Your cement door stops are beautiful! Could you tell me what you used to prevent from the cement from sticking to the plastic mold you used? Thank you in advance for your response.
Hi, thank you so much for your comment. I used sunflower oil to prevent the cement from sticking to the plastic mould. Try not to use too much though, you really just need a thin coat. Use a small sponge or paint brush to apply the oil.
I've been wanting to do this for 2 years now. Can I u se quick dry cement mix? What type of paint did you use? I wasn't sure if regular acrylic would work. What did you put on the bottom? Someone recommended felt to protect the floor but I don't see that as being durable
Thank you So much for Shearing ples can u tell me what do u mix with Cemet. Tnx
Hi, thank you so much. I use building sand and cement and I use the same ratio of each. (one cup cement, one cup building sand).
What grit sandpaper did you use? Also was that a sealer you put on it at the end?
Hi, the sandpaper grit that I used was 220 and for the sealer I used a cement top sealer.
Stunning Door Stops! Thanks for sharing. Did you seal the cement before painting?
How much water do you add to sand cement mix?
Hi, in regards to how much water is needed, what you should do is first only pour a small amount of water, maybe two cups and then add your cement and sand. Stir and if you need more water then add nut only a little bit at a time, you want the mixture to be more like a cake mixture.
