But if I’m on a planet 4 light years away, that just means that my present would be *perceived* by someone at Earth 4 years late due to the speed of light, but the present will still be the present. Like if the Proxima Centauri explodes today and we find out about it 4 years later, that doesn’t mean that for us the star would live for 4 extra years, just that we would be perceiving a lie. This wouldn’t be the case if light was instantaneous.

As much as I like such videos - but this one just dips into concepts, doesn't quite get them, connects dots with fallacies and still publishes them in a video.
Time is an invention of us humans to tell past from present and vice versa.
There is only matter and energy and there interaction. Us watching mass turn to energy and energy to mass gives us a sence of time passing.

"Anything you do on earth is already in his past" isn't really true though. It would happen at the same time but any information transmitted about events would take 4 years to traverse that distance.
Whatever speed you move or dont move Or if earth stops its rotation your body will have its own aging. Time is just an imaginary/reference object. Time is just prepared/created just to count number of earths rotation. Even light year also we referring to earths year. The term 1 year count is different for different planet. If time is not there for human beings then it will be very difficult for them to plan or communicate between each other. We will feel difficultly in explaining any historical happenings etc.
Example: Two people want to have meeting @10.00am. 1st person calls 2nd person and informing about the meeting plan and mutually agreed to meet at that time. So both are having their time set at common time and this is the reference for them to keep the tracking of time and at 10.00am both meeting as per plan. Now imagine if both persons' watch stops at 9.00am and at the same time earth also stops rotating. Because of their watches stopped at 9.00am, Is it going to stop your body aging.? No. It will impact only your meeting plan. Because you both not have a time reference to understand what time is 10'o clock now. So your meeting will not happen or you both will come to the meeting spot at different sequence.

When you having a perfect time with somebody, time goes fast, when you going through something sad, time is slow, the brain is able to ignore the pass of time and is able to get trapped on a slow time continuum, maybe the key to control the illusion is in the control of your brain.
The fact that time seems to go faster the older you get, leads me to think that our human perception distorts it’s true nature. If a fly with a 24hr life span was self aware, would it feel that it had lived the equivalent of a human lifetime in one day?
Even if it did feel like that it wouldn’t change the fact that it’s lifecycle was bound by time no matter how it was measured.
As far as a fly is concerned it probably thinks it lived 70 years?

There are some errors in this video: An astronaut doing something in proxima cen is not doing that 4 years in our past. It just takes the light (or image) of what he's doing 4 years to reach us. The maker of the video is confusing the time it takes light to travel with something called "relativity of simultaneity". This has to do with distance, relative speed and direction. I suggest reading about it and understanding what it is. There are some good videos on youtube by Brian Greene explaining relativity of simultaneity. An event happening "right now" can be in sync with our past, present OR with our future depending if the place where the event is taking place is moving towards or away from us. And this relativity of "now" is not the same as the time it takes light to travel.

It's the reverse...
Time is more constant than anything else. It is even beyond the universe. The illusion was that, instead of "time slows down when you move faster", it is more "everything slows down at the observers POV", clock cannot be the standard of what the real-time is, as it is capable of being interfered by outside forces. Time is always just the present, (on the example) we might just perceive the Centauri from 4 years past, but that was just on our perspective, not by time itself. The illusion was on us.

Actually past future never exists. Time is a singularity and we create a illusion of time change with respect to our memories and future plans. A good example is if sun stop giving light and an earth with no climate change and other changes will have the same past , present and future before and after 1 sec. So the second is just a unit to measure the change. For small mosquitos or insects, our one hour is too long for them due to small size and faster speed.
That means time has to exist because nothing would be exist if time doesnt exist. Nothing would began to exist and nothing would end to exist.

I must say this is somewhat of a BS.
The fact that there is no time and space during the deep sleep state - indicates that both space and time are figments of the mind. When the mind is folded - there is no time and space.
Scientifically, time is a gap between two sequential events - as measured by an independent observer (who is obviously a conscious entity). and space is a gap between two simultaneous observations - again observed by a conscious entity.
For observation, the mind is required.
For the mind to function, consciousness has to be behind. Hence if there is no consciousness present neither time nor space exists. Consciousness is not plural but singular.
Hence when the mind is not there or folded, one can not have the notion of time and space; even though the 'one' we are referring to is a conscious entity.
If there only one event - No time also. One loses the time concept when one's mind is deeply involved in one event - say reading an interesting novel.
Important is the observer is needed to see the flow of time. That is consciousness becomes the platform on which time and space move around.
Light and the light of consciousness are somewhat related. One cannot see the light. One can only see the reflected light. In the same way, one cannot 'see' consciousness - only reflected consciousness. From the reflected light one can cognitively recognize the light - In the same way only via reflected consciousness, one can recognize the original light of consciousness.
Observer observing the sequential events has to be independent of the observation.
In essence, a conscious entity is beyond time, and time and space are interrelated - the essence of Einstein's theory. Hence beyond time also. This is what happens in Deep-sleep state - no thoughts not time too. One may answer that he will know the time after he got up. Yes - he has now two sequential events - event before he went to sleep and event of getting up.
The question that was not posed is who is the observer here? That is the million dollar question.

Just like the saying 'It seems like yesterday' when you think about an even that happened say, 20 years ago. Or something that happened last week seems like a month ago. Maybe that's a clue that time doesn't move in a linear way like we think it does, and all time is just one moment divided up into 'organized pieces'.
