1 Chronicles 4:10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 January 31, 1892) was a British Reformed Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the "Prince of Preachers." In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people, often up to 10 times a week at different places. His sermons have been translated into many languages. Spurgeon was the pastor of the New Park Street Chapel in London for 38 years. In 1857, he started a charity organization called Spurgeon's which now works globally. He also founded Spurgeon's College, which was named after him after his death.
Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, a commentary, books on prayer, a devotional, a magazine, and more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime. Arguably, no other author, Christian or otherwise, has more material in print than C.H. Spurgeon.

Praise be Jesus, I cannot get enough of listening this extraordinarily inspired preaching. It`s a rotound punch right into the face of those shallow preachers who have corrupted this line of the Scripture to teach their congregated ones the greedy desires of their own deceitful hearts. This type of preaching diagnoses both the heart of the listener as well as the one who preaches. Spurgeon showed how a faithful humble servant of God he was. "Pray for the blessing, which having, you are blissfully rich, or which lacking, you are poor and destitute, THOUGH PLENTY FILLS YOUR STORE. If Your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here, but OH, THAT YOU WOULD BLESS US!" AMEN!
I thank God that these sermons still exist! I love being taught, and they convict me.

Spurgeon exegetes the text perfectly. Jabez' prayer is not a prayer for those who like to dream and dwell falsely on their health and wealth message...the blessing may be the Lord sending adverse hard to handle health issues or other (uncomfortable things to us, for our growth.) A professing preacher who really writes more than preaches on this, to suck the profits out of it was not thinking of all of God's blessings...Spurgeon clears this passage up as he did so well.
