The mind blowing thing that the AI models generated are NEATLY QUADS!!! 🤯🤯🤯
I would bet that part is probably not the AI... AI probably generates a very detailed triangular mesh, it gets remeshed with something similar to the add-on Quad Remesher, and the detail gets proyected on the retopo...
@@iochimura Owh, make sense.
true, remeshing tools have existed for some time now, the Ai's are just getting better at capturing detail
I always said being a specialist is dangerous, bcz it only takes one breakthrough to remove your importance. gg to all 3d modelers.
i think fewer and fewer artists have been modeling there own stuff anyways from scratch, most rely on libraries and only model when necessary
@@TopChannel1on1 I've been working in the mobile games industry from a while now, and we certainly spend everyday modeling
@@TopChannel1on1 Not at all. Senior character artist here working in AAA. Spends all my day modeling and when we implement tools that allow us to reuse stuff or use already made assets, it's just more time for us to model even more stuff. These tools of 3d model generation are pretty basic models using some sort of texture projection and auto remesher. Nothing close to industry needs or quality standards. One day, sure.
3d modeller for a fashion company. I can say that ai and photogrammetry it still not good enough for us to use. With AI we have the problem of uploading unpublished designs. With Photogrammetry we have the problem of interpreting glossy and transparent objects. Im modelling shoes and bags every day and for the stuff we’re doing, unless they decide they can no longer afford 3d modelers to keep their standards up, we are safe.
But in order to make it usable for games for example it needs to be more than just cranky 3d model, but it surely useful for animations!
Rodins amazing but the uvs seem all screwed up when u unwrap them in blender, is there a way to fix them or do we have to make new materials? just curious, am totally new to all this im just learning blender because of finding out about rodin
Tex tools addon project n bake ur shit
So if i have an alien forest picture and i want to use similar alien plants but different scenery, how can i do that? Basically im trying to get multiple images of an alien planet that has the same theme
Just last year I was saying topology would be a massive hurdle to get clean 3D models... 5:20 Now here we are.
Things caught up QUICK.
Do your credits roll over each month?
Nice. I know Nvidia has some amazing stuff coming, but this is ALREADY looking REALLY good.
yeah, i like how the mesh is actually usable
@@TopChannel1on1 - definitely one of the best I've seen. Probably better than meshy.
Nice!!!! Can the part be exported individual rather than together?
like which part
Hey why not covering the new luma lab ai video generator, I think in the future it could be viable to replace hiring motion designers with
Why you had to jump-scare me with that sora-octo-whale tho?
Is it free?
but it is not for free I presume !
u get 3 free model generations with the starter credits, u can get 6 i think if u redeem a code, some of the youtubers that are showing off rodin have one in their description.
also if u share your referal link when u sign up (free) and people join and pay through using it, you will get more, so technically u could use it for free, if people use your link. i got 10 free credits and i only posted the link in 1 place, so its doable, but it is worth paying for, its far better than all the others

congratulations, you've taken the human element out of YET ANOTHER facet of the creative process. and you gotta PAY to use it.
you know, there's real people that make 3D models, right?
real people that will take that same money you're giving to this ugly thing, and make whatever you ask of them, at the poly count range you specifically specify?
creativity is dying live right in front of us, but at least real modelers are still better than this slop.
how's the UVs, how's the bending for animation, how's that weight painting coming along? because points are already being docked for the obscenely unnecessary poly count.
seriously, if y'all are really considering paying an AI to have your thoughts for you, just consider giving that money to a real actual human being instead.
Corporations want to completely occupy the digital market for themselves, now I went to Google images with a search for "robot ant" and it gave me dozens, if not hundreds, of ugly generation results that look almost indetic, I don't understand supporters of generators who, just for fun, create even more digital garbage turning the internet into a digital garbage dump
This isn't going to remove artists for any project that has adequate budget. The quality of the models aren't good enough. If AI is used, 3d artists will still be needed to fix them.
This will however be helpful for solo game devs, with no modelling experience, to at least create a proof of concept. They could pay 3d artists once their game gets funding, otherwise they would never be able to afford commissions.
At the moment AI is progressing at an extremely fast pace, just a year ago it was generating unusuable blobby meshes with awful textures. In 5 years time at this rate most basic modeling work won't be needed at all. Yes a few people might be needed for cleanup but a lot of modeling artists will be out of a job and AI is only going to get better and faster with time.
One of two things will happen with most companies, either they will opt for keeping the same amount of emplooyees and produce more content faster and cheaper or they will downsize and produce the same amount of content. I would expect after the initial boom the latter is going to be more likely as we will all be swamped with media.
Unfortunately though this is how the world works. No company owes artists a job, they only exist to make money so as soon as something is available that's faster and cheaper you are at risk of being replaced, it's happened throughout history. It's basically the the start of cheap mass produced art.
People can still model and sculpt for their own enjoyment though and there will still be people who appreciate manual artistry so it won't kill art.
If anyones worried about this, then you shouldnt consider yourself an artist 😂
As a 3D Artist… it’s been real 🫡
Imagine dedicating half your life to something to be replaced, sadge!
