Everyone saying its a bad city, it was made in 2011. For the materials they had back then, it was an amazing city. Kargeth is better, but only because they had more materials when making it. Well done for this cool city.
People underrate not only the effort it takes to make this kinda stuff, but also the talent that goes into it. I mean, even if I took out 200 or 300 hours of my life to do this I still probably couldn't do it because I don't have the knack for the art or the architecture.
I would call this more of a renaissance city, by architecture. It's all very tall, and made of materials that would be hard to come by in medieval society. Medieval cities/towns are generally made more of straw and wood, while this is filled with stone, and brick. No matter what you call it, great job! I'd like to see some more, intentionally renaissance from you! Perhaps a massive cathedral or Da'Vinci's home!

I think some wool use to make big paintings inside the churches and outside as well can make the city more lively. Also if you use one of the texture pack with medieval or renaissance theme this will look much more awesome!
I suspect you haven't a clue what a medieval city actually looked like. If you'd read the description you would see that this is all based on real-life medieval architecture

I am not the greatest architect, and before I played modded I loved redstone. Now I love IC2 and its electrical grids. For a map I would like to renovate I think this one takes the cake. Time for an Industrial Revolution!
That intro cathedral reminds exactly of Soul Eater. Chrona lived in it, and she could never escape because the doors only open from the outside, not the inside.
This would have to be the late Middle Ages, judging by the Gothic architecture of the cathedral, which I love btw, the groin vaulting and flying buttresses makes it even more awesome. /totally not an art history geek
stone bridges and pavement everywhere and glass in every window? must have been a very wealthy medieval city! nice concept though. and the tower at 2:12 reminds me of bruges, my city :)

Awesome work! Since many buildings are the same design I just guess you used mc edit and then made a few changes on the buildings. And I don't blame you, 1 person creating a city would take a year or so if it weren't for some shortcuts.
Try making the river look more natural. You could try not making every bend a right angle but try more abstract angles such as 70, 30 or 45 degrees. Also I live the way the buildings lean but this also makes it look like it's from renaissance period. Try having flatter walls. This would also look a lot better with the Dokucraft texture pack.
