The good news is you're not going to get me into watches. The bad news is I found your channel because I was already into watches, and you got me into knives.
Nick the tease-enabler. Hey, check out this wrist-bling. Don't get into watches though. Hey, look at my knife. Don't get into knives. Hey, have you seen this pen?
It's going to be hard to use your knife to obtain some "ink" to use in your new fountain pen to sign over your first born for a new watch.... without a flashlight....
I own a Rolex Sub, a Tudor Black Bay Heritage (in-house movement), Breitling Chronograph, and an Omega SMP 2018 model. The fit and finish on my Monta Triumph is just as good as any of the above, the articulating bracelet is actually more comfortable than any of the above! Monta is the real deal!
From all the entry level luxury watches out there, I've decided to go with this one and have absolutely 0 regrets about it :) Unboxed them on my tiny channel 🙃
G'evening Nick, or perhaps morning, depending on what direction you look at it from of course 😋 . I just wanted to say thanks, I really enjoy the channel and I appreciate all your hard work. You're definitely in my go-to top reviewers list 😎 ...
You can fix the clasp issue by adding a link to the side that overhangs and taking one out from the other side of the bracelet. I usually leave the clasps right under my wrist
Not necessarily. That works if you've got a larger wrist, but with smaller wrists, adding and removing links doesn't make the longer clasp contour properly.
Big fan of the approach you took on this review. When this launched, I said it looked like it was punching up at the Aqua Terra, so it was nice to actually see them side by side. I also ordered this watch on launch day, and I'm excited to get it in. Jealous you got a review unit to handle before the retail ones get shipped out!
Hey Nick, would you consider looking at more actually budget friendly watches, like Hamilitons or the upcoming Vaer dive watches? Love the content of high end watches and I hope you keep it up but the $500-700 mark has some good options now and I think it deserves a bit of love
Awesome review Nick, thanks! I'm looking forward to seeing more watches from Monta. My BB58 has the same issue with the deployment arm forcing the links to push out at an odd angle with my 6.75" wrist. If only the BB58 had the same GlideLock style micro-adjust as the Noble. Which strap is that on your Seamaster 300M?
Stunning watch but that prolonged clasp kills the whole thing with the way it forces that link on the underside way out. Can’t believe they didn’t consider that when designing it. Hopefully they rectify it in the next iteration.
@@katshoulders4576 That is one of my worries of buying the Monta watch. I heard the clasp is too long. Hopefully it does not cause any discomfort wearing it.
@@jlyutiup it doesn’t for me but I have seen the complaint among several people, esp those with smaller wrist. I’m at just under 6.4 inches and I’ve never had issues but I think a lot of it is due to the shape of your wrist as well. I believe Monta now offered two half links on every bracelet which I’ve seen has helped to adjust size to a more comfortable fit.
Nick great review of an excellent watch. Please show the box that Monta Watches come in, for potential customers that will give a Monta as a gift. Rolex needs to raise their prices so they can afford to give give the quality of box that Monta uses.
There is 1 thing I don’t like about this watch. And I’m still buying it. The date wheel is a diff color than the dial. But I think it’s one of those things I’d get use to quick. I could get the white/silver one cause truthfully, I love that one. But I feel I’d be missing out if I don’t go w/ the blue. Yes monta should have used a bjt shorter clasp also. But omega should have given on fly adjustments or any type of capability of adjusting for their $ 5,700 Aqua Terra and $7,000 globe master.
Really like this however polished bezel kills it for me . Can’t live with polished bezel scratches come from nowhere and are so visible .if they do a brushed I will seriously consider it .
Hey Nick, what are your thoughts on bronze or brass watches? From what I've seen so far you tend to gravitate towards things that don't necessarily patina.
To me this looks like it could compete with the lower end ETA based Tudors, it comes in at a slightly lower price but looks easily as well finished. I like it!
I have a Tudor ETA based day date and based on this review I'd say the Monta competes pretty well on finishing and bracelet design. The main thing that the Tudor has going for it is if you like the look of a Rolex day date Tudor is the only alternative that does it justice.
The cheapest Patek is worth more than my entire collection 🤣 Plus, I think I prefer looking at pieces which are a bit more balanced in terms of intrinsic value of the object and workmanship vs. value added by brand name.
I just received my Monta Noble today. I was eager to open it and try it on. Then was a bit disappointed, the watch is pretty small and light and has a cheap feel about it. The band is very flimsy and feels cheap and the case itself is so so but definitely doesn't warrant all the hype. The micro adjustments on the band slip, so when you adjust them and wear the watch then take it off they slip back out and you have to adjust it again before you wear it. and the power reserve is only a few hours, I can wear it all day then take it off before bed and in the morning it has stopped and i have to re set it. Over all its probably on par with your average run of the mill everyday watch you can buy at one of those kiosks in the middle of the mall. It's nothing special and definitely not worth the price point.
@@Tomor983 but, if i'm going to spend $2k on a watch, i'm already committed to saving money for it. why not just keep saving and get the one that won't lose much value (and has lots of size options!)
Very nice watch. I just don’t see the value here others do. For example a Doxa 300T is $1890. You get a ETA movement, beads of rice bracelet with a ratcheting system, 42mm case with 45 lug to lug and a historical icon. Nice watch though.
Your comparison makes zero sense. It’s like you’re saying why buy a BMW M240i when you can get a Land Rover Defender for the same price? You double down on the incongruity when you tout the larger size as somehow equating to greater value. Horses for courses, my friend. Horses for courses.
@@nicks8026 I see you point but in the watch world not much makes sense. Maybe I was comparing a mule to a horse. Either way keep the watch reviews coming.
You made exactly the same points etc other people have. It's an infomercial and not a review in my honest opinion. It is made of stock parts for the budget it's priced at.. 🙄
@@aman803 There's clearly a gap between the lug and the endlinks. Most noticeably on the 5 o'clock lug. That's what I'm talking about. Close fitting endlinks is a sign of quality, that's why I mentioned the price being too high in my view.
Oh Jack, you didn't finish the video before snarking this time, did you? They loaned me a review sample, the one I've purchased at full retail will arrive in November. And rest assured, the tax man is well aware of the channel, and has been taking a dear cut for years now.

Vs knives? Guess I’m not getting the joke here.
Monta is going places. Ten years from now, Monta isn't a "micro brand" no more
Totally agree with you. That was one of the reasons why I bought one for myself now. Because it may cost more in the future 😅

Nick, what are you thought on the 25 Jewel tissot gentleman powermatic 80 in blue
I'm quite surprised they haven't fix the issue with the clasp despite it being an issue for some time now.
It’s not an issue for everyone, I’ve never had any wear discomfort with any of my Montas but wrist sizes and shapes do differ among many people.

I wish Monta would make something smaller. Their watches look great but too big for my taste and wrist size. 36mm would be awesome!

The watch is great but with one flaw: the clasp on the bracelet is too damn wide! On a narrower wrist is will take up half the bracelet’s length.
