I'm not scared of all the AI stuff in fact I'm intrigued by it as a PC enthusiast. For every company that produces products especially electronics, there comes a time where you evolve, stay the same, or fade away and sink.
Microsoft has reached that point. We have been cruising along with the Windows we recognize since Win 95. It's time to step it up and move on to the next level. That's the way it is, and the way it's always been. I understand that, and I'm sure others understand that as well.
But here is where the problem lies. My self and I'm sure untold numbers, are the same. we use and rely on our computers everyday. Whether it be business, personal use or both. We just can't drop everything and run out and buy new PCs. Some can afford to, most like myself can't. It makes it even harder to do that when one's current PC is working just fine and does everything that needs to be done with no problem. The other problem is trying to force people to go into debt, to buy something just because you force them to. What happens if lots of consumers refuse to use or buy your products? You lose money and you are no longer in business.
Now, that won't happen with Microsoft. Windows is the dominant OS around the world. It's in no danger of disappearing and going away.
Now, we all know that eventually everyone has to get a new PC. So if they were smart, they would have new PCs running the AI windows 11 but still support the basic windows 11. That way as people slowly replace their ageing PC they will replace them with the new models and new tech to run the AI driven 11. But don't force people to spend money they can't spend, or don't have just because YOU want people on your new OS. These things take time. Give people time. Because when companies and politicians start forcing people to do or buy things, eventually what happens?

Ambivalent. It's really nice that you can tell an AI algorithm to filter the pictures of a photo album: "Find the pictures with my dog in them".
But overall I'm bothered by the attempts at monetization of AI algos and personal data. And that the corporations will shove their politics through AI.
Call me paranoid. But there is a guy who worked at MS, detest his political preferences and left a big impact there.

AI could be great but most use cases being displayed so far don't really fall into my use demands. Benefits will be split into segments - business, creators,, plain users - each receiving vatiable benefits. The one issue that could arise is how AI sits on hardware and software which will create differences as well as countries not all approving AI as it is today. Have and have nots?

Hello, I’m gonna try to keep this as PG as I possibly can. Hopefully it won’t go PG-13 but anyway this is a mega post. First of all, I do like the idea of the arm windows versus the X 8664 windows. But what I’d wanna know is I do agree with you that we would have to abandon one, but I mean if Microsoft has said and I know I probably said this 1 million times already but if they claim they care about the environment and they claim they care about other users, you would think they would learn their tough lesson about the minimum requirements and windows 11, but the problem is, they don’t know how to do a revolution as they call it. This so-called revolution, going all into AI is interesting and sure I probably get an RPC as well, but I have a lot of machines and a lot of software that does not work with, or at least not that I know of yet I have a few programs that are written for arm like my screen rear can be used with arm. But if they’re going to leave these pieces behind, I think there would be a real uproar. Now will Microsoft listen only if enough people are willing to participate in the uproar. The revolution, as we call it, may end up having a mutiny. What do I mean by a mutiny? Many people will probably probably do some things. Maybe they’ll cancel their windows. Live subscriptions for a month as kind of a protest of Microsoft ignorance. Maybe they’ll cancel some of their other services and move onto something else for a while until they decide OK let’s bring these people back in for a little bit at least for another 10 years. And by then who knows maybe people will have their PCs arm and others so like you said gamble is right. But if we’re going to be gambling, I think this is it if they fail this time, then I could potentially see a lot of people going to like Apple or something. No under the hardware thing if we’re gonna be leaving our partners behind like Intel and other video card companies and what have you, two things one is if they’re gonna leave out partners do you think they would leave out Accessibility partners well anything is possible here if they can do this to Intel and companies like that big companies then I’m almost positive they could do this to the blind and visually impaired other disabled communities. When they had Windows phone, I believe that they rewrote the operating system and left out the accessibility features required for third-party mobile screen reader for phones. So this is a concern as well. This revolution, as you call it, could really do that on the other hand, With AI, it could make the screen reading experience better, possibly. So as excited as I am about it, I’m concerned about it. I like AI I’ve played with ChatGPT before I have accessibility apps that I use that use a ChatGPT style interface after scanning a picture that can give me more information if necessary. And that’s good. Because AI has helped to make screen reading go better by being allowed to interact more With the photo or whatever I scanned. But we’ll see. So you and I and everyone else on this channel are going to be in for a long in some cases rough and some cases exciting ride here so as I would say that, everybody here, fasten your seatbelts. Don’t get me wrong. There is a part of me that says arm-based chips with its power management functions, and everything and the fact that it uses powerfully and it will be real fast and speedy I like that very much. I think that’s great. But I don’t want it to completely take over 64X 86 just yet in about 10 years plus maybe 15 years, I won’t care anymore because by then I’ll probably have my equipment upgraded. But for right now, I would tell Microsoft to hold off a little bit when I say hold off I don’t mean don’t include it. Just develop it but release the features slowly. I will be checking screen reader website as well to see what they include for their AI. There are some picture AI things that are being used right now. They can describe photos and I think also just like with the Apple phone some of the apps I use there do as well. So we’ll see. But I agree with you. This is a big big gamble. And I would say that in a year will know and I’m sure your channel will update us all on these things anyway good luck all of us and happy computing and I hope that we all can somehow, remain calm and try to figure out how to do this thing but for the partners that does anger me that they’re treating their partners like you know what. There that’s the PG part they’re being treated like you know what be Beep beep and so on and so forth.

The copilot plus pc features did not impress me that much. So wopee u can have a conversation with CP you can do that with Google assistant and seri etc. don’t get me wrong I like AI I use it all the time however I hate how companies like Microsoft and Google are shoving down our thoughts what will happen if their services go down for long periods of time and someone needs to write a note or something in their calendar if the servers are down everyone can’t do a thing.

I don't want it. In fact I'm so tired of all the "AI" crapware they keep pushing in Windows 11 right now, that I am currently prepping my data to move to Linux. Stopped using their office software already will also migrate from outlook too. So yeah I'm personally done with Microsoft and this was the final nail in the coffin for me.
