1 cup flour of your choice (all-purpose, gluten free, oat, amaranth)
    1 teaspoon sea salt
    1 teaspoon baking powder
Seasonings as desired: herbs, chopped garlic, minced shallots, flaked salt, etc.

I'm a year and a half into being diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic esophageal cancer and have been making changes to my diet. Since having over a year of chemo I'm having a difficult time getting protein into my diet. I've been on so much ensure and the like that I'm having problems even driving that anymore. I've been more able to eat primarily plant based foods and have become almost vegan I guess. I've never made anything like cheese before and I think it could help in my diet. The cost of having cancer and all I'm not able to afford one of these machines. I have to stay on what my disability check can afford for the least amount of cost. I have so been enjoying your RUclips channel. Thanks for all you do!!

I'm sorry to hear about your condition, and am so glad you are taking charge and doing what you can by making changes to your diet. I know it seems hard. Don't worry about protein too much -- you will get plenty as long as you eat a wide variety of whole foods from plants! There's protein in everything. And avoid processed foods -- dry beans, whole grains, and veggies are inexpensive and healthy!

@@thevegangoodlifewithmiyoko Your response was so uplifting. I've purchased a couple of your books. The first being "The Homemade Vegan Pantry: The Art of Making Your Own Staples". found it so easy to read and many ingredients are everyday pantry ingredients. I've made several items; was lucky when finding a Dynapro blender at a local thrift store about a week ago. I've had to relearn a lot of tasks that involve using my hand. The chemo|
was on caused neurological with my hands and feet. have absolutely no feeling in my hands and cutting items is a challenge. I've got some little tools to protect my fingers when cutting and my husband is benefitting. I'm able to make some of the foods from his home country of Vietnam; however it's an all day task for me. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Will you ever be doing a live?

Praying for you whether you believe in those things or not - also plz check out dr. Esselstyn jr.’s RUclips content on vegan diets. It’s not a panacea, but helps to manage erratic glucose levels and side effects of meds. Green teas and mushrooms are now showing researchers to have efficacious benefits during cancer treatment at any stage. Hang in there - you’re not alone! ❤❤❤ Much Love and Support and praying for your recovery

@@SooperToober thank you so much! I've been doing a lot of praying myself. My husband believes so much that he has booked a flight to Vietnam in September. I've discovered as I've gotten older the importance of reading ingredient labels. The added ingredients in everyday things like alternative milk can be overwhelming. Making my own milk helps me to be sure of the ingredient list.

Oh I love your videos! I feel like I’m almost there with you in your kitchen. You’re so relaxed and easy going, not to mention knowledgeable and gifted in the kitchen. Sure wish I was your neighbour lol. I never knew that there was such a machine like the Almond Cow. That would be an incredible tool for any vegan!

Thank you for showing us how easy it is to make the crackers and cheese. Can’t wait to get your new book. I really like the idea of combining the nuts so macadamias and walnuts are my favorites.

I would love to try making my own almond milk. I really love almond milk, but I have not been successful in making almond milk with my blender. That Almond Cow machine looks so cool! The fact that you can use the pulp is awesome!

I own all your cookbooks and I'm thrilled that your back at it again. I would like to make coconut/oat milk and feta cheese or maybe a smoked provolone. So many choices...I can't wait for your new book.

Your passion for great taste plant-based food - not just mixed refined fat & chemical spread on some cardboard - truly changed the future of vegan/plant-based food! I'd love to make some really thick strong soy milk or edamame milk if I can get some fresh raw edamame (young soy beans) that my mom used to make to make either "yuba" or "tofu". It would be out of this world😍😍😍 P.S. I use hair dryer to soften the butter sometimes😝

Hello Miyoko. I first learned about you from the You Are What You Eat documentary, and what an inspiration you are! We are slowly moving towards a more plant-based diet, and its wonderful to have so many resources. Looking forward to trying out the cracker and cookie recipes and stop composting my nut remnants. Thanks for keeping your kitchen and cooking demonstration realistic!

I'm so excited for the new book! I'm not sure I can wait until 2025. Your recipes have added so much to my life. The Vegan Pantry is my "go to" for all my basic kitchen staples. I'm already making my own vegan yogurt and ricotta from your videos. Pumpkin seed milk (with almonds or cashews) is definitely my favorite.

I’m genuinely excited about your new book and project! I already can’t get through a week without preparing at least one of your recipes…you’ve saved me $$$ in my vegan WFPB journey…and honestly the biggest risk to staying the course was my love of dairy…especially cheese and sour cream. Thank you for all you do! And thank you for coming back to talking & teaching & inspiring on RUclips!

We most commonly drink oat milk at my house so I'm very interested to try the combination of almond and oat. Making crackers with the pulp is brilliant!
