It was all falling apart but still lori and chad thought they could still hide and get away from all this. No body no crime. Convinced Alex to kill himself and make him the fall guy. Lori wasn’t worried about anything because she was a true believer but I think Chad was worried and was making the decisions on the next move.

I have to agree; I believe ppl are giving you hell about hating men because the majority of this trial has been details of the murder of 2 women and LAUREN needs to keep yelling about them and for them!! I have wondered the same. She has at least two living grandparents who should be in court every day, like the Woodcocks. Where are they? What about Joe Ryan’s family? Doesn’t she have any paternal relatives? That poor girl was left alone to navigate all that crazy brewing around her, and it seems that in death she is still alone. (Incidentally, who claimed her remains when they were finally released by the state?)

I just also think she had to know that wouldn’t last forever. She wanted to be powerful in ways that wouldn’t fade with age, and powerful in her own right (for example, control of her own money). Chad said the right things to appeal to Lori, but he clearly valued her for money and sex (i.e., “hot and loaded”). His intense “love” was gone instantly when sex was no longer possible because Lori was in jail. I don’t view Lori as the victim of a misogynist or of anyone; however, Chad is a misogynist. Both can be true. Both Chad and Lori are guilty.

These are two bright and valuable women that Chad wanted to blur out and erased and he can’t blame on Wanting Lori; they could have ran off to Hawaii divorced or not and leave Tammy and Tylee completely independent and self sufficient they needed nothing from Chad and Lori in order to just keep living BUT 0:03 he needed to humiliate belittle and erase them because the only way to conquer and control them was to eliminate them and separate their spirits from their body by his own hands. He needed to feel it in order to believe it. I am also wandering if the act of destroying the pelvis wasn’t a ritual type of act to remove to core of Tylee’s sin; like because of the accusations of SA so Chad saw the need to ultimate the sexual sin by actually cutting it out. I believe there is a biblical ref to cutting away sin, I remember one about cutting out the eye. It’s just something that hasn’t sat easy with me.

I'm glad you mentioned the sexual component to tylee's brutal death. I've always felt the destruction of her pelvis as particularly telling. I previously focused on Loris rage at feeling threatened by her daughters youth and fertility but the more I learn about Chad and his weirdness, it fits his profile too. Women should be beautiful...poised...calm...loving...submissive. Passionate, opinionated women are still often villianised...by men AND WOMEN. I think men feeling/showing passionate opinions still probably get told to calm down at times but as men..they are "supposed" to be outspoken and strong so it is more likely to get a nod of approval. @eyeswideopen8570 in school / at work. They definitely found time to chop and burn and bury on the property but your right...the killing itself would have added so much more risk. Perhaps the killing and some dimemberment happened in one of the apartment garages, but the clean up job was pretty good because I haven't heard of any blood found in the apts. and very little in the Jeep. Although Colby took care of detailing that vehicle before police got to it....

The dismemberment had to happen in the barn/ garage. The action was too messy and noisy. The cover of a building was necessary. Alex would have needed a tarp to hold the mess.

Lauren this is why I believe he was alone when he ended Tammy's life. If Alex did it he wouldn't have needed Garth to come in and move the evidence. Chad would have called 911 rather than drag his kids in the room to devastate him. That is another level of cruelty, in my opinion.
