    hey! I'm wondering if you can help me solve this mystery. at 12:20 there is a nut with a spiked washer which has a wire connected to it just below the sti strut bar. do you know what that is and what it's connected to? i have that same nut but connected on the opposite side but completely frayed and unconnected to anything else on my car and i can't seem to find record of it anywhere. thanks!

    Great story. Really enjoyed that history. I inherited Mom's Sube that I grew up in. 93 forever. Trying to revive her since she was landlocked for almost a year during the pandemic and the battery died. Replaced that and the fuel filter hoping she will not cut out on me like she has of late. Next survival/stimulas check, if any, will go to repairing my faithful Sube. You give me motivation. Thank you.

    So like 12 years back, I found a 5spd Turbo Sedan in near MINT condition for $500 in the Orchard purple w/ grey interior. I had it slammed on those same WRX wheels with an exhaust! Best car I've ever had n I'd still have it today if it was up to me. I'd give a limb to have it back or an identical one but to this day, I haven't found even 1 for sale since... in any price or condition

    I've got a '96 OB Wagon with the 2.2L 5-speed that I bought for $600 that needed a clutch and rear main seal. Love that car. It has a "hill-holder" clutch feature which hold the brake until the clutch pedal is raised. Did any of the older legacy sedans have that feature?

    • @SubaruONLY
      @SubaruONLY  4 года назад +1

      Hmm. Ok - verify good air flow (ie check filter), then pull those plugs and swap them out. Also verify good fuel flow if possible, but the plugs are the most likely culprit.
      Air fuel and spark is what we need and those plugs are usually the first thing that will need replacement.

    Just picked up a 1993 Legacy FWD with 105k for $850. Inspected and mostly survived the rust of the NE. Just have to change the driver side valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket at oil change time. I'm not used to having cars that mark their territory. The owner had zero records but didn't care because of non interference.
    Enjoying your videos because you aren't doing 20k custom built engines. Doing real work is more interesting because the last boxer motor I worked on was a VW.

    Awesome car! Do you know if a 1999 GT-B 2.0 auto transmission is compatible with a 95 legacy 2.2? As I heard they changed the specs of "the from idle to take off gear position", to the second gear instead of first. I know it's a 4eat but are there different electronics internally or bell housing changes? Also the rear diff in the gt-b was upgraded so final drive may have changed? Thanks for the all the information.

    • @SubaruONLY
      @SubaruONLY  4 года назад +1

      Lol, yep was thinking the same thing. As far as the current value - that I can answer with certainly, since I just sold this car a coupe weeks ago. Sold it for $2200 after having it up for sale for $2400 for about 5-6 weeks.
      I think that was a fair price, considering I replaced all the struts, added WRX wheel with new tires, and replaced some other minor bits and pieces to ensure it ran great. Cheers bud!!!

    Why the air filter swap? I would call that a downgrade. Sure it looks fancy, but oem filter box and filter perform better.
    Btw I have been subbed for a long time. Great video :) I was randomly searching for legacy gen 1 spoiler. I know I got a scoop laying around from dissasembling a 92 RS but I can't remember if I got the spoiler. Need to go check that lol. I got a 2.2GX, it's not mint, it got some rust, othing critical though. It's tight, sounds great with its original exhaust and got some kick in it too. Got some wind noise when driving I should have fixed noisy inside but I have gotten used to it. Got it 10 years ago and it had 275k km, now it has 452k km. I love it.
    The door handle is a cheap fix. Look up part number 62180AA010ML. The plastic triangles can't handle the heat, cold, door slamming etc.

      @@SubaruONLY Oh I see. Oh and such a rambly comment from me (I even forgot to say that my car is a _1993_ 2.2GX lol). Just keep in mind that those filters wear out easier than oem, and the air it sucks in is also hotter since it's sucking from the engine bay. By the way the door handle trim I pointed you towards is for the RS/Turbo interior which is black. I'm sure you can find the right thing if you're interested though.
      That's nice. I'll make sure that my notifications is working :D
