If they don't live here they are not locals. Us locals work our butts of on minimum wage serving the elites. No vacation for us heck we don't even have boats.

I am a true lake brat, born and raised on the Lake of Ozarks. Grew up on lake front property and didnt know how good I had it until I moved away. Moved to the city and now Im back in the sticks! Be safe everyone!

The average boat size is 25-30 feet? I have o condo on the gravois and my pontoon is 30 feet long and gets beat to death by 45-55 footers from Thursday through Monday starting in late May through mid September

We used to be able to take the family down to the lake in the summer. No more. It's become a playground for young drunks, middle-aged drunks and old drunks, bikers and ocean liner piloting idiots with more money than brains. If you go down in the summer now, good luck to you. You'll need it.

Idk…why on earth is there is a limit to the size of a boat on that lake? It’s gotten out of control. Too many large yachts to much wake for a regular 22-24 foot boat to handle. It’s dangerous. I’m angry. I want to enjoy THAT lake. It’s closer to home than the other lakes. I believe the E. coli problems are being taken care of with the sewer systems being installed.

Ive been here since 1990, and just the change since then is unbelievable.

The lake has had big time problems with e-coli "blooms" in the past ( I know people that refer to it as Lake E-Coli) which occurs naturally but is also exacerbated by leaking septic both lakefront and upstream as well as from heavy rains. It now (currently) tests as one of the cleanest reservoirs anywhere with 3.1 ppm . It is howerver one of the most dangerous boating lakes there is.

What the lake needs is more 40 foot 70mph missiles.

You have to be rich to live there. I thought about living there but home prices are nuts. I found a lake in Indiana much nicer and the water is much clearer. Home prices and about half than down there. Why everybody thinks it's so great down there I don't know.

Not mentioned... Debunking any misconceptions about the lake. 🤷‍♂️ The title seems misleading. Decent interview, but not sure what the misconceptions were.
Note: I bailed at the restaurant suggestions. Not sure what was covered beyond that point.

first part of the vid, misconceptions mentioned:
      1) have to replace your swimsuit every time you jump into the lake
      2) just one type of hearty craziness
      3) the lake is a cesspool
      4) all restaurants close

Grandlake in Oklahoma is actually bigger then the ozarks in shoreline miles amd there is alot going on. They are bring back the glock shootout back for 2024. I haven't been to the ozarks but from everything I have seen the ozarks is no different the grand just a little smaller

Shoreline vs surface area are two different things. Lake of the Ozarks is much bigger with 54,000 acres of surface area vs 46,500 for Grand Lake.
