    I’m an introvert so all the networking stuff is kinda difficult for me. And last I checked in past 6mo, MSFS is not loggable but good tool in the bag.

      Same for me, not much into socializing. Hope I can make this work. Doing my online ground school now. Have flight sim at home. I’m 61 just looking for a hobby, not a job.

    In the 1990s I did flight training. I really did this to a flight instructor who was looking to build time requirements for getting an ATP. I was a professional Tree Work person back then. I had gotten a big runaround at flight school & this instructor was new to that school. Idea popped in my head to play a big joke. I asked that instructor did they want to LOG a bunch of Hours and Log a whole bunch of time. I told him I had the job for him to log a whole bunch of time. Meet me here 1st thing in the morning. I said to Him this will be great for a young pilot. I took this individual to the tree job and opened my tool box and got out the chainsaws I then said Honey I'm gonna Cut It and your gonna pile it. You said you wanted to Log a whole bunch of time. Were going to cut up these trees today. I literally almost got my rear end kicked for pulling a prank like this during my flight training. I was logging as a career back then for a living.

    I think the flight sim tip is valid only for IFR or multi training to work procedures and flows. For ab initio training though it can work against a student if they're just teaching themselves bad habits. I've not instructed but mates have and they said they spent too much time trying to get their students to unlearn things the picked up themselves in their sim at home.
    All the rest are great points! Love that you encourage the social factor so much, it really is so important.

      absolutely I agree. And that was what I mainly used it for. It was actually more for my own passion than training... but it for sure helped :)

    My tip is simple: read the f*cking books!
    The more self-learning you do, the less time and money you will waste on instructors. Don't just sit back and wait for them to teach you, be one step ahead.

    • @alext7202
      @alext7202 6 месяцев назад

      @@sheashaw5528 Your instructor is not wrong. Everything he has to teach you is in your books. Why pay him to read them to you, when you can do it yourself for free? Even instructors need to feel like they earned your money. You should at the very least read the relevant chapters before your lesson, that way you won't have to learn on the spot.

      @@alext7202 I just didn’t understand why he didn’t tell me before instead of getting frustrated that idk what he didn’t teach me n I ask so many questions for him to finally just say that but ik now n God is good I’m only beginning everything is aligning thank you
