I've had my WRX for a year now and I love it. The only mods I've done are the most basic (tints, mudflaps, third brake light, black badges, black wheels, weighted shift knob and perrin bushing). I have no interest in tuning or powertrain mods. I know that's lame but my WRX is my daily and I don't want to spend a bunch of money potentially ruining the reliability and also the resale value. I MIGHT get an axle back exhaust for it just to hear it a bit more- besides that, I'm still having plenty of fun in it being pretty much stock.

'18 WRX Owner (previously '16 WRX) - The ergonomics of the WRX as a driving tool are essentially unmatched in the now-outgoing model. Literally anyone can get in and drive without feeling overwhelmed with the controls. Styling aside I don't like how heavily Subaru is pushing for massive touch screens in the new model. It's a fantastic passenger space despite its size - on many occasions I've stuffed three other adults in my car for drives and there's been no issue with comfort. Regularly getting 30-ish MPGs even with the performance and AWD capability is very appreciated and cannot be understated especially when gas prices climb. I like the sound of the stock exhaust system especially after it breaks in; doing long drives at speed isn't fatiguing with it, though the stock tires are quite noisy. If I do mod the exhaust in the future I might get an HKS unit for a slight increase in volume, but I'm in no hurry. The paint and panels are soft - the car accumulates chips and small warps/dings with ease, to which I've learned to get over it, lol. If you can get a model with the Recaros I say go for it; the seat base isn't aggressively bolstered, but as a trade off you won't have to worry so much about wear, and getting in and out of the Recaros isn't an issue even for passengers who ride shotgun. The available Harman Kardon is definitely a welcomed upgrade, as the stock audio system is rather flat. I feel Subaru did a great job of splitting the WRX and STI in feel. I like the STI, but I prefer the WRX even with its limitations. Here in CA it's becoming much more difficult to modify (tune) cars while being legal for street use - I doubt I'll bother with tuning my WRX for this reason.

@@r.s.1381 The clutch pedal has a distinct firm resistance for the first ~1" of travel, but past that point it is fairly easy to operate. I got my 2015 wrx six speed manual a few months ago and up until then I always firmly stuck with American brands and said I would never buy an import cuz I'm a native of Dearborn Michigan but these days the imports are more American built than the American brands. So this is my first Subaru and my first import car ever and just like u Said I truly am in love with it she's my baby. And I agree with the point u made about the community it's so cool I get props and waves from almost every Subaru on the road I don't know them but when I pass a Subaru or one passes me on the road we are like brothers simply because of the car we own and share the common interest of Subaru and I love that I've been a car guy all my life and I'm the manager of a large auto repair and service shop in Southern California and I've always loved how the love of cars can bring total strangers together and make them friends and the Subaru community is just about the friendliest bunch of people I've seen out of any other community of car enthusiasts. If more people shared the love of cars like we do in the Subaru community the world would have a lot more peace lol

No. If you add the labor and the parts and the tune stage 3 Grimm speed is $2300 alone, with headers and injectors and some other parts will come up to $6000 or little over $6k to make 370 horsepower or something close to that. Not sure where you got $2000? You might be able to do stage 1 or maybe 2 for $2000 if you do all the labor your self. I think 350-370 horsepower is plenty enough for this little car at least for daily driver.

Don't agree about the negs about the community. A lot of the toxicity comes from the people who are newish to Subaru's, specifically the VA WRX owners. I don't think it's about beliefs in this community, I'm pretty sure no one like to be around someone who just brags about their things being better than others for no reason other than to make themselves feel superior, that's usually just reserved to some members who have that type of personality. Honestly the real Subaru enthusiasts are genuinely some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. If someone received "hate" in this community, it's highly likely that it was because of their own behaviour. We are very accepting people but no one wants to be a around spoiled brats regardless of your age and car you drive.

I agree with everything said EXCEPT the cvt part. I was born and raised around the racing scene. As a man I believe ALL men who want to get into the sport compact or sports car in general genre of vehicles then join forums and make RUclips videos etc… if your a man and you openly buy a cvt trans sports vehicle. You lost your man card. It’s that simple bro. If your a chick and you have an auto Wrx. It was made for you. It’s ok. Otherwise you deserve to lose your man card and you’ll get it back once you do the right thing.
