FYI - The 7950X can pull this off but the 7950X3D seems to only be stable at 5600Mhz. Can only find 7950X users with the ability to run over 5600 without issues.
You had me lolling when you said overclock forums don't talk about resistance or ohms. Hope you start making video's showing how to properly overclock & tighten DDR5. tRFC & tREFI can be much lower than you have it now.
I can't even get my anything after the first slot to work i don't know if it's a broken dimm slots or what I know it's not ram as my pc boots with all 4 sticks but anything other than the a2 slot doesn't work i have the asus x670e-e
ONE QUESTION I WANT TO ASK ,, I RECENTLY BOUGHT 9950X AND 32 *4 ADATA 5600MHZ RAM, MY PC IS COMPLETELY STABLE IN 2 STICKS AT B2 AND B4(2,4) SLOT. BUT WHEN I TRY TO PUT ANOTHER 1 OR ALL 4 RAM TOGETHER , POSTCODE FREEZE AT DRAM AND AFTER 5 MIN. RESTART THE SYSTEM. SO CAN I USE ALL 4 RAM TOGETHER AND HOW ... HELP NEEDED PLS MOTHERBOARD IS AORUS X670 ELITE AX
I’m trying to get my system stable but it’s driving me insane I have a 14900KS and 4 sticks of ddr5 ram @6400 and it won’t be stable with xmp on. It will BSOF whenever I launch a game. I also cannot find where I adjust the ohms or impedance with my asus z790 hero board in the bios
Hi I just tried my 12900k with 4 sticks of ddr5 @ 6200 and xmp1 and it started boot cycling ( thank god for bios flash back) but I was wondering where you found stable at? I’m a newbie to oc.
Thanks for all of the info and testing, I just subscribed! Has the story changed at all with X870e motherboards and Ryzen 9000? Is it any easier to get to 4x32gb DDR5 6000?
For some of the boards yes but it still requires manually tuning the ProcODT values in the bios. Otherwise, all of them seem to work at 4800-5200MT/s. This only applies to 128gb or higher. If running 4 single rank such as 4x16 or 4x24gb, 6000 works pretty reliably now.
Forgive me for asking, I have never overclocked anything in my life. I have bought new system 7950x3D with 2x (2x 16GB) DDR5 6000MHz memory (4 sticks), believing that it means it will run at 6000 by default. Turns out I need to run some EXPO profile, but that profile does not work with 4 sticks in. The system simply does not POST, and I need to clear CMOS in order to get to BIOS again. If I understand correctly you are suggesting I should change ProcODT. What are recommended options? DOes this value regulate the impedance of the circuitry like adjustable resistor? MY system behaves as High Impedence from your video, should I go lower values? Is there are risk of breaking anything by using this setting alone?
4x 16gb should work without needing to change ProcODT. You need to be on the latest bios because the older bios may not know to change the voltages to match the memory profile. That being said, 4x 16 at 6000 is considered an overclock as isn't guaranteed. What does the memory currently post at? Is it 3600MT/s?
@@GameTechReviews Yeah, 3600MHz. And update of the BIOS was the firs thing I did. I have since lowered my expectations. I am currently trying 5000MHz at 30-36-36-76 @1.4V. It posts, but memtest86 shows errors and crashes...
@@jamerduroligelle91 Sorry mate, I have only partially managed to fix the issue. I have since discovered that I have other problems (BSODs) with my build and I don't think those are memory related. But if memtest is to believed I have managed to get to 5800MT's fairly easily by just loosening the timings to 44-44-44-90 and surprisingly lowering the voltage from EXPO 1.4V to 1.2V
This is really good information. Someone who seems to know the why to what he is doing.
This is the video making me subscribe to your channel. Keep this content up and have fun :)

There's some valuable information at the end of the video, but the presentation could be more concise.

@@jamesraney7232 My system is stable now. It just needs many many bios updates over time
Just rewatched your initial, hands on video and this one is a great follow up.l 👌
7700x is not stable if 4 sticks are used running 5200mhz 64gb
