      @@ednan9 No, I don't even live in Taiwan anymore, there is nothing for me to be afraid of. What I want to say is, the hypocritical west will do what ever they can to push Taiwan into a military confrontation, and they will be laughing on the other side of the ocean and if a war actually broke out, the ones that are going to die are Taiwanese. That lady was laughable to even ask the question. But maybe in a sense she was right; who will suffer more, US or China? In a chess you don't say a pawn is losing, because a pawn is a pawn, and only the US and China are the players.

    I don’t think China is irrational re Taiwan, they are always calculating, it is a matter of time, China is patient, always seeking the opportune moment. They have waited a long time and will continue to wait. The longer the wait, the stronger China will be.

    Prof. Kishore is professional, intelligent and know the history very deeply and that’s why he can handling answers the questions well. You can’t answer the questions without knowing the history and the people asking the questions definitely didn’t know the history.

    Is Taiwan lost? Currently yes, as it's separate from its motherland. But it will be found again when it returns.
    Nobody asks Taiwan to stop elections once it's back under Beijing control.

      @@yt-qg8ui, that is part of it, the main reason is that US is hoping Taiwan could drag China into an arm race and slow China economic growth. Also, US could sell weapons to Taiwan.

      They are just trying to find ways and excuses to stop or slow China's growth and, hopefully, preserve the US hegemonic influence around the world. The Anglo Saxons don't really care what happens to Taiwan or the Taiwanese people. Just look at Iraq, Libya, Syria and Afghanistan.

    What a stupid question to ask! It's US vs China. Taiwan is only one of a few cards left US can play with China, even though it's risky and bad for US in terms of long-term interest. Nowadays, US does not have real politicians with grand strategy and vision anymore.

      Usd5.25 is abt Yuan 33 ..this is higher than UN definition of poverty of Us1.5 a day. The chinese farmers has everything : a house, free education for his kids, free medical , free water and electricity and he has afree plot of land abt 1.5 to 2 acres for cropping. Besides that he breeds chickens, ducks and pigs. So the fatmers save a lot of money and for yr info the biggest savers in the world are the chinese.

    This Singaporean Professor that I once adored and respected, very unfortunately, doesn't recognize nor believe the repression of the Uygur Muslims and the atrocities, persecution and human rights violations being committed against the Uygurs by the Chinese government and communist party... this is simply a distortion of the truth and facts of what's happening on ground in China... hence, this is sadly misinformation by the Professor aimed at misleading us away from the truth.
    And supposedly, the Professor will equally deny what's happening on ground in India by supporting the evil modi plus the BJP / RSS fanatics and fascists ideology that these groups perpetrate by continuing with their atrocities and persecution of the Muslim minority in India. Indeed this is very sad.
    I challenge by urging the Professor to visit Western China and Hindu majority ruled states in India in order to see with his own eyes on what's actually happening on ground against the Muslim minority.

    This guy makes so many mistake in one sentence , China won't make a blockade of Taiwan but China needs to take control of Taiwan with a fast and swift war. The first country to help Taiwan is Japan follow by U.S. . Correct don't change the status quo problem is China is saying outright that she will takeover Taiwan by force if necessary . No American ever says they are in favor of the One China Policy. What is said is that America acknowledged the One China Policy . It's important to specify the word is acknowledged and not the word recognized.
