@@mikevandenhoek9023 There are a couple other versions, like a base game one, an updated version for new packs, and a version 2.0 with new rules, traits, different order of colors, etc. Version 2.0 is by simmer-emsie and I'm playing it now. Pretty fun!

You are definitely not alone with the talking about sims to your loved ones for too long. On an 8 hour car ride, my friend and I spent most of that trip discussing the next three generations of my legacy family.
Kayla's building skill really shines through when she gives herself a storyline to follow, the builds always end up with more detail and uniqueness
You should do a part 2 to the not so berry challenge with some of the newer skills, careers, traits, etc. It would be so fun!
kayla has talked about this occasionally on stream! she doesn't want to make generations 11-20, cause that would be too long for a challenge. however, she's open to making an entirely revised version eventually! mostly, though, she's thrilled that the community has really embraced nsb and she encourages people to check out fanmade extensions, variants, etc!

Her front yard looks like a common Japanese/Chinese graveyard, where it's all concrete memorials battling for space 😂. It fits in Komorebi well
My blue gen sim just grew up into a young adult and got married while I was watching this video 💕 NSB really helped me with not only expanding my gameplay but also my building, since each generation had such a different personality. It’s such a fun challenge and I’m excited to make up my own rules for the future generations
Also just to vent about my green gen sim: she was born a werewolf bc I had no idea her dad was a werewolf until it was too late and her first temperament was the excitable one so I had to lock her in her room like 24/7 bc she kept gaining fury so fast from playing video games 😭😭😭

It is one thing that Dan has to listen (or kindly does) to Kayla´s Sims-Saga. We all love that. But imagine people walking by and hearing snippets of the story like "Well, we decided to kill Bethany, because you know, why not ..." 😂
It's funny for Kayla to say gray toddler rooms are hard to do, because almost every toddler/kids room I build has a gray base, I always go for the gray wallpaper with the "mountain peaks" bc it's similar to stuff they use on design show all the time 😂 I hate clashing colors in TS4.

Kayla, as someone who builds only pink houses for her Sim, I think there’s basically enough for a full house? There’s good counters from Cottage Living, great build stuff from StrangerVille, and Paranormal has beautiful pinks. The new High School Years pack also has nice pinks for bedroom sets! I make a lot of smaller homes but it’s definitely doable. Tbh I’d be more worried about purple lmao
I’m doing Not So Berry right now, and I’m looking forward to Gray Gen movie night because of the Lil Campers Kit. I think it will be cute with that set up. I’m going to have to move the family out of Brindleton Bay, though. It’s too stormy for outdoor movies there.
Can’t get over the part where that Kayla said she made Dan listen to her talk about that one sims stream when he already edits her videos but also technically made him listen to it again when he edited this video
has she done a random colour palette challenge? some of my best rooms were decorated using a random color palette generator :D

im in university and went home for spring break recently, and i sat my mom down and gave her tours of all my new builds and explained a new family i was playing with and BOY did i ramble
I love NSB I always incorporate it with any other challenge family’s that I’m doing, I normally stick with 1 family and do multiple challenges with that same family and NSB is definitely being added to this family

I think they should come out with a pack that has things for the Not So Berry challenge and name you and your friend the creators. So many love it and it would be cool to see them put your names on a pack. I love all your builds.
I just wish I didn't need all the packs to do the NSB challenge, but when I tried to adapt it, I realized that the point of the challenge kind of revolves around having all those options in careers and gameplay.
I have to be selective with my packs because I play on console and it just can't run more than a few, so I'll never get to do this unfortunately.
I read the title as "building a house with only one door" so now I think that it could also be a good challenge haha
Don't worry about the pinks. I recently build a basehouse with pastel pink theme and it was easy enough. Only kitchen was problematic so with all packs you will have fun.

My Not So Berry Grey Gen home was the first Sims 4 house I built from scratch all by myself (a year or two ago, I forget 😅). Previously, I'd only decorated other people's shells and my roofing was usually awful, but the grey house turned out great imo, and I'm still very proud of it! 😊

Oh no, the vibrant pink colours are my life!! Love them in the Sims so much. BTW I also talk to people about my generational saves ALL THE TIME. And they know "the lore" and are invested in my game so it's just natural to us - it gets worse when someone from "the outside" comes and listens LOL
I also tell people about my games, and I've recently been telling people about the gothic reno I did of Notre Dame, for my vampire sim to live in and be worshiped by the 'human cattle' that live in the cottages on the grounds. We hold black mass twice a week. It's great. They love it.
12:21 It really made me laugh because when I was doing the Not So Berry challenge, my sims made clown of herself, five to be excact, and i dressed them really differently, put them in different worlds, and just pretended no one was knowing about that. And they eventually made a club. It was really good fun.

Kayla playing the sims is your job, I work with theatre and I almost only talk about theatre, it's perfectly common and understandable for you to tell your sims stories
The movie night and the award show makes me wish the Sims 4 had a reminder feature for the calendar. It's not that I didn't care about having a weekly family night but I would almost always forget ☹
My gray gen sims is my favorite sim of all time btw and it's male so that's saying something! I fell in love with this big puppy-eyed hunk of a man who just wants to play with his kids all day 🥺

The not so berry challenge was by far the one me and my mom had the most fun with. We had so much fun that we actually wrote a whole other 10 generations and turned it into a 20 gen challenge.

An athlete on Mount Komorebi ? Have him max out fitness, climbing, snowboarding and skying. It's only appropriate. He'll obviously need to complete the Extreme Sports aspiration in addition to the Body Builder aspiration.
How about a rocket on the roof of the house ? After topping the Astronaut career, make that two rockets on the roof.
I also tend to collect graves from all over the place. Visit some random family and they have a grave ? Straight in my Sim inventory it goes. I also use a mod to collect graves...

My wife and I used to RP these two characters Zach & Alexis - Doctor Who-style time agents/cops who owned a bar in the 53rd Century. In the Sims 4 we have them as secret agents who own a bar. When Journey to Batuu came out I played it all the way through with the boys and told her what they were doing all the time! And just as in our RP Alexis just started autonomously making drinks at the Cantina - because Sims... and it was so fun. Also, pretty much the only times I play Batuu is if I want Zach and Alexis to be in their futuristic bar filled with aliens.
I tell my friends and family some things about my games, occasionally get their opinion on a sim's outfit or name.
But they will never
*NEVER*
hear about my gameplay.
I can't put them through that.
I also did a regular 10 generation legacy challenge, and now I'm doing a Disney Princess themed legacy challenge that I found on tumblr (I can't remember the creator sorry), but I'm on the 4th gen as well, which is Megara from Hercules. After this challenge, I'm planning on finally getting around to Not So Berry!
I definitely force my husband and kids to look at my builds and listen to the crazy things that happen in the game 😅
I'm playing this challenge right now and I am at plum atm. But I was very proud of the grey-gen house I builded for this one. I went more for an Oasis Springs modern build with a pool and a huge outdoor kitchen
I really think it would be cool if you and your friend or whoever did a refresh of not so berry!! The game has changed so much so maybe rewriting it and making a part two or something would be so cool

I don't talk about my sims saves but whenever there is huge news (like when we learned about infants) and I get really excited and start the convo like "So I know you don't care, but...."
I am going through the Not so berry challenge, mostly through the grey gen... however had to make some changes as I don't have all the packs, I paid for it and bought vampires and cottage living, and now that it is free and I have gamepass that gives Get to work... so to make up for it I will have to make sure I Blue gen is the scientist, as I don't have city living... (no worries, just a few necessary changes, all good) on and your influence is strong as yellow gen married Vlad because I said the next sim she see... grey is human (good thing too, but way too many vamp cousins... lol) love your chaotic good energy

I absolutely ramble to people about my sim families I’m overly attached to as well as the weird challenges I put sims through! I just did a one tile challenge and have finally rewarded my sim with a front door to his huge house he managed to make enough money to build without leaving
Selfish request here but would you consider making a video going over the basics of building a house in the sims? How to do roofing, making a cohesive floorplan etc? Roofa in particular are the BANE of my existence

My friends and family have had to listen to far too many instances of my Sims doing stupid things honestly, usually along the lines of my male Sims constantly getting abducted by aliens and my frustration when they come back and I have to have yet another alien baby. So, no worries Simsie, I do it, too. My friends have now learnt that whenever I'm playing a video game, it's the Sims.

I was telling my partner about my modified 100 baby challenge. They were concerned and amused at the same time. I am mostly just trying to break the family tree. I want to see how much the console (xbox1) version can handle before it just stops. I am also trying to see exactly how the sims 4 works with occult genetics. I know i could look it up, but i want to see it in action. I have the sims set to long lifespan and it is one couple, a spellcaster and a newly turned werewolf. Currently at 11 kids and they are still YA.
