedge in C or B tier she had responsible reactions to animals until her house got destroyed. She was the villain and the victim at the same time.
spirit made me fucking cry, but the villain isnt part of the reason for it i cant believe they managed to make a horse a smug and funny protagonist i love my baby boy spirit
I love the Death character in puss in Boots last wish, but i didn't really like the ending where he said he came to fight the legend, i feel like he should have said like "I'll be back, am never far away, look over you shoulder and I'll be there" or something that would fit more with the scary man that he is
He reassured Puss that they would meet again. However, I am pleased with how his arc ended. He wanted to slaughter someone who took every last life for granted, a cocky fool who never took life or death seriously. When Puss grew out of that mentality, Death gave in. He lost, but he let Puss know they'd eventually see each other again.
I used to own the movie flushed away on DVD back when I was 7. My mom got it and the BEE movie as a gift and I saw the back cover of Flushed Away and the frog had that grin 44:44 on the back cover. Just seeing that grin scared me enough to hide the movie in our vacation home under a couch where hopefully a few days would pass and we would leave it never to be seen again. 3 days before we were going to leave (I know because I wanted to leave the movie so bad and I was counting down) my dad found the movie and passed it back to me on a kitchen island. Little did he know that seeing the cartridge was going to cause me to scream and cry in fear. After a few years I watched the movie on Cartoon Network and got over my fear. I say that it’s a good movie though.
DuBois is a total mood and a badass, I’d argue she’s a better villain than Death since she has a very similar concept but is absolutely hilarious and ridiculous. It’s a shame you both skipped out on Madagascar 3 as it’s arguably the most heartfelt and mature film in the franchise.
L opinion, she's funny but she isn't nearly as cool and her dynamic with the hero isn't nearly as well done or interesting. Definitely doesn't go above or below A.
I had watched Madagascar 3, 3 times over because of how I enjoyed her moments and the "Firework" moments. Only those, and I still remember her iconic absurd action. Intimidating like Cruella De Vill but France and more of the physical side. And she's much more fun to watch than the protagonist, I legit forget whatever Alex has been doing through out the movie
Besides the afro circus song, Madgascar is pretty good, if I remember. But it does have that cringe you lied to me moment, but please watch the movie guys.
I mean he is the best DreamWorks villain. He's the best. I mean a peacock as an villain with knifes as his feathers? Yes please I'm in. Lord Shen is my nr 1 in DreamWorks villains category
Tai Lung is also very complex and he is a grey character as opposed to Shen but I think that's what makes Shen so incredible. Morally grey villains are the norm of modern cinema and Tai Lung is definitely a great example of that but to make a clearly evil person feel so real, so nuanced, so deep is a feat in itself and why so many people love Shen.@@JohnAdams_NotQuincy
Why this tier list video was so funny?! You made me laugh so many times xD Thank you for bringing me a great time after a classic boring monday at work :D
Eris is the literal goddess of discord and chaos that's the only motivation she needs. She's fun to watch and deserves at least high C tier minimum (she's in the movie more then Cortez from what I recall)
Saber, I don't know if you get requests/suggestions for these types of videos, but if you do...I have one for you. Since you both did the Disney and Dreamworks villans tier list, how about one but with main characters/protags? That'd be interesting.
The one guy screaming back at the dragon when it screamed at him and the dragon just reacting with complete confusion just goes to prove even farther that they're just straight up cats.
Entered this video expecting Fairy Godmother ranked very high. Happy to see the result! Also Rishi came in clutch reenacting one of Robert De Niro's iconic lines as Don Lino.
about Drago Bludvist's screaming it is like with bears, and you make yourself big Drago makes himself more intimidating than the dragons, to the dragons dragons roar, he screams it is a little silly, but at least there is a reason behind it
I'll never get the height of Shen's popularity. I understand he has the most to do with Po but that doesn't really make him a good villain on its own. Tai Lung had so much more interesting motivation and sad backstory while being a real mirror to what Po wanted to be and the sad life not of his choosing.
Tai just doesn't have enough scenes to showcase himself imo. Usually he's just being badass when he's on screen until his fight with Shifu which was the best scene from the movie. Also the final fight doesn't really show him in the best light, Shens final fight was cool af while his wasn't taken as seriously. Still a S tier that's just why i think people overlook him
Shen is so great because you see his own fears and past consume him more and more throughout the film. He knows he's gone in the wrong but now it's too far to turn back, too many sacrifices have been made. Tai Lung has maybe a sadder backstory (big maybe) and is a more grey character but in terms of depth and complexity, Shen remains unmatched.
Favorite moment of the entire video was randomly checking chat on the side during Lorn Shen's section and just seing "he's trans" with absolutely 0 context

Death is definitely my favourite “villain” from Dreamworks. Loved both your thoughts on this. ❤
Personally, I like Tai Lung more than Shen, but I understand why Shen is placed higher because of the insane dynamic he has with Po
bless rishi for making him put tai lung in S teir i was screaming
Death was more of an antagonist but yeah as far as antagonists go, he’s pretty damn awesome.

Do a main Dreamworks character tier list one day!
@@matttestani8105 idk cause I don’t wanna watch that video of his either 😂 that’s like the only one of his I haven’t seen
The best thing about shen is that he himself is "the warrior of white and black" that ultimately causes his downfall...
VERMINATOR
Let’s all be real, we all wanted to see where Jack and Death placed
Death aint even top 2 as a villain
I wanted to see dave
Ramses is indeed playing with the *BIG BOYS NOW*
Idc if he's the main character, megamind should be included in this since he's like, the best supervillain character, because he basically sees it as less of "I want to take over the world!" and more like "Ooh, time for our weekly roleplaying session!"
In spain spanish Pitch is “el coco”, and in catalan “l’home del sac”
The guy who voices Drago was always so QUIET in interviews. Ironic given his character’s method of dragon intimidation!
That is an excellent point
Just seen "puss in boots last wish" and I can say that I am deeply impressed by the villains in this story 👏. Second would have to be kung-fu panda first two villains. So, I think the list was fair and accurate. 👍
My man put the termites from ants in B tier and Drago in D tier no way
Farquaad is without a doubt, my most favorite DreamWorks villain/character ever.
She's a karen, her might is unlimited.
spirit made me fucking cry, but the villain isnt part of the reason for it
i cant believe they managed to make a horse a smug and funny protagonist i love my baby boy spirit
The termites gave me nightmares. I'll never forget seeing the beheaded ant and I don't think 6 year old me needed to see that.
Me who watched Happy tree friends when I was little:
Me who cut open a rat’s head with a plastic knifr:
Professor Marmalade is one of my favorite dreamworks villains NOT because the twist is shocking, but because the twist is FUNNY
50:00 It took like 3-5 seconds for the laughter to set it, but I almost died here!
39:59
Professor Poppy Pants feels more like an anti hero rather then a villain
I love the Death character in puss in Boots last wish, but i didn't really like the ending where he said he came to fight the legend, i feel like he should have said like "I'll be back, am never far away, look over you shoulder and I'll be there" or something that would fit more with the scary man that he is
He reassured Puss that they would meet again. However, I am pleased with how his arc ended. He wanted to slaughter someone who took every last life for granted, a cocky fool who never took life or death seriously. When Puss grew out of that mentality, Death gave in. He lost, but he let Puss know they'd eventually see each other again.
The character development of Puss would be undermined if they ended on that note just for the sake of being scary/cool.
Saber should watch Over the Hedge
The Verminator is one of the best characters in literature
Death isn't a villain tho he is just doing his job
He tried to kill puss wtf?
He tried to kill Puss, NOT at the right time tho, so he's cheating and that's evil.
Yup and no one seems to understand that
@@omarrangelchavez8937 He's supposed to do that he's death.
"Doing his job" would be leaving Puss alone. He tried to kill him before his time out of spite
My favorite goes to Jack
Lord Shen is still my favourite villain.
Spoilers for the ranking
Jack deserved s tier
I originally thought this channel was just a fan channel of your streams. Happy to see you trying new things.
Please do us all a favor and put the Villain from "Turbo the Snail" in F tier.
Starting to realize the Villains be carrying the Madgascar series.
For sure, even the spin-off shows had great villains.
Not really. Makunga was a joke of an villain. He's basically Scar, but less a threat. I most of the time forgot that he exists
Besides the afro circus song, Madgascar is pretty good, if I remember. But it does have that cringe you lied to me moment, but please watch the movie guys.
The movie Antz came out in 1998, my year when I was born. Sabrina Griffin 🐜🐜🐜
Giving them a big W for putting Shen in S tier fr
I mean he is the best DreamWorks villain. He's the best. I mean a peacock as an villain with knifes as his feathers? Yes please I'm in. Lord Shen is my nr 1 in DreamWorks villains category
Shen is the most complex character in Dreamworks, it's legit only between him and Ramses
@@subhasishghosh6924 Tai-Lung’s pretty complex too :(
Tai Lung is also very complex and he is a grey character as opposed to Shen but I think that's what makes Shen so incredible.
There is an amazing sound of what sounds like freezing metal when Death starts whistling during the ambush with the bears, and Jack.
Ramses in S tier gives me hope.
Maybe actually watch the movies or research the villains before ranking them... so much of this video is just "I don't know/remember/I didn't watch."
Entered this video expecting Fairy Godmother ranked very high. Happy to see the result! Also Rishi came in clutch reenacting one of Robert De Niro's iconic lines as Don Lino.
bad video idea when you are forgot half of the villains.
To this day, I think making Rock n Roll the villains of Trolls 2 _has_ to be one of the least self-aware things I've seen in a movie.
Honestly you should watch Flushed Away and Over the Hedge. Verminator is a great villain.
about Drago Bludvist's screaming
it is like with bears, and you make yourself big
Drago makes himself more intimidating than the dragons, to the dragons
dragons roar, he screams
it is a little silly, but at least there is a reason behind it
"Barb's voice reminds me of Sunset Shimmer"
Actually she was Autumn Blaze! Close, though.
Verminator is the peak comedy villian
Kung fu panda really has some good villains! Even the weakest one is a solid 7.5/10
The Chameleon exists.
Eris from Sinbad is S tier. High S tier. Excellent villain and fantastic character overall.
Penguins of Madagascar is the best movie of the Madagascar series and it’s and Dave is really good.
Favorite moment of the entire video was randomly checking chat on the side during Lorn Shen's section and just seing "he's trans" with absolutely 0 context
Maybe give some of those movies a watch and come back?
Are we not going to talk about tails of Arcadia.
Omg I love that show❤
Music is the Greatest killer
How can you do a DreamWorks Villains Tier List if you haven’t seen a least most of the movies?
Cant believe the onceler/o'hare weren't in the list
bc thats not dreamworks
And they're kind of shit anyways
For the illumination tier list I would put the oncler in a tier. And the oncler in b tier
51:40 There were lots of noisy kids in my theater, so when that happened after being silent all film...I just... well...
"OOOOOOOOOOOHHHH!!!" And the parents with the noisy kids couldn't be mad at me because I put up with their kids all movie. Also...even if they didn't scream it out loud...THEY WERE THINKING IT.
Though I might have gone to far as one of the noise children started cheering during his monologue...
YOU’VE NEVER SEEN FLUSHED AWAY WHAT!?
Ok, you need to see Over The Hedge and Flushed Away soon as possible.
I love how each tier ended up having their own theme:
-S: Wouldn't kick them out of bed
-A: Insecure losers
-D: Page one result of Florida mugshot web search
Can you do a power tier list
1:26 there’s probably that one person out there who’s grandma was actually killed by music lol
Good on that furry chick for trying to reel in Saber's simping a bit. Can't be an easy job!
Prof. poppypants looks like dr andonuts of earthbound to me
Dang Saber, you really need to watch some DreamWorks films.
holy shit, I just noticed the profile picture. cool!
Wait...DreamWorks made flushed away!?
I feel like B tier is pretty appropriate for Kai. He's not a bad villain, but he's also very far from the iconic status of the first two kung fu panda villains for a reason.
My Opinion
S Tai Lung, Kai, Death, Lord Shen, Lord Farquaad
A Fairy Godmother, Jack Horner, Ken
B Grimmel The Grisly, Drago Bludvist, Nana, Galaxar, Titan
C Prince Charming, Dubois, General Mandible, Red Death, Mrs Tweedy, Makunga, Goldilocks And 3 Bears, Verminator
D Rumplestillskin, Chef, Ramses, Fossa, Prof Poopypants, Mr Tweedy, Pitch Black, Layton T Montgomery, Tzekel Kan
F Jack + Jill, Don Lino, Victor Quartermine, Dr Xara, Guy Gayne, Pied Piper
IDK Barb, Eris Termites, Dave The Octopus, Colenel, Dr Erwin Armstrong, Eugene, Francis E Francis, Le Frog, Gladys Sharp, Cortez, Ms Grunion, Philip, The Punch Monkeys, Spike + Whitey, The Toad
It feels like they streamed this at 4 am.
I WILL NEVER LET YOU'RE PEOPLE GO !
