- WELL this was a FUN one to make, welcome to my playthrough of Minecraft on the XBOX 360 Edition. By far this was one of the hardest Minecraft Editions there is, during my playthrough I had no villages & an abundance of never ending ghasts. I hope you enjoy!
To believe he took so many episodes to do this with stamps is just unbelievable, yet so satisfying and nostalgic at the same time.
The true art of a let’s play is making it last without making it feel stretched
Yeah, I really liked the series where they were on islands.
This was back when Minecraft was an actual adventure instead of a cheap free win. So yes, this was absolutely satisfying!
You should see the homebrewed Wii version, that's even more impressive.

The fact that a relatively recent Minecraft version can be played on 2005 hardware is really impressive

Minecraft has followed me for years. First through the X-Box, then for the Playstation 4, and then to Switch. I've always found myself returning to it, emerging myself in my nostalgia and memories, and it's so fun to watch someone else do something similar. Thank you for providing yet another chance to come back to it all!

And contrary to habit. This only took a long video instead of the more traditional 24 episodes where both Stampy and Squid get dogs and move to a Mooshroom Island :D.

Quest to kill the ender dragon was simple, fun and genius ( transitioning from slaying to a quest to do anything and then the wither and guardian )

Lol him being flabbergasted by the border on the world... I grew up playing the xbox 360 version and it absolutely was a thing! I remember how amazed I was when I got my ps4 and could have literally endless worlds. It feels a lot fuller and there's so much more to explore. It's so interesting to see a playthrough of the old version tho :)
I thought the PS4 version didn’t have infinite worlds, but they were instead 36x larger than the ones on PS3/X360

@@mitts4kitts I think they changed it when they added bedrock because I distinctly remember being able to reach the border on the old PS4 edition

@@mitts4kitts PS4 has Legacy version where max world size is 5k*5k and Render distance is 18 chunks (unlike 1.19). The last update is 1.14. Biome scale in Legacy Edition is 4 times smaller than Java, to have full sized biomes you have to set biome size to Large when creating worlds

This was a very enjoyable video! I know it was hard and no doubt took a long time to make and I salute you for persevering when things got incredibly mind-numbing and time-consuming.
You know, a lot of people, myself included, think back on the old Minecraft and think, "this was great! I miss this". But when we really look back at it, we realize that Minecraft has come a long way from then, and most of the changes since then have been for the better.
Honestly I think Minecraft back then was made more for long-term survivals and isn't really very suited to speedruns.
Gotta say I absolutely hate the world border, it's so fricking annoying! Also, it's not just your controller that's awkward (read: horrible), mine is the exact same. Is it the same for later consoles? I've never played Minecraft on them, heck I don't even own any, so I wouldn't know.
I would never in a million years attempt something like this as I don't have near enough patience or willpower to make it through but I thank you for doing it for all of us! Looking forward to your next video!
It's just xbox that has bad controllers, I'd say that even the ps3 controller is better than the xbox 1
My xbox 360 controllers are perfectly fine, i think the ones that came with the exbox originally are better than the one that you can get that they claim are 2nd hand

The squeaking of the trigger at 42:04 when he's in the end brings back memories. All my 360 controllers triggers squeak like that.
The nostalgia is reallll. I don't think I could play like this anymore it would do my head in lol. Also, I do remember there being a world border, you could really tell how small the world was if you went on a superflat.
I miss this game so much. Brings back so many memories of watching stamps and squidy while I play on my 360
i was still playing console edition (xbox360) when the aquatic update was actually put on it then i switched to pc to get the updates
The nostalgia hits hard than a train
The legacy console edition of minecraft had limited world sizes, due to lack of harware and such. this is why you have a woodland mansion at spawn, and the end portal only 1000 blocks away. It also stopped updating at 1.13 with the last update coming to the ps3 in 2018.
That ghast moment was hilarious. Thank you for this it was a hit of nostalgia. Hope to see more content likee this

Ah I remember Xbox 360 edition Minecraft being a single map size big, the jump to Xbox One and it being expanded to 5 x 5 maps felt insanely big!
now all we need is squids slippery survival or the quest series back for ultimate nostalgia

The Xbox 360 edition sadly has been discontinued, Love to see people still playing it.
The Xbox 360 editions last update was 1.13 (the aquatic update), Some people didn't get that update though but luckily I was one of the people who did get that last update before its discontinuing.

Yep, I had this version up to 2020 until we bought a new xbox,lol. But in reality, java players have no idea how good they have it until they play xbox. No boat clutches, no extreme redstone, and hardly any water bucket mlgs! Squid... you are a brave man.
imo this version is the best version of minecraft there is.

I believe the xbox 360 version of the game needed the border bc the xbox 360 couldn't handle the endless world or there might be a thing in the world settings to have it as an endless world and this is awesome squid I loved watching u and stampy playing the xbox 360 version glad ur still doing good

I remember playing xbox360 minecraft at my friends house and playing the minigmaes was the best, except when it would autosave every 15min, which would take about 3min each time. Also squidgy can we have a setup tour, it looks rly cool from what I can see in the cam.

I'm loving this. I still play the Xbox 1 edition mini games and enjoy the base game more than bedrock sometimes.
I do wanna ask about the little show "The Pixilarity" do you remember when you voiced an episode in that.. strange poorly made, not horribly animated, show? The voice acting for all the episodes felt like script reading without much acting. It was strange

As I still play minecraft 360 I can confirm that the world has a boarder the reason why the map is so small is because of how much ram is on the xbox so it can produce as little lag as possible smart choice but limited world size unless you transfer the world to the latest minecraft

when i first started watching squid he was doing minecraft letsplays and now to see him back doing minecraft again but as a hobby is really nice to see
he is so lucky to have found a woodland mansion. i tried doing this recently, and the entire world had half a villager house, half a vilager farm, and 5 diamonds

As someone who only played the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft until last year, I can confirm that beating the game is the most arduous task in the game. The controls are stiff, THERE ARE WORLD BORDERS, and it's permanently stuck in 1.13 with that awful nether, non-updated villagers and the most spaced-out world structures you will ever lay your eyes on. Looking back at it, I question how I played it for over 8 years and never saw the problems with it.
I in fact tried the PS3 demo and it was kinda ok (though I noticed something with the resolution). As for full game, I play it on Xbox One and I like it. Maybe 360 has bigger input delay, but idk... Using the controller itself is very comfortable in this game, I like it. And I also like the mining here being way easier than in 1.18
Idk, maybe it's cuz 360 is 7 gen and one is 8 gen...
maybe it's like when I beat Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 on PS3 and it was hard but cool, but after XOne, where the games are 60 fps and input is faster, that doesn't seem like that...
i feel lucky to have the old ps4 version that at least had 1.14 and larger worlds (still borders but they are so big it's barely noticeable)

You know, I still have the Minecraft Wii U Edition. It was the first version of Minecraft I ever played. I remember the world border, learning the controls, and just having so much fun. I think I'll start up my Wii U and start a new world! Quest to Beat the Ender Dragon, Wii U Edition! Thank you so much for the video!
