Dude I'm not even in the market for a new camera backpack but sat through this whole video because of how excellently it was done. Excellent review! I love the way that you kept it fresh with a different angles if you out in the mountains. One of my favorite scenes was when you were laying sideways and talking about how if things go sideways, I just one of the things I would have loved to have seen would have been a close-up of your face. Kind of looking like it was right side up but obviously we're still laying down and then zooming out to where you were actually sideways. When you said when things go sideways tiny little idea I had that I thought would have made this even more amazing than it was Overall killer video and even though I love Peter McKinnon I'm I always thought his backpack looked a little bit too overpriced as well. Happy to know after a review that that could be confirmed
Thank you so much! I put a lot of work into this one and I’m glad to see you enjoyed it. Killer idea for the zoom out on the “sideways” shot. Wish I would have thought of that!
I know that 0 access points are a welcome feature for many as it sets the risk of theft at 0. But yeah, I also love a good side access to the camera or other stuff.
I really wanted to like this backpack but so many things let it down from the ergonomics to the ridiculous decision by NO/GOMATIC to charge extra for accessories which (for the price) should be included by default. My main issue was the way the bag 'swings' across the back whilst fully loaded and no amount of strap readjustment would stop this, it unbalances the user to the point of the weight shift becoming uncomfortable after just 2 hours. Its a good concept especially the back breathability, but unless a new updated model is released i'll continue to stick to my K+F daypack.
Awhile back I ordered and received the Mc Kinnion bag. Felt cheap in hand. The shape, empty, was too bulky when worn. It stuck out way too far. Bumping into things, knocking things over. Just returned it. Also over priced. So went with a Shimoda. Carried more gear and was tight and lower profile to my back. Comfortable. Well thought out design. Felt and rugged. Affordable too.
*I use mine as literally everyday Backpack, 90% of the time for work putting my iPad in it and some groceries. I didn't look at this as a camera bag I looked at it as a swiss knife that I can use for practically everything but it's not for everyone*
I’m not a fan of side swinging, so side access is next to useless for me. Backpacks for me are off or on, slings or shoulder bags are for on-body access. But what I do find valuable is a backpack that self stands and can be fully accessed that way, so you need not throw the straps or back of the pack in the dirt. The top load on this one is nice, but I’m not sure how well it self stands since you showed the bottom is unstructured. The Tenba DNA is my fave photo backpack this size as it’s built to self stand and you can can get into the top and bottom of the bag easily while it’s standing.
Yeah, it would really benefit from some exterior straps to add an extra jacket, or even a small tent and sleeping pad. It seems like a rugged bag that's not made to be convenient in rugged environments
I completely agree with you that this bag or ANY of PM's stuff is worth the price! You're paying for his name and that is it!!! I have both his bags and they sit in my closet. For that price I use the Shimoda bags!! MUCH more functional and worth the money!
@@JosephMartin I have the Action X50 version one and the 35L Explorer version 2. Amazing bags and the absolute most comfortable camera bag I’ve ever had!!!
Your video and storytelling is on point for this video! Buuuut, to be fair you are reviewing the camera bag he made with less "bells & whistles" to save the average person some money. If you wanted all the accessories and side pockets, he sells a bigger better bag to fit your needs; although not so easy on the wallet. Either way great video and very detailed.
Thank you! The bigger bag is super cool but a little too big imo if you want to use it as a “daily driver” or take it on long hikes. I wish they would have just shrunk it down!
@JosephMartin you are not wrong about that. Bells and whistles are there but definitely a chore to carry daily. Many times lugging it around after a while I convert to the smaller cube it comes with.
I get that it’s your opinion but nah Peter bag was the first bag that actually was very functional and had a certain look to it that didn’t look like your standard camera bag 25l don’t know about but I have the 35L and loved it so to each is own but ran thru 15 bags until I came across his might get the 25l But I do agree with you for the price tag dividers and at least 1 cube should be included
It's a bulky, unwieldy, and pretty meh design. Overpriced to the stratosphere, only hype can sell this bag. Which, fortunately, is exactly what McKinnon does best.
It’s expensive on its own….what pisses me off the most is they charge you through the nose again for the ladder, cube and dividers…..other bits as you say (accesories) are also extras…..way way way overpriced…….he’s banking on his followers being sucked into the hype.He definitely won’t be getting a bean out of me….

After reading the title, I was ready to hate on this video. Instead, I found it informative and worth the watch!!! Subscribed!
Thank you! Glad you liked the vid!
I found your channel searching for a review and… I’m sold! On your channel that is! Love your content. Subbed right away 😊

You nailed it man. Nailed it.

I think you might like the PGYTECH ONEMO 2 Backpack. It has the missing features you are asking for and at a much lower price.
Interesting! I’ll check it out
Great recommendation, thanks
Excellent recommendation. It looks super nice.
I love this video. great review
Thanks for the comment! Glad you liked it

Shimoda's bags look great! Hopefully I can get my hands on one someday
I think that the rating of 5 should be correct but you made solid arguments. Great video man!
Thank you! we can split the difference and officially call it a 6

That’s sweet! Glad you’re getting good use out of it. It is the PERFECT size for an everyday bag.

Excellent video👌
Thanks!
I want to see your comparison of this bag vs the shimoda's everyday bag (25L). Great review man!
Thanks! I’d love to make one if Shimoda would send one my way!
Really great overview!
Thank you!

For sure. And you can get those straps, it’ll just cost you $20/strap 😂
damn how do you not have more likes and subs. DOpe review!
Thank you!
perfect review !
Thanks man!

lowepro 450 AW II review please? or against this expenise bag?
Nice video man

I waste more money on camera bags than anyone I feel like. None of them are perfect. I actually hate the placement of the top handle.
PM is overrated both he and his products.

400?00? I can buy a Real pack for that.
Is this not a “real” pack?

I agree. I’d rather the bag come with those things and cost more. Somehow that would feel less… shady?
Who would buy this!?😂
me I guess... :(
There is nothing like this.
Wdym?
@@JosephMartin there is some features that you can only find together in this back back. Is there any alternative?
@MohammadAdnan-do1ie oh sure! The shimoda v2 25 is geared more toward hikers and peak design makes a cool daypack too
Thanks for saving me money and time. I stopped watching at no outside pockets. So impractical, going for Japanese motorcyclist look is not for me.
Happy I could help!
