My grandma is Colombian, so I'm not sure if she makes arroz con leche because she likes to eat things from other cultures or because Colombians also eat arroz con pollo. However, it's always delicious. It brings me back to memories of our saturdays together when we could buy it from a Mexican woman on winter mornings and go about our day drinking it from the coffee cups the woman served it in
I would love to see segments on this channel where you go into depth on the problems each of our Hispanic countries are having. Like Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, etc. Especially because there is so much ignorance in the United States among these topics and bringing awareness to the political danger of our countries would be amazing.
I'm watching this because I'm trying to learn Spanish, but I'm Irish, and we actually have this exact same recipe in Ireland, we just call it "rice pudding". so cool though how completely different countries have the same recipe (unless the Irish stole it haha)
Jajaja. That's pretty cool! In Puerto Rico (or at least in my family) we have that same recipe, but we add raisins, ginger, and "clavos" (a type of spice that looks like nails). :D Though I'm happy they aknowledged us in the video (Boricuas). xD
Plant based version💚🌱 1 cup cooked white rice with one whole cinnamon stick inside Add Original unsweetened almond milk or soy milk or one can coconut milk 1 tsp vanilla extract Sugar to your liking Sprinkle cinnamon over top Serve and enjoy
I'm not Latina but I love watching pero like videos because they help me understand Spanish (I'm learning Spanish). The subtitles help a lot too. So keep it up guys you're doing great!👍
I love this food, this was my dessert for like 20 years of my life, because it's so easy to make. sometimes I add apricot jam instead of cinnamon for the sweet taste. I'm crazy, I know lol
For you guys who miss Jenny here's some info about her leaving from a close personal friend(this was posted on a "we are mitu" video on fb the new company she's working for, you can see the comment yourself if you look up the video and search through the comment section): "I know Jenny personally, and unfortunately, she’s not allowed to defend herself or say what really happened. Jenny was under the impression that she couldn’t do work outside of BF that was in direct competition (like FLAMA, College Humor, Fine Bros., etc.) so she agreed to participate in a very small role (I’m talking a five minute scene here) in a web series that was geared toward Latinos called Gente-Fied. What a lot of people don’t know, is that when Jenny signed onto the project, the web series wasn’t tied to anything. And America Ferrera wasn’t involved at all. She thought it was harmless seeing as she had also participated in another web series prior and BF didn’t say a word to her. So it is believed that she was truly fired simply because of the threat of America Ferrera’s name. What people also don’t know, is that Jenny was BF’s top producer in terms of output, she was one of the few people who launched Latino content there (which is how Pero Like was born) and gave her life and soul to the company. Just a week before getting fired, she was in Miami enduring the loss of both her grandparents. And even despite all that, she made time to shoot videos in Miami and edited while at the hospital because of her passion for Pero Like. These are the things I wish the public knew more about. It was her first offense. Not even a warning. For someone as hard working and driven as she, it was hard to swallow. But I believe, in the end, she’s at a much better company now that loves and respects her and her work. Where she doesn’t need to prove that Latino content is worth creating."
i love jenny's cuban accent... as a colombian from nyc i don't hear the cuban accent very often lol so it's nice hearing something different... you're hilarious! i hope you make this a series!
My grandmas mother's recipe - fill the casserola halfway with water( high or medium heat) - add the cinnamon -as it is boiling add the rice - once the rice seems soft as you would serve it ,add in the condensed milk -add in as much sugar as you would like but DO NOT overdue it -stir until you feel that it's hot and the milk has settled in. enjoy tu arroz con leche, saludos
In my family, we use star anise, cloves and sticks of cinnamon and raisins, and I remember after we finished using the spices, we leave it out in a bowl so the house smells like spices.
Arroz con leech is made a bit differently in central america. It's plain rice, milk, sugar, and few stick of cinnamon served nice and hot. No lemon or condensed milk.
The vanilla's cap as a teaspoon is SO LEGIT. I do that all the time
Sound Croquette I do the same thing with soy sauce.
Yes I thought only I did this haha
Same here. I always use the cap!

This needs to become a series. Cocinando con abuela.

Don´t watch this if you are trying to learn spanish xD, just don´t, this is like a parody lol
i'm mexican my mom makes arroz con leche more as a drink we serve it in mugs
She made atolé then. My mom makes that too. Especially during christmas
+Crispy Surf nah they're different atole is corn based
Same and its good as fuck
+Crispy Surf arroz con leche can be served like a drink if it's made with more milk and less rice
I make a very delicious pie of arroz con leche.
It's funny because in reality Abuela's don't let anyone cook with them.
JHB Luck mirando

I'm not a native spanish speaker, currently self-learning/studying, so I'm proud that I understood like 40% of this 😂
So lovely to hear Spanish! It makes me feel right at home.
In Puerto Rico we called it Arroz con dulce and you cook the rice with the 2 types of milk. We don't put the lemon but we add raisins at the end.
BRUH LITERALLY MY ENTIRE FAMILY! They always insult each other every second they can.
What's awesome is that I'm teaching myself Spanish and I understood what the title is!
“We’re also a little expired.” 😂😂😂
Mmmm... I love "arroz con leche" so much, my abuelita makes it for me every Sunday
I'm not Latina but I love watching pero like videos because they help me understand Spanish (I'm learning Spanish). The subtitles help a lot too. So keep it up guys you're doing great!👍
The little bowls from el dollar tree.

I'm not even Hispanic/Latino/a, yet I still watch these. I was so proud when I translated everything in the title and most words.'
"Mira que lindo mira" cracks me up every time 😂
We make this in Hungary too. We call it rice in milk (tejbe rízs)
OMG! This is awesome. I love that accent. Memories of my family.
I love this food, this was my dessert for like 20 years of my life, because it's so easy to make. sometimes I add apricot jam instead of cinnamon for the sweet taste. I'm crazy, I know lol
