I agree with that most of these “arroz con leche “ videos got the fancy milk or other type of milk that you can add to make it sweeter which doesn’t seem original to me because I don’t remember that and I don’t like the fact that they would add that fancy milk 😞
water Add 2 big cinnamon sticks Salt Let it boil Once it boils add rice and turn down heat to medium Leave uncovered for 15-20 minutes stirring continuously (Meanwhile warm up milk separately) Add milk to rice when rice still hasn’t fully absorbed the water like in 3:27 Add hot milk to rice and stir to combine fully Add can of evaporated milk and a can of sweetened condensed milk Add sugar (optional) Stir continuously and put a lid on Keep heat on medium low to simmer for ~30 minutes After 30 minutes turn off heat Let it sit 30 minutes to absorb milk
Hello Im a Newbie here and Im so happy I found you! LOVE your recipes! so excited to try everyone!! I love Mexican it is my all time favorite food..my Grandmother was from Mexico and taught me a few things before she passed..her food was divine and reminds me of you!! Thank you for sharing your amazing talent!!
Nice job. I always find it fascinating how we can make the same dish differently. We always cooked our rice in our milk, whole plus cream. This is my childhood’s favorite treat. The sweet came from honey and we used a good vanilla and cinnamon sticks. Then we added two egg yolks (tempered) at the very end. We made it every January. Yum. Great job.
You probably won’t see this but I found your video very helpful! my girlfriend is Hispanic and shared this is one of her favorite dishes, wanting to be romantic I learned how to make it (with your help from the video!) and let her mom try it first to make sure it was up to standard 🤣 and it was!! They both loved it and while this happened a month ago. I’ve come back to recap myself since I’m making it again and I read the blurb in the caption and just wanted to share that you really helped me out as me and her are doing great! Thank you so much for sharing your recipes, I hope you’re doing great 💛💛💛💐🌻
omg this made my day! you reminded me why i love cooking so much! it brings people together. there’s nothing like loving and laughing over good food! thank you for sharing this with me! i appreciate it more than you will ever know! 🥹🤗
It is being said that "the rice pudding" comes from China, I was also shocked, because I always felt it was a Hispanic dessert. In Peru 1 minute before we turn off the stove we add a small shot of pisco (it is a schnapps based on grapes. If Mexico has its Tequila, Peru has its Pisco, as our national spiritual beverage). Thanks for sharing your story, hope you are still with that girl, if both are yet in love.
Yes! Rice ridding! My aunt used to make it. She passed away a few years ago. Reminds me of her. She loved making desserts. Making it right now for a sweet treat. ❤it!
Tried this and it was hella good 🤤 Two suggestions: If you dont like things suuper sweet then do less than 1/2 cup of sugar. Or just do the condensed milk and add as you go. And If you like youre arroz con leche on the watery side then youre going to need some more milk cause this one is thick af like pudding.
Good catch. I have also been making rice pudding using different recipes with condensed milk, most of them include in the ingredients adding sugar. You are right, too sweet! And I love sweet things! 😄
4 cups of water with three cinnamon stick a bri g to a boil. Then add (rinsed rice 1 cup and 1/2) to boiling water stir bring heat down to medium. When your rice is cooked, your still gonna have a little water. Add 2 cans evaporated milk, then add i1 can sweet Condensed milk. Let it simmer till a soft thickness. Off heat let stand till pudding like, stir refrigerate couple hours serve with cinnamon 😋
Thank you so much for this recipe! I used it for my culminating exam in my hospitality class and everyone loved it ! It sure stood out from the rest of the savoury dishes and my first try making it turned out delicious‼️👏
Finally! An Arroz con leche recipe with sweetened condensed milk! I work at a Mexican restaurant and one of our cooks makes the BEST for us and he uses sweetened condensed milk as well so im hoping to come close to his!
Thank you for the video. My mom always made Sweet Rice for me. My usually only used cinnamon, vanilla, evaporated milk and sugar, every now and then she would add raisins. I like it cold or warm, and always with extra cinnamon!
Thank you for this video!! It came out so delicious! I’ve been craving arroz con leche but didn’t know how to make it lol. I didn’t know it was this easy lol Thank u so much.
Man don’t clown me but I didn’t have regular milk right so I used evaporated milk and a half cup of hazelnut coffee creamer and man it’s so good 😭 I added some honey to add a little extra sweet too
This is my go to Aroz con leche. Ive tried allot of different videos and the rice never comes out right, (idk how to make rice proper dont judge me). But this always come out perfect and taste amazing. I add clove and do extra condensed milk, no sugar. 11/10

This was super good!! I doubled the batch and made it at work for one of our events and everyone loved it! Thank you for sharing 🫶🏼 btw anyone who’s gonna make it, I definitely recommend adding the sugar!
I don’t add no other added milks. Just milk after it’s done. I don’t even heat up the milk. I know that I can but i just add the milk once rice is done. It’ll cool it down and it’s still thick. I usually only make this when it’s a cold morning for my kids. They like cinnamon and sugar with it. So that’s how I make it. We also called it atole

I don't know about anyone else but in my household growing up my mami would let it stick a little at the end and stir right before serving. Let me tell you those little brown bits gave it such a light smokey flavor. It's the only way my kids will eat to this day😂 And the only milk used is evaporated milk so we up the sugar a bit. Yummy!!
Good looks on telling us to keep checking on it cuz I’m a guy and my mom make that for me all the time so I think I had to learn to make it for the long run thank you☺️🇲🇽
Thank you elvee, I've been using the same ingredients in the same proportions probably since before you were born. But this is the first time I cooked the rice first in water only. What a great difference. I Thank You, and my daughters thank you also.
I put everything before then cook I even fry it a Lil w vanilla butter powdered cinnamon bay leaf cinnamon sticks and salt then I add my water evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk

This was my first time making and your recipe is Soo darn delicious beats that nice store brand kind. You sure nailed this and I gotta admit mine came out extremely 🤤😋 delicious thanks to ur video. Thank you for showing explaining how u make urs. My family's guna love it as I do!
I am from St. Lucia in the Caribbean. We make something called sweet rice that is basically like this.I was just told my friend about this and she mentioned rice pudding.I never thought about rice pudding because I only know it as sweet rice and I never heard anyone call it rice pudding when I was growing up.
I use pilloncillo (Mexican brown sugar cube) looks delicious. Question: is it better to start the cooking rice in water or can i cook it in half water and half milk?
yes i love the flavor of piloncillo! i’m not sure how it would turn out if you did half water half milk- but def think you should try it! it’s always fun to experiment and make things your own way 😊
@@elvee_ Thank you 🥰 i will use just water. If i use two cups of rice how much water do i put in the pot to boil and how much time before i put the warm milk in?

Believe her when she says don’t walk away from it. Came back and was like nooooooooo!!! My rice!!! I quickly added my cold milk to my hot rice to try to save the day. Added evaporated milk and lechera ..!poured some sugar.. n it still came out good
Thank You very much for sharing this wonderful recipe. I made this for my family Christmas 2022, & they absolutely loved it! For my arroz con leche, I used Almond milk and two cans of Sweetened Condensed milk. It turned out scrum-diddly-uhmp-tious, Light, & Sweet. Once again, thank you very much for sharing, have a beautiful day!
What does evaporated milk add to the rice pudding that regular milk does not? I just want to understand the purpose of evaporated milk in rice pudding.
hi! evaporated milk is just milk that has been previously heated to get rid of most of its water content therefore making it a rich and creamy milk. it just adds another layer of flavor to the rice pudding and helps thicken it and make it luscious and decadent. 😊
I’m mad at you! 1: for making me hungry 2: for making such amazing content and food tutorials 3:for making good arroz con leche and not giving me any!!!!!!😢
Hi Elvee! 💛💛💛💛💛 I've made this twice now and my Latin ladies at work devour it! Its soooooo good. And your commentary cracked my son up. "Tell me if you're mad at me in the comments" 🤣🤣🤣

Growing up with a single mom all the ingredients she had was rice, milk, sugar, and cinnamon. No need for fancy milk to make it taste good.
Would you happen to have the recipe? 🙂
No need but it makes it way better
