(Not being an advocate for Shein here, I just wanted to point out something about one of the stories.) The vial of blood, beans and needle were the fault of FedEx employees. The girl in the video made another talking about it. Shein had gotten back to her and said they were looking into it. When Shein couldn't find any issue with her order, it was discovered that the blood vial was from a US facility, as with all the other items. The girl then contacted the delivery company, FedEx, about it and FedEx refused to talk with her about it, so the fault now is lying with FedEx not Shein because FedEx doesn't even want to open dialogue with her about it.

Not only is this disgusting and horrifying, but it also leads to two questions 1. The quality of their worker’s environment and the possible violation of labor laws (due to that poor kiddo losing their homework, and the fact that there are literal biohazard and insects in some of these packages) 2. The environmental risk. Not only from the shipping of the packages and those carbon emissions, plus the fast fashion of it all, BUT ALSO the risk of infestation by foreign species. Imagine if those spider eggs had hatched outside or that huge spider had escaped?? The potential environmental devastation and destabilization of native species is terrifying to think about.
Ok the rock one is easy tho… it’s happened to me from other jeans many times before (never one that big tho, its usually like a little bit of grit/sand), and I’m almost positive it’s just something that gets into the pockets on accident leftover from when the jeans are being stonewashed/tumbled with rocks/pebbles during the dyeing/softening/texturizing/“destroying” process.
This is what people get for knowing how harmful Fast-fashion is, even to the environment, and not caring and even “joking” about not caring that Fast-fashion is often made in sweatshops that use unsafe working conditions and child labor. UNICEF estimates that 168 million children between the ages of 5 and 17 are engaged in child labor. And no one deserves to possibly contract disease for buying clothes, but what kind of product do you expect when conditions are like this? Like someone else said, I could see how it could even be a message or attempt to make the brand stop selling
I have decided not to order from any shein, romwe, etc anymore but the Jaded London instance worries me because what if a brand that says they are good, handmade, etc are just re-selling products from cheap places for more money?
"Guys, be careful when ordering from Shein" uhhhhh how about just don't order from Shein?????? Like their shit quality and working conditions are so public that there's literally no excuse

Fr! My friend used to buy from them (she still might be idk) and this is how the conversation went EVERY TIME: Her: They're the only place with cheap plus size clothing. Me: Have you tried thrifting? Her: All the plus size stuff there is ugly and frumpy. Me: Then what if you make your own clothes? Her: I don't have the time. (while spending six hours on her phone) I don't care what your financial situation is or what size you are, supporting Shein is supporting illegal labor, consumerism, and destruction of the environment.
@@duz_machines_8429I'm really sympathetic to people's financial situations, but I will always say that it's better to spend the extra money on something that will stand the test of time vs needing to buy something cheap every other week.
@@duz_machines_8429 must be nice to have money and a conventional sized body. speaking as someone learning how to sew, hand making clothes isn't something you just pick up from day one. it takes a lot longer to 1) get the money for fabric/equipment/dressforms/etc 2) learn to sew something that has a high enough quality to survive a washing machine 3) actually find the time to do the physical labor of sewing. regurgitating the same old classist phrases make you sound incredibly elitist. ofc it's better to shop elsewhere but we shouldn't judge people if that is genuinely all they can afford. poor (and/or plus size) people deserve to dress how they want. the REAL problem with fast fashion lies with the people who only buy clothes to fit with a short-trend cycle; they usually wear an outfit once or twice and then trash it to follow the next trend. the majority of people buying from shein/fashion nova/similar stores aren't like that though.
I will not buy from shein because it is a sweatshop in a country that murders their citizens just because is revolting that is why i won't see the plastifacation people because they are chinese murder victims that had their organs harvested to profit the ccp.
SWOOP made an excellent documentary on Shein. It's on here for free. Also, expecting safe work conditions and safely shipped products for the company who literally felt the need to use influencers for a propaganda campaign is kinda dumb.
To be fair there is usually propaganda in practically every consumer-employed advert, (although companies who push it on the hardest are usually suspicious in itself.)
YESSSS this has happened before to another brand, there was letters from the workers asking for help, I think this is their way (the workers) to put the attention in the brand
My friend did a TON of research on many factories for her senior thesis. however I don’t remember specifics SHEIN is probably one. Here’s a small summary of what I do remember. The conditions are horrid, they have child labor with children as young as 5 working for way too long for way too little money, they don’t take care of their workers, there’s even incidents of them locking people inside the factories. So when there was a fire no one could get out and many people died. Unwanted clothes from the us are given to India I believe and then thrown into landfills. They just stay there becuase they don’t dissolve. It also puts micro plastics into water sources which gets in fish and in turn into people’s stomachs. It’s truly awful and opened my eyes when I heard her thesis. Please be carful which brands you buy from. She also said thrifting is good to do so do that when you can.
I really do not understand why shein still has customers. This is insane to me. At this point, no one can say they genuinely did not know or expect any of all of this. They got exposed so many times by now.
Because people are shopaholics, and Shein knows it. So they cut corners to make stuff dirt cheap, since people will buy it, just so that they can say "I bought something!" Like BookTok
Bcs its cheap, and you really don't have a choice when youre broke and need clothes ((im guilty of buying from them, just bcs we dont have cheaper options here))

I'd never order from Shein but I've quickly learned, no matter the shop - always wash clothing after buying/ordering before wearing for the first time. You never know what clothes have been treated with before getting to the store and if it's a physical store you never know what kinda person tried them on.
Here is a hypothesis to ponder: the weird and dangerous items in these packages shipped from this dubious company are, in fact, clues to something far more sinister than their simple incompetence in manufacturing. (Sips tea with raised eyebrow)
The chemicals are dangerous for the consumer, just imagine how much more dangerous for the factory workers. Why is anyone still supporting Shein? If we keep giving them our money, they're not gonna stop.

Id warn your friend bc if anything like dermitis is caused by the clothing and there is no good reason other than it coming from Shein she and the shop could be done for false advertising/fraud. its not illegal to resell others clothes, but if something happens to the customer because they were lied to there can be serious repercussions especially if you didnt keep the fabric labels and someone had a reaction.
@@md-vq8sp absolutely!! So many stores buy clothes on SHEIN for cheap and resell them with higher prices and different tags, they’re just more careful about it. And it’s crazy because you’d never be able to notice unless you consume a lot of stuff from shein, which I do, so I notice. And it’s always the most popular fashion brands and well known stores too, like rue 21, Walmart, target. This HAS to be some sort of protest either from the slave laborers in the Shein sweatshops, a prank from whoever does the packaging (they would come into contact with hundreds to thousands of orders all around the world each day, OR a prank from the resellers possibly receiving items, THEN repackaging them and shipping them again with some surprises added.

Factories in China often have low level office staff running around doing the shipping at all hours which could explain how an elementary school textbook ended up getting mailed off. Someone probably earned their 8 year old a good scolding at school. Also, the woman who got the stone in a pocket got one of the pieces of pumice used to distress fabric.
This is one of the reasons why I heavily discourage my close ones from ordering from (ultra) fast fashion/ real-time fashion shops. The conditions are terrible, you're putting yourself at risk, and they're harming the environment as well.
its probably a good idea to wash any new clothes because the chemicals and dyes can soak into your skin while your wearing it and if you have sensitive skin and can make you break out. this shirt from amazon smelled weird and made me itch when i tried it on, but it was fine when i washed it
I used to work in a distribution center for an American clothing store. I NEVER wear clothes without washing them after buying. I've seen too much. Boxes come from overseas that have spiders, lizards, snakes and bugs in them. Mostly dead. But occasionally alive. Some boxes, when you open them, there's a horrible stench of chemicals. Some boxes get wet during shipping. Most of the clothes inside are in a thick plastic bag to protect them. But the bags are often torn or open. So, it's very likely that the clothes have spent days, weeks or sometimes months in very hot and humid conditions just festering and molding. Some boxes would have trash in them. Some boxes would have items from other companies because they're all made from the same sweatshops. Then you add in the warehouse/distribution center the clothes went to before being shipped to stores or the customer directly. These warehouses are full of dust and dirt and many aren't climate controlled. The workers, while picking/ packing items often accidentally drop clothes on the floor. The clothes get stepped on or fall in between dusty shelves. During the summer, workers are often drenched in sweat because there's no ac, while carrying stacks of clothes to pack. During the winter, they're often coming into work sick because most warehouses have limited pto and punish people for calling in sick. Workers have required number they have to meet each day. So, if they drop your items on the floor and then accidentally step/trip on them, they aren't going to exchange that item for a "clean" one. That item is getting packed just like any other item. Not to mention that a lot of items are returns from other customers. The warehouse isn't washing them before reselling. They will take a used/ dirty item, slap a new price tag on it and put it back in the box to sell again. I can remember a "special project" where buyers from the company went to thrift stores and bought all the skirts from the 90s they could find. Put them in boxes to come to the warehouse where we took them straight out of the box, slapped a price tag on them and put them in a different box to be distributed to stores across the country. These items could have been dirty or damaged and they were going to sell them as a special "vintage" line. Please wash all your clothes before wearing them. The warehouse I worked in had required cleaning duties at the end of our shift. But even then, the whole place was still constantly dirty. Unless you're making your own clothes, assume that the clothes you are buying from anywhere are not clean, are possibly used and have a layer of dangerous chemicals in them.
@@krisaissosmart oh my gosh dude thanks my mom orders alot online. i never thought about how clean a clothing department is. even at amazon i'm sure its not clean. Luckly i have never bought clothes online, but my mom does

You don’t have to imagine, look at massive food conglomerates like Tyson and the amount of people they’ve killed through unsafe food and shoddy supply chains
The fact that a kid's school book was found in a shein package shows how much of a child labor factory or a sweat shop shein is, and I think the beans were from a hungry child that has not eaten for days, and dropped is only food for months in the clothes he cheaply made
I dont think the notebook and workbook are that weird. The slave worker was probably too exhausted from working hours and hours on end and packed it on accident. Shein has been outed for their god-awful practices. I can't believe people are still buying from them.
7:22 the blood and hair and stuff is making me think they are being treated horribly and need help and are trying to spread their dna, just a theory so call me crazy in the replies idc 😭
Literally about to comment that. I've ordered clothes from shein and had gotten a rash on my hand after touching them and they smelled heavily of chemicals but I washed them in one load and no smell or rashes. It's always best to wash clothes before wearing them.
How did they know that they were spider eggs? And if they were, so what? Spiders eat insects, and if you get too many spiders, they eat each other. If you've ever lived in a dilapidated old house for any amount of time, you get used to spiders, become friends with spiders, and begin to love spiders, because the alternative is so much worse.
I mean, if I was an underpaid, overworked Shien's worker sewing or shipping those stuff, I'd put spiders there aswell. Complaining about the quality is... tone deaf at best.
I don't know why, but the beans were more surprising to me than the syringe, every time I wonder how they missed the can, because the syringe was small, but the can? How did they do it?
That's a bit like North Korea having tourist tours. They do, but you have to be pretty braindead to think that what you see on those resembles reality. Then again, the term braindead is probably pretty apt for many influencers.
Awful-smelling items _could_ be caused by a disinfectant/preservative called _formaldehyde. It's a chemical commonly used by clothing brands to prevent mold/wrinkling during the shipping process. It's quite rare, but there are people who are allergic to _formaldehyde_, so the rashes people are getting could be caused by it. *_ALWAYS_* wash your clothes before you try on/wear them!! Oh yeah, funnily enough, formaldehyde is also the chemical used to preserve *dead bodies* until the date they're buried.

It also seems like a little bit of mistranslation..
Maybe they know what chemical it’s made with. It’s possible the statement came out sounding alarming because a translator was used.
Not only is this disgusting and horrifying, but it also leads to two questions
1. The quality of their worker’s environment and the possible violation of labor laws (due to that poor kiddo losing their homework, and the fact that there are literal biohazard and insects in some of these packages)

Her: All the plus size stuff there is ugly and frumpy.
Me: Then what if you make your own clothes?
Her: I don't have the time. (while spending six hours on her phone)
I don't care what your financial situation is or what size you are, supporting Shein is supporting illegal labor, consumerism, and destruction of the environment.

They got exposed so many times by now.

its probably a good idea to wash any new clothes because the chemicals and dyes can soak into your skin while your wearing it and if you have sensitive skin and can make you break out. this shirt from amazon smelled weird and made me itch when i tried it on, but it was fine when i washed it
Yeah, ever since the 90s my mom taught me to always wash new clothes before wearing them unless it's something that's dry-clean only.
Unless you're making your own clothes, assume that the clothes you are buying from anywhere are not clean, are possibly used and have a layer of dangerous chemicals in them.
good idea

Literally about to comment that. I've ordered clothes from shein and had gotten a rash on my hand after touching them and they smelled heavily of chemicals but I washed them in one load and no smell or rashes. It's always best to wash clothes before wearing them.
The spider egg wring made me want to vomit...
it's freaking fake there doing it for views all my family orders from shein no bugs or needles idk what to say
Thankfully they weren't in the process of hatching

But how did she, hopefully, dispose of it?
How did they know that they were spider eggs?
And if they were, so what? Spiders eat insects, and if you get too many spiders, they eat each other.
If you've ever lived in a dilapidated old house for any amount of time, you get used to spiders, become friends with spiders, and begin to love spiders, because the alternative is so much worse.
5:13 those notes are making it seem like a fckin FNaF spring lock suit💀

I mean, if I was an underpaid, overworked Shien's worker sewing or shipping those stuff, I'd put spiders there aswell. Complaining about the quality is... tone deaf at best.
I’d put letters asking for help

The “you are going to die in this suit” is TERRIFYING
This genuinely feels like a horror movie... this is surreal
I don't know why, but the beans were more surprising to me than the syringe, every time I wonder how they missed the can, because the syringe was small, but the can? How did they do it?
a whole living spider???? How tf could that thing living though shipping process?
Now I’ll shudder every time I see a Shein ad.
why are y'all buying from shein anyway💀💀🙏🏼
Fr 😭
Because we broke af
@@Touchgrass4me okay u got a point

That's not copying. That's outright reselling.
And yet they were still inviting influencers to stay at their factory..
That's a bit like North Korea having tourist tours. They do, but you have to be pretty braindead to think that what you see on those resembles reality. Then again, the term braindead is probably pretty apt for many influencers.
Some of these like the rocks and the school book may have been put in there by kids as a cry for help 😢
Glad your back Hayley ❤❤❤
People discovering just now that shein is an ethical disaster blows my mind
Awful-smelling items _could_ be caused by a disinfectant/preservative called _formaldehyde. It's a chemical commonly used by clothing brands to prevent mold/wrinkling during the shipping process. It's quite rare, but there are people who are allergic to _formaldehyde_, so the rashes people are getting could be caused by it.
*_ALWAYS_* wash your clothes before you try on/wear them!!
Oh yeah, funnily enough, formaldehyde is also the chemical used to preserve *dead bodies* until the date they're buried.
I have literally never ordered from shein
I haven’t either. This made sure I never will.
i ordered a couple things a long long long time ago bc this stuff was never out abt it, then as soon as i got the stuff on christmas day thats when ppl started talking about how horrible it was. never opened the clothing in fear of something being in there
Same and it's staying that way
Same! No thanks!
i had never heard of it before this video
