If generative AI tech keep advancing, it's good for artists that have stories to tell, bad for art specialists, such as pure modelers, animators, riggers, etc...
this is just how advancements work. people are upset and mad because they are scared - rightfully so. but people are so brainwashed that a job defines your worth to society that they are slow to see that they need to start advocating and speaking for UBi so everyone can have a livable wage. In this day in age no reason why we should have labor for next man just to survive.
the price is way too high for the current quality of models. 99.9% of these can't be used in anything professional and would need significant work. It would probably be faster to just make them from scratch than try to fix them.
I see a lot of scared digital old school artists crying in the comments. AI is only beginning. A year from now, you might look for another job. But that's progress.
In all honesty, it still looks bad and u have not enough control over final product. That is very true. I don't use a lot of AI tools. The ones I do use are generally just part of the process. They help with a specific task while I maintain control of the project.
This certainly looks good enough to use as a first-iteration, and would certainly save time compared to modeling and texturing from scratch. How smart the UV unwraps will make a difference, but based on what it can do with geometry, I expect that the UV maps would be pretty easy to work with.
Photography is "lazy", I mean, you just point a camera and take pictures, right? And don't even get me started on digital art. These lazy people can't even be bothered to MIX THEIR PAINT and have a PROGRAM do it... Putting the sarcasm aside, AI is simply another lense for human creativity. The outcome of mediocrity is a user fault, not the tool itself.

that's a possibility for sure :) I am actually excited about this future even though it means I would lose my "job". And I mean not so much that the tools will do all of the work. I actually don't believe that. I mean more that we may get AI assistants that really provide good info so you don't need to circle around the internet to find out how to do what you need to do.
You don't have to predict the future to already see the negative effects of AI "creations". Portals like Pinterest have been completely flooded by them, destroying the point of using the portal for many people. Artstation managed to defend itself thanks to a boycott by artists who forced AI products to be tagged. If the same thing happens to 3D... currently, several to several dozen new games are released every day. If AI produces mass models at the click of a button, there will be 5 times more of these games, not to mention 3D animations, of which there will also be a ton. No one will be able to manage it, good works will be lost under the pressure of trash.
Art is dead already. Stupid of ai supportive artists, this will bring them more money by finishing the job fast. While the general public can do the same so easy

@@CGDive One of the possible outcomes of AI is the loss of many human skills, including creativity. It will be a gradual process though, if it happens it will take more than one or two years. But it is a very possible scenario. AI may end up becoming a boon for creative processes but in this current climate i expect it to be other way around.
Should services scare me more than I see anything positive in them. Nevertheless, I will continue to practice modeling, sculpting, rigging, etc. and would rather do my own things than ever use, let alone support, such crap. Or, as always, your videos are great & educational :)
Definitely, keep practicing. One of my faults is probably that I don't seem to understand people who feel discouraged by the advances of AI. Practicing your art will not hurt you even if AI ends up replacing some parts of the commercial production process.

Far too expensive at the moment. I'll let time and competition find a balanced and a fair price, it's still awesome tech regardless of pricing! I tested it out and it's pretty cool! Might have to keep my eye on this!

We can use AI to help us create we just have to be careful to use our own creativity and not to rely on it for everything. I don't see it taking away creativity if it is used to speed up technical processes. Cutting edge technology is the future and we should embrace it, even if it makes some people uncomfortable. All technology evolves. If you make digital art, you have to evolve along with the software. If you don't want to change, then don't be in the business of making digital art. At first I was against AI, but it isn't going anywhere so we have to get used to it and use it for our benefit.

Yeah, I think there can be specific type of productions which it is ideal for but certainly not something that is for everyone.
This generated models are still not ready to work. UVs are terrible, so we cannot edit textures. But the progress of AI modeling is impressive!
